Are you trying to say that you've still got iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G? Pah-leease.

Some of us are still using first gen stuff. Anyway excited to hear about this so wanted the rotation lock. Also the gestures seem a nice little touch and hopefully it won't be in beta for as long as 4.2

So with 3G out with the next update, how long before 3GS... just wondering, I'm a seeing a push with AT&T to get rid of 3GS's... $19 for a refurb 3GS

Can somebody please test taking photos with their iPhone on iOS 4.3 in all 4 orientations and seeing if they come up oriented correctly when air-played to AppleTV?

I had some photos of my daughter I took while ice skating with her and they all came up correctly on the iPhone 3Gs, but when air-played to AppleTV, the orientation of the photos matched whatever the orientation of the phone was when I took the photo -- really lame (upside down, sideways, etc....)

If they have not fixed this bug, can one of you developers report it to Apple against iOS4.3 for AppleTV or iPhone? Maybe they will listen more readily if they think it is a new bug in this update.

I would expect the 3GS to disappear from sale when the iPhone 5 is released, and at that point start getting reduced update support

Any news on more supported printers in AirPrint?

Place four fingers on your iPad. No no, not your thumb you idiot. Just your fingers. Now... move them upward!

"Oh wow the multitasking bar!!!!!!"

Settle down. Ok next put your hand on your iPad again. ... Just your fingers now, like you did last time. Now you swipe them left.

"Oh cool I'm in another app now!!!!!!"

Here, have a chocolate. Now get ready again! Put your four fingers on the iPad again, and pinch them together!

"Like this??"

No stop pinching your fingers with your other hand... just... ok spread out your fingers. Yes, that's it. Now bring them alllllll together!

"Oh wow the home screen!"

You win!
Thanks, dad! *om-nom-nom-nom*

:D

iPad:

I think we all know the iPad 2 is on its way and what to expect there, but I have been wondering what new software features we will see! These gestures sound interesting and nice. Makes me wonder if they are preparing to get rid of the home button and take more of a..... hate to say it..... Honeycomb style approach with no buttons and free orientation of hardware. I think that would be slick and we all know Steve loves no buttons!

I guess to be fair Apple has already gone in the buttonless direction on the new iPod nano with the press and hold for the home screen, so I guess they beat Honeycomb to the party haha. Long presses aren't the greatest though. I have wondered why they didn't implement multi-tasking with like a 3 finger pinch that zooms out to an expose of the apps running or something. I love Apple but their multi-tasking UI is second best to WebOS!

HotSpot:

This could be very nice and maybe lower bills of needing internet if we can just have one connection and share it with all our devices! AT&T will probably screw us though and not support it for a year!

AirPlay:

Definitely happy about this coming to 3rd party apps! :D

Apple TV:

I'm excited for this update as well. There are a bunch of UI elements in the Netflix section that are not placed correctly and there are bugs like not going back to your spot on the menu before after you add something to your Instant Que... It is really annoying to scroll all the way down menus every time over and over after you add something instead of properly taking you back to where u were. It works right if you don't add something to the que, but not then you add things! Very annoying.

Hopefully we see the Apple TV SDK and App Store this year, but I know it won't happen in this update!

Wonder what iOS 5 will bring? Maybe the Apple TV App Store, new notifications, widgets shared across iOS devices and Macs!

WE NEED TO STOP AT&T from charging for this

Yes, personal hotspot is there (must call AT&T to enable tethering) and taking a screenshot has a new sound.

Thx for posting

It makes no sense whatsoever for AT&T's charging for tethering nor hotspot functionality. If you pay for the data, you should be able to use it how you wish... it costs AT&T nothing (unless the true unlimited users are abusing their plans).

How do we STOP THEM!

Why did Apple allow them to decide this? I don't get it... it is quite obviously fleecing the customer, charging them twice for the same data.

Hopefully the DevTeam will unlock this, wrest it from AT&T's control.

with the switching between apps thing... how would one know what app they are going to, say they want to get to a certain app, would they just start swiping til they find it.

and its four fingers to do everything? what about five fingers?

so if apple is seeding this now to be launched in march-ish, how come they haven't seeded 4.2.5 as thats launching in early february

Installed on iPad, new multitouch gestures are sweet, but can see myself activating them accidentally. Also what about quad+ touch drawing and doodling apps?
So good to see the switch to return to something usefull

Any performance improvements on the iPad?

4.2.5 is what the presentation CDMA phones had. If they are in fact released with that version, then they too will have access to the 4.3 update when that is released shortly after. I expect.
