-AirPlay from IPhone 4S messes with network functionality of AirPlay necessitating a hard reset of the device, iW1 or Zeppelin Air.

There will be no battery fix.

There will be, there is a noticeable difference between the iPhone 4 on 4.3.x vs 5.0 and they have been making strides to improve it.

As to the 4S, there are improvements in the 5.1 series but yes people will simply adjust and won't notice so much.

I'm in the camp that would prefer photo stream to only upload photos that I choose, rather than simply uploading them all. Uploading all automatically is useful at times but others its just a right pain (like taking screen grabs of bugs and what not)

installing ios 5.1 beta 2

quick question - can you still do an upgrade in itunes or do you have to restore the iphone to install beta 2? just wondering. thanks.

I did an upgrade. Worked great.

I am on the road for work and away from my home computer. However, I would like to update my phone from beta 1 to beta 2, but do not want to lose my music and pictures.

If I install a fresh copy of itunes on my work PC, and do SHIFT+update, will it erase all of my personal data or music?

Does anyone have experience on just UPDATING phones on a separate PC?

As long as you immediately stop the sync when you hook it up, then make sure to choose not to delete anything when and if it prompts you, then choose the UPDATE option, you will be fine.

As soon as you get the message that your phone has been restored and will reappear in itunes, disconnect. Everything should be there.

I would also backup to icloud just in case so you could restore on wifi if needed.

Does this fix the poor custom ringtone sound quality on the 4S?

My tones are perfect. Maybe it's the ones you're using.

It makes PERFECT sense. It's called Photo Stream, not Video Stream, or Camera Stream.

Wow, there's a weird echo in hear... I'm sure I'd already said that...

I can't fathom why deletion wasn't present from the start, but this is great!! Now I can finally use the thing.

It was in ios 5 beta 1 on iPad, but was greyed out and disappeared from beta 2 onwards. Glad it's now back properly.

they also need to make it so that you can crop/edit photos and save as a new photo like video editing.

I hate taking a photo and wanting to edit it only to lose the original photo.

Great: Apple fixed the problem of wrong order in playlists (e.g. "Top" or "recently added") and IM+ doesn't crash with beta 2 anymore.

Has anyone tested this to see if it works?

I saw somewhere else on-line that when you delete from the photo stream it specifically says it only removes "from the photo stream on this iPhone". They said they didn't see it delete from their iPhoto, but they didn't have any other iOS 5.1 devices ("Photos taken using iOS 5.1 can be deleted from Photo Stream on your device and will be removed automatically from Photo Stream on your other iOS 5.1 devices").

If that's they case, hopefully it'll apply to iPhoto too, but I'd like to be able to delete via iPhoto also...

Does it fix the video titles not displaying properly in the Video app? Mine disappear in the covert art background.

Really looking forward to this. Wasn't sure if this was an iTunes, iOS, or Match issue, but it's been driving me crazy that I can't do something as simple as have my "Recently Added" playlist correctly sync to my iPhone.

I hope people realize deleting photos from
The photostream only deletes photos from the stream on THAT device and not others. So basically once the photos hit the stream because you weren't quick enough to remove them from the camera roll they will hit the stream then sync to all other devices. Then if you remove from your phone or iPad it only removes them from that individual phone.

Still kinda bogus

Please please please be a battery fix!

It seems that by all indications Apple can't fix the battery problem. No worries, at least we have a new iPhone coming up that may not have this issue.

Think of it like Antennagate without all the condescending talk from the CEO.

This is what I really like about Tim Cook, he's a classy respectful guy that doesn't point the finger & blame it on us like Steve did. Nor is he trashing the competitors like Steve did "they all do it".

Tim Cook makes Apple look good.

I don't mind having a crappy battery when you have a great guy like Cook. You know he's doing everything possible and it's simply beyond their control. The next iPhone will be better.

Cook is a strong, stable, level headed leader. One thats not moody, he doesn't have anger issues, just a real intelligent guy. A guy that is widely respected within Apple, as I've heard from those I know who've been there for years.

It's only going to get better.

If you option click on Check for Updates it will let you pick the file. If you are on windows it's shift click.

Also the AppleTv update does not fix the Netflix issue.

CAREFUL!

I did the option click on RESTORE and it needed to be restored from a backup. I wasn't aware of the Option click on "Check for Updates". (Thanks for the info)

Figure as I have the backup and iTunes library with me might as well do the restore - but if it truly works for those travelling it could be a life saver if the beta expires before you get home.

From my recollection and playing around with photos it's not actually cropping your photos. It's more like saving it. When you go back to edit, you can undo most of the edits you did. Give it a try.
