i updated my iphone to the IOS 5.1 beta 2 and cant activate it and wanna restore it or downgrade and dont know how

please help

Who needs Photostream deletion when we really need a battery fix.

I am into my fourth iPhone4S atm but still only manage to get 4 hours on 3G. It was a bit better on 5.0 when compared with 5.0.1., but hey: no possibility to downgrade, Apple.

Fix the battery or I am returning the fourth iPhone4s.

Guys, looks like the battery issue is fixed - my iPhone 4S drained about ~5 % per hour in standby - now it's running almost 2 1/2 h and it's still at 100%

*yipeah*

I will edit this post if it draines again!

Never really had big battery issues but normally have 6-8 % battery drain overnight after this 5.1 beta 2 although I know it's still too early to judge battery life I only lost 2% overnight with everything on fetch email , reminders etc.

I'm still on my 1st iPhone 4s n happy so far. I'm sorry to hear about yours but I think the latest beta release may have fixed it ( touch wood)

Go to YouTube and search for a video on how to put your phone in DFU mode. Then do a restore in iTunes.

2 1/2 h and it's still at 100%?
Are you sure? Can you do more test? Maybe use until the battery drains then charge it 100% and see if the above statement still holds true.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9B5127c Safari/7534.48.3)

@greythorne: It did hold up another hour, then I got an sms and the draining started again :( now I'm at 85%

Deleting photos from PS only works on iOS devices. Stil not possible to delete them from your Mac. Only way of getting rid of them on the Mac is to switch PS off in iPhoto preferences and switch it back on.
This has got to be fixed.

Same thing happened to me on 5.1 v1, managed to stop the draining by formating and turning off basicly every feature from the setup page (including icloud) and not installing any apps or media. But after using it for alittle surfing or getting a text or taking a phonecall it started again and was just as bad as with features turned on.

This is stupid. Why are they releasing 5.1 with only ONE new thing?

IMO it should have been a 5.0.2 release.

Most likely they're not. Betas usually have far more changed than is listed in the notes (mostly bug fixes although occasionally a few new features).

Also,

The first beta included only minor changes to maps and iTunes Match changes. Second beta added Photostream fixes and the next few betas will probably have some more prominent things. Apple doesn't usually release .X releases without something they consider major.

From my recollection and playing around with photos it's not actually cropping your photos. It's more like saving it. When you go back to edit, you can undo most of the edits you did. Give it a try.

Nice find, worked like a charm!

This is planned for iOS 5.2 and iPhoto 12 ..

So much easier on Windows :) we just delete and it's gone...

So....it's been a few days?... Do we have the all clear on batterygate? Will I finally have a fully working iPhone that doesn't require a charge every few hours?

Someone please tell me it's all ok.

If you have restored your phone as new, and not installed any apps, and have not set up any mail and you still get the high idle drain-take it back, it's not going to be fixed via 5.1.
