Yup. I hope so :)

It's also the buttons replaced with just text, as in Messages and Mail. In iOS 6, the buttons in apps are much more distinguishable. Example, Mail.

In the iOS 7 design language, buttons are identified by the app's color accent. For example in mail they are blue, in calendar they are red.

I'm not arguing that it's better than iOS 6 beveled button outlines, but I think the reasoning is that spotting colors is one of the most basic function of the human brain visual cortex.

And while this is not necessarily obvious at first, it's possible that it can become an instinctive discovery process (because it taps into a basic function of the brain) even with non-techies which may not even realize that tappable text is colored, but will instinctively navigate their way around without thinking about it. That would be the theory at least.

HA! lol... Really? You thought 'beta' meant 100% functional software? Oh, that's good. Your world is really tiny, huh? :D
Lol...
Ya, so software is written by a relatively small group of programmers, in order to produce a product that will run on a MASSIVE number of devices, and support a MASSIVE number of apps, written by an equally large number of developers. So, in order to GET the OS to 100%, they release 'beta' versions for two reasons - (1) to give devs an opportunity to code their apps to work well with the new OS, and (2) to give devs a chance to test the OS on a scale MUCH larger than the original programmer pool, so they can report bugs and defects so they can be fixed before a public release.
Not your fault for not knowing this. It's only been the standard, no-Shiite way that products have been developed since the beginning of the industrial revolution. Since you don't read and all, of course you wouldn't know.

People. We should take this moment to reflect upon those unfortunate few born without a sarcasm detector, and respect the special challenges they face daily throughout the course of their lives.

Challenges the rest of us take for granted!

spent a couple hours trying to get it to work:

1. on the air upgrade (starting from a beta 1 with ios 6 backup loaded) --> stuck

2.restored beta 2 from itunes (out of dfu) --> worked

3.loaded the ios backup --> stuck at the same point of 1)

so I went back to beta 1 + ios 6 backup.
tonight I'll try to back the beta 1 up, upgrade and load the beta 1 backup :apple:

Thanks. Really. I'll try real hard to be super mature like you.

I'll make sure findmy iphone is off before backing up (read that might be the issue )

Optimizing it for older devices is probably one of the last things they'll do. In previous OSs, some features which were originally not available on older devices became available, or worked better than they did in early betas.

And some features which were available became not available. Like AirPlay on 2nd gen iPod touch.

iPad 2 WiFi Rev A iOS 7 Beta 2

iPad 2 WiFi iOS 7 Beta 2

Someone tell me what the difference between them 2 are?

Rev A is the original iPad 2 released after the iPad 1 and before iPad 3. The other one is the silently updated iPad 2 released at the same time as the iPad 3 and continues to be sold.

EDIT: I think it is the other way around.

I really can't understand all the hate for these new icons, I've been using iOS7 on my iPhone 5 since the day iOS7 b1 was released and like the new design. The side by side image comparison posted earlier in the thread just emphasises how much cleaner the new icons look to me, just look how hideous Facetime was before.

The style of the old icons was acceptable at the time when trends were focused on making things look "Web 2.0" with textures, drop shadows, fake glass and heavy gradients. That style has been around for over 7 years now and graphic designers have moved on. If you visit any decent graphic design blog you'll see the use of such techniques on logos and in brand identities is heavily criticised.

My only complaints would be 1) The Game Centre icon, it'd look much better if it was completely flat, as I said earlier fake glass is outdated now and 2) The 2nd beta of iOS7 seems to have added gradients to the message app, I preferred the look in the first beta.

On a side note will I have to register my UDID to get this installed on my iPad Mini or is it possible to bypass it as with the first beta?

I think it has been fixed

Does anybody know how to correct the wallpaper from "over-sizing" and zooming in on it? Or is this just a bug in the beta? :apple:

Also, since iOS 7 I can no longer go to music, artist, and listen to all songs from that artist. The only way I can is through Siri...sigh

After updating to beta 2, I believe they fixed this problem. My background for my lockscreen had resized itself after the update and there was some black at the top, which confirms to me that it canceled the auto-zoom feature, which may have been a bug.

1.) I believe the gradients were already in the messages app in beta 1. 2.) Yes you can install beta 2 on your iPad Mini without being a developer, I just put it on my iPad 2 and don't have my UDID registered. Just got to a website like *****.com and they have the ipsw available for download. Then backup your iPad (always do this first), restore your iPad to the latest iOS version through iTunes, then you can restore it from a backup, though many on the forum have said it works better to set up your iPad as a new iPad. Then on a MAC hold down OPTION and click the CHECK FOR UPDATES button in the Summary section for your iPad, and navigate the search menu to find the ipsw you downloaded for your correct iPad version. Sorry if you didn't need this tutorial, but I thought someone could use it.

Can someone tell me how the 4 finger gestures work on iPad with the new multitasking system? Especially when you use four fingers to pull up.

Hey guys, with iOS 7 you can add a logo to your email signature... that's pretty cool!!

wow. Lots of words to express petty thoughts. Ugh.

And so few to do the same.

I've been running it for about 24 hours so far on my iPhone 5 and it is much snappier than before with quite a few bug fixes.

The only problems I've seen so far and wanted to see if others were having this, but on my iPad iOS 7 is really slow. The animations lag when rotating, the keyboard freezes up and lags. I didn't even have that much of a problem on my iPhone with the first beta and that was pretty buggy from my experience.

With the greatest of respect, if the worst thing MR members mention about iOS 7 is its icons then I think it's going to be a resounding success. Changing icons isn't as difficult as, for instance, adding new features.

I'm really enjoying iOS 7. All I can possibly suggest is that they add toggle 3G on/off to that swipey-bottom-thing (I'm sure Apple have a name for it, which I can't quite remember right now )

In order the change the system icons, you would need to jailbreak it first... and no one knows how difficult it would be to jail break iOS7... (though I believe it will be jail broken at some point).

Color consciousness is actually pretty advanced in terms of the anatomy of mammal visual cortex:)

You kids talk about this like it's a finished piece of software in need of tweaks. $99 poorly spent...
