In Japan... iPhone e-mail is weird, and needs to be fixed because SMS does not exist in Japan! Push e-mail is just... the way to go.
Anyway what happens. You don't have Push e-mail in Japan (although they adopted it for all phones about 10 years ago and never had SMS to multiple cariers... only to people on your carier).
When you get an e-mail the fact that you've received an e-mail is "Pushed" to you, and your e-mail is checked instantly (although it's IMAP e-mail). Big problem... there's no vibration or sound!!!
This would be okay if SMS was mainstream in Japan like it is in America... but nobody uses SMS (or knows the acronym) in Japan, so it's confusing, and feature-poor... just for Japan. Why can't they fix this? You get a pop-up saying "you've got mail!" but no sound or vibration!
