I'm in the same situation

I downloaded and upgraded iTunes before I tried to install Beta 4.

It put my phone on the pink "connect to iTunes" screen while updating, then before it finished verifying the phone with apple it stopped gave me an error and quit. Now I'm stuck on this screen. I can't restart my phone, it just goes back to the pink screen. If I connect it to iTunes is just says its in recovery mode and attempts to restore it but fails 'prepairing iPhone fore restore"

I've tried restarting my computer, restarting my phone. Nothing is working.

And yes, my number is registered with apple.

What do I do?

EDIT: Nevermind I forgot to try and restore by selecting what ipsw I restore with. I'm an idiot.

I tried to restore by selecting what ipsw I restore with. but it still doesn't work. How did u solve that problem???

Anyone having issues with iTunes 8.2 crashing like crazy? First run was OK, got the iPhone updated to b4 and did a sync. then now it seems like it just crashes no matter what I'm doing after only a few minutes.

I ended up going back to 8.1.1 which is stable again, but, of course, can't sync with iPhone 3.0 b4 ( I can live without syncing for a while, I guess )

Kept submitting crash reports, but got too annoying. Probably wait until the next one to try again.

I have upgraded to 3.0 without any problems.

The phone seems to work fine, Internet Tethering is working - and I can send MMS (and have checked they are received by others!).

I cannot receive MMS? - I Still get the annoying message from O2 - UK saying I need to log in etc....

Is their a block on the account by O2 and if so has anybody been successful in getting their account modified to allow incoming MMS?

Regards,

Beta Testers .... Updates

Hi Beta Testers -

I know (or at least I think) you aren't able to comment on specific components of the 3.0 software but can you tell us if the bi-weekly updates are showing improvements each time, fantastic improvements, or does it seem to move to the other side of the spectrum? In other words, are we getting closer or does it seem this roll out could be later than we all think?

Thanks, now back to beta-ing.

I have this annoying bug that when I pull my phone out of my pocket and push the lock button to unlock, the slider will not register my touch at all. I have to toggle the lock button like 5 times before i can slide the lock bar. It's VERY annoying.

Anyone else with this problem?

I don't see a problem, but I'm using that same exact wallpaper! Sweet! I like it.
I think the problem is that all the menu stuff is gone.

After looking at the issues in the betas (which I'm sure will be gone by the release) I really wouldn't mind if 3.0 were postponed until Fall as long as it's as stable as 2.2

I think I discovered a new feature in Beta 4. But i'm not sure if it was there before. But in the app store on the phone you can now sign in to other accounts.

You lose all of your menu info when you place a call? Come on, people, read before you post!

I did read, thanks. When I place a call I don't have the option to add a call or hold the call until it is an "active" call. After it is ringing or the other person picks up, both of these become active buttons.

I get that all the time with beta 4. I expect problems, but it sucks with an incoming call.

Anyone get stuck letter key popups if you go to spotlight, while pressing and holding a letter key, press the home button. I accidentally did this when in a hurry. For me, key popup keeps showing on various screens until another key from the keyboard is typed. This is a 100% repeatable bug for me.

Not a major problem, but I'm sure it shouldn't happen. I should probably post it on Apple's bug report instead of here - headed there now...

He's talking about the menu up top.

I checked on mine and it's there so you might want to restore.

To the poster above, I have that as well. Kinda funny having a random letter haha.

Yeah, in OS X (The OS the iPhone runs) we call it the menubar. Although I realize in programming the calls go to the "statusbar".

Yeah. Being in college as a Windows programmer myself, I consider menu the options that are displayed while the call is being placed. The status bar would be showing the time, signal strength, and battery life.
