When will Office 2008/Expose/Spaces finally be fixed?

Indeed !

My (and many others') major issue with excel windows freezing my Macs graphics (only solved by a hard reboot) is not listed. The freeze is caused by leopard's graphics update after 10.5.2 and has clearly been pointed out as Apple's fault. Fix this Apple, it is unacceptable.

I wish it weren't true but FileVault is definitely deserving of that nickname, I'm hoping that 1) Apple will make Mac OS X bootable off of ZFS and 2) At that time, ZFS will have fully implemented file system level encryption (which is currently alpha) instead of the um.. "workaround" that Apple uses with VileFault and HFS+.

Could be later today, often these things are released on Tuesday.

Personally, Leopard has never really felt "finished" to me. I don't know what specific things are triggering this feeling. Maybe it the glass dock which looks like a draft drawing to me, not a final version. Or the "view options" window in Finder which doesn't seem properly thought out.

I don't know - it just feels like a work in progress a lot more than previous versions have. No proud person went over it with the polishing rag.

I agree. Leopard was released when it was to avoid comparisons to Vista. From the install process on they had somethings that weren't quite ironed out. They probably should have just bitten the bullet and released it around Macworld.

I'd now like to agree, after trying several times, Disk Utility absolutely refuses to partition my internal HDD so I can move my home folder to it, still troubleshooting but at this point it looks like there's nothing I can do right now until Apple fixes it.

I want the MacBook sleep issue fixed. Every time I wake it up (Penryn BlackBook), I get a cursor with loads of artefacts. I don't know what I'm clicking and have to find some object with a hover-over to get the mouse back.

Oh, and the startup time is way too long. And we should have a button to disable the startup sound for good. Whatever sound setting your mac was on when it went to sleep.

PLease please

Please just get scanners working again. Not that image capture sucks (IC still works while all my twain drivers fail) But when doing bulk scans its just no good at all. Had to rervert my macbook to 10.5 to do batch scanning.

Have to say i'm not having any of the issues people have been getting on my MacBook. The only gripe i have with Leopard now is the permissions issue and the fact that animations are still slow...so maybe a GPU driver update would be nice.

Oh yeah, one big faux pas i wish they would fix would be to bring back the Spotlight results window that Tiger has rather than the current disorganised list of Finder results you get when you search

Also an option to turn off that 3D dock would be nice without resorting to Terminal

But no sleep issue, airport issue, DVD+4GB KP issue etc. Maybe i should keep my macbook and not sell it after all since its issue free

well hopefully that 4gb kernel problem when playing dvds with dvd player is resolved

When will Office 2008/Expose/Spaces finally be fixed?

Office 2008 is owned, supported, and developed by Microsoft - so don't hold your breath. I was in the Apple store last night looking for more products to run natively on my mac; so I could ditch running windows all together - thank God some of the macs had Office 2008 loaded, so that I could play with it. Crashed it 3 times just doing basic stuff, and it was horrible to work with (and I thought Office 2007 on windows was bad). looks more and more like iwork or something else for me.

I agree that it will be very soon. Most likely before WWDC.

I don't know why I am looking forward to this update  I never had any problems with my mac :D

On the other hand, my office looks like a dell factory/graveyard. I have a desktop for work (I work at home, telecommuting), in the 3 months since I had it the power supply, motherboard, and hard drive went. my 2 yr old dell laptop's DVD burner is dying, and I have a friend's Dell laptop that I need to replace the LCD for him (only 1 year old and out of warrenty).

well at least I never applied an Apple update and have the entire system crash on me, unlike Windows.

This unfortunately proves nothing; the developer (Wil Shipley) has been posting on Twitter for weeks that DL2 is finished and he's waiting for 10.5.3 that should be out soon, he just decided not to wait any longer and to have a message on start up.

I need a safari fix. The web browser is just so buggy and crashes at least once a week. Other than that 10.5.2 has been pretty solid.

Do you think apple will ever include a audio out function to airport? I know of third party software but we should not have
to pay for such a function. I stream Sirius for my Howard Stern and would love to hear the show and other programming on my kick ass stereo.

10.5.3 cannot come soon enough.

I really hope that 10.5.3 works out whatever bugs are plaguing my MBP. Since upgrading, it seems like my battery life is down drastically.

My biggest gripe being that my pointer frequently disappears, essentially freezing the laptop. The only way to get it to come back is to shut the lid, wait a few seconds, and reopen it. It always works but is frustrating.

Still, not as bad as 7.5.2. :D

Unfortunately, this is a problem on Microsoft's end, and it won't be going away anytime soon. Microsoft has said that, to fix the problem of windows not going into their proper spaces, they would have to re-write a lot of their UI code. That's what they get for using a ton of non-standard programming conventions (e.g. the tabs in notebook view, the way their pages and text are rendered and displayed, etc.).

i have told my mates about my problems (jumping spaces, and spaces visiable over other windows). no one seemed to comment on it, nice to know it's an MS problem, but shame it's not being fixed :(

I'm looking forward to the graphics boost that is rumored to be in 10.5.3. Better nVidia drivers for the 8800GT.

My friend used to have a problem with Safari crashing all the time... that is until I had him check how many plug-ins he had installed. He had like 20 plug-ins that he'd collected over the years and some of them were simply causing compatibility issues. Once he took out all the old ones and only keep the essentials, his Safari ran a whole lot faster and more stable. My Safari almost never crashes. (And when it does, it's from a porn site or something... I have no idea how it gets to the sites though ;))

The volume has to have Journaling turned on and you have to hit the (+) button in order to add a new partition because if you use the drop-down menu to choose how many partitions you want, it will ask you to erase the drive..... but, if you hit the plus icon, it will not ask you to erase the drive, you just have to make sure Journaling is turned on (I believe you can do it from the File menu).
