contains drivers for upcoming MBP update ?

any coder here that can confirm that the 10.6.3 contains new stuff to support i5/i7 CPU and possibly new VGA Ati 5830 for the rumored release of new MBP this month or March ?

I'm hoping for some iPad features to trickle down, but maybe we have to wait until the next OSX major release. An iMac with a multi-touch display and the contextual menus like the iPad would be neat-o. A new version of iWorks with some iPad enhancements too please.

What about the 'error -36' one regularly gets while copying files/folders from Mac on to a USB drive?
It's not just me. Google it and you'll see many more are affected by this. Tried almost everything suggested. 'error -36' still shows up!
The only way around is: Copy files one-by-one. Coz once you drag-n-drop an entire folder, the error -36 pops up!
I hope Apple fixes this. It's an irritating bug!

Besides complaining about your problem on message boards like this, have you told Apple about it at:

????????

What problem are you having with expose, other than from Chrome users I havent heard of any issues with Expose.

Im not having any problems with 10.6.2 so really this is just another excuse for me to keep ignoring software update.

I really don't like the new exposé, if you have two windows instead of putting them side by side to view largely and keeping them a good size, it puts them in tiny little thumbnails stacked vertically leaving a huge amount of unused space on the screen while i have to squint to figure out which one i want, also, when you have more than about three windows open the are all the same size and usually go in the exact direction you don't expect it to go (like a window on the left will go to the right when in exposé) finally, they are all the same size, so my adium chat will be the same size as a safari window the size of my screen so its much harder to tell which window you want. expose actually slowed down my workflow quite a bit

also, it pushes the processer so much harder than leopard. my macbook battery went from 3-4 hours to 1-2 hours. It also increased my temps from 40-50c to 60-75 on even the 9400m card! I once tried to watch a hulu video with the 9600 enabled, it hovered at 80-85c with the fans at 6000 rpm! absolutely ridiculous. flash videos shoot the temps through the roof and it is actually less pleasant to use my macbook than my old crappy toshiba vista computer both heat and noise wise on snow leopard.

anyways, i just downgraded back to 10.5.8 and its much better, typing this message im at 40c (2000 fans) rather than 70c (3000 fans) with snow leopard. can anyone let me know if when 10.6.3 comes out if it fixes all the heat and exposé issues with macbook pros?

other than that i haven't had many other issues with sl, but until then i will wait to upgrade

Didn't Apple revise the MacBook not too far back? :p

Well you know how computing and components are evolving really fast.

The thing is you can't customize/change your component and they didn't update the Macbook Pros for a Year !!

I ended up switching back to an XPS that I needed for work because of their lateness.

10.6 has been especially buggy for a release touted as focused on stability not features. In hindsight I suspect that was code for we're busy with iPhone OS and the integration issues with 10.6.

I was hoping 10.6.3 would be the release for grandma, but I wonder now. I definitely will be waiting a couple of weeks after release before I dive and let the crash test dummies feel the pain.

10.5.x and 10.6.x continue to be bug fix installs for me. The real work still gets done on 10.4.11 and 9.2.2. Plenty of folks I talk to talk about getting a G4 again for functionality and leave the Intel macs for media manipulation.

Did you know you can push the spacebar and zoom in on the expose windows?

So much for those reports of Blu-Ray movie playback finally being delivered in 10.6... *annoyed*

Hopefully iTunes will finally go 64-bit?

Maybe Apple should disallow flash on Mac OS X until they make a 64-bit version too? :D j/k

Mac 10.6.2 HDTV HDMI via DisplayPort connectivity is abysmal, in my experience...
Dude, what does this have to do with this thread? iTunes doesn't get upgraded with OSX, it gets updated every September along with the iPods. And they wouldn't add big features like blu ray in a 10.6.x release, they do that in a 10.X release. Your only hope as of now is 10.7. Unless Apple's start shipping with blu ray drives before 10.7 comes, blu ray playback is highly unlikely.

There's been this bug with the Put Back feature. When you drag a file from a Stack to the Trash, and then right click it, the Put Back option is missing.

Any word on if this update fixes it?

Your welcome.

I've been running all the development builds and myself, I've only had a few things I have issues with (and reported them).

General users should expect this to be a bug fix and nothing more. It's pretty solid AFAIK.

yea, i did find that out, i still find it much slower to use than leopard's exposé, its much faster and easier to find the window you want imo

thanks though

Are you serious? Are you saying 10.5.8 isn't stable enough for you?

I agree, Mac OS X hasn't been rock solid since Leopard was released. It's as if Apple doesn't care any more.

Okay, I have problems with people who state things like this. Snow Leopard runs amazingly for me. It's been a VERY solid upgrade so far and it's only going to get better. I don't understand why everyone has problems with it. What are you doing to your computer to make it run like that?

I love Snow Leopard. I admit it. It doesn't crash and it's wicked fast.

Note: Those have been my experiences, so don't bash me.

usually it is related to fat32 limits. Make a try and USA hfs+ or ntfs (with mac fuse). Or just zip these files, you will see it works. Fat32 sucks.

Same here, and also same experience from all my friends! Solid and fast!

What an annoying comment.

Apple makes computing hardware and software. Macs are just one product line. Who says that computers need to fit a certain design/form factor?

All of their stuff, aside from their traditional iPods, run a variant of OS X. So why the negativity about Apple not supporting their Macs?

I know, it was sarcasm, but really... why bother?

To get a rise out of the faithful. Works everytime.
And the reason it works so well is the underlying truth of it.
Few things in life are as heartwarming as the sight of righteous indignation.

I guess this means the end of the SL beta. :D
