Let's see... if i were a developer and had access to this build i think i'd be using grep to see if there are any references to new drivers. Perhaps nVidia 470 or 480 and maybe ATI 5850 or 5870, but that's just me. Too bad i'm not a developer and don't have access to the build. :(

Graphics Drivers, SMB, USB, Voice Over, and VPN.

None of these really apply to me. Besides, my 10.6.3 has been silky smooth with no problems, so from here onwards I don't see a point in upgrading, perhaps until the last 10.6 update when it's as near to perfect as it will ever be.

yesh. 3rd build with no documented issues? What's the hold up? I mean, I love how Apple is making sure everything works right, unlike another company... but still. I just want to see if the upgraded graphics drivers improve performance in my Steam games like HL2.

The graphics driver changes are just some minor bug fixes. So you will not see any difference.

Build 10F564 seems nice and stable for me with an 8600M GT card, faster than 10.6.3 as well (10.6.3 had some real crappy OpenGL performance for some reason). It is 'out and about' on the tubes, if you want it, just take a look around.

What's with all this irrational sense of entitlement? Relax. It'll come soon enough.

Well, what else is new? Nothing. They're dragging their feet on 10.6.4 like they're dragging their feet on everything connected with OS X. We've had all sorts of events, but it's all iphone, ipad, ipod... where is 10.7? Let's face it, they even cut Mac OS awards for developers at the latest event. Meanwhile Windows 7 has either caught up to Snow Leopard, or is very close to doing so. I don't think Apple give a hoot about the Mac OS anymore. So don't be surprised if they drag and drag on 10.6.4... what's the hurry from their point of view - they'll only hit 10.6.9 sooner and then what, everyone will expect 10.7 - so better drag it all out until 2015 when maybe finally perhaps if they feel like it they'll release 10.7, which will be a polish on Snow Leopard ("No new features!").

Oh, how wrong you are. Weekly builds = progress. If I recall correctly, last releases major change (which wasn't listed) was that they recompiled the kernel. Work is definitely being done, these seeds prove it. Also, you do know there's different development branches right..... Apple's been working on 10.7 or whatever they'll choose to call it, and it more than likely will contain a new file system-- that's not something you rush. The next OS release will in fact be feature rich; this is how the cycle works. Expect 10.7 next year; I'd personally say early to mid year, but that's just me. Besides, a valid question; do you know when the next windows is going to come out? I'll give you a hint; long after 10.7.

Mails rules off bottom of the screen

Do more than 25 Mail rules still cause the Rules Window to extend off the bottom of the page, taking the control button out of view?

Mail rules windows extending off the bottom of the screen issue has been a repeatedly confirmed issue since OSX 10.4, confirmed many times by Apple Geniuses, Apple phone support and on-line Apple tech support. Is OSX 10.6.4 another example of Mail Rules Window over flow = 1, OSX fixes = 0 ???

A company that ISN'T forced by "the market" and "investors" to release new versions, whether they are ready or not. Apple knows that if they take care of the consumer, the money will eventually come.

Kinda different than most other tech companies.

Another correction version

Does that mean that 10.7 will correct the things that 10.6 was either suppose to correct or that 10.6 broke. The only reason that that am running 10.6 at all is because I just purchased a second class 17" I7 Intel MacBook Pro. All those things missing like QuadCore, numeric keypad on laptop, card reader slots in addition to Express card slot & a lot of other things The Intel MacBook Pro may be pretty to look at but it lacks so many things.

I figure like others have said that 10.7 may be out sometime after MS comes out with an update or past Windows 7, say Windows 9 or Windows 10 in its 128 bit form. But at least we will only have one version to purchase for all of the things we wanted to do a few years ago.

Just like the upper levels of the US government is giving into & embracing socialism & communism, Apple seems to want Windows to rule in the computer market, letting the evil empire MS win the battle. But remember that our Macs are really Windows computers in an aluminum case.

New Mac Pro Now = TOO SOON

i'm getting really tired they haven't mentioned something about a new mac pro?

I don't worry about a new Mac Pro for at least 18 months. My 1st gen model was current from Aug 2006 to at least Jan of 2008. Just remember how much more often we saw updates with the G5 PowerMac. But we have Intel with faster updates now that we have Intel processors. But I guess that switch was so that we could run Windows XP & Windows 7 faster.

Hardly surprising given that Apple has less than 20 different computers to test the software on. If they had to test as many possible configurations as Windows, we would still be in Mac OS 6.1.
Qnother thing, guys: just relax. There are no new features in this release. If it works, you won't notice anything, if it doesn't, it's bad for you, so let them do their job.

Boycott Apple Boycott AT&T

EVERY new build has changes.

Ones that you can see with your eyes ? Probably not. But trust me. There ARE changes.

Why does Google have to take the place of Microsoft with many Mac people with comments like boycott Google. To help insure that Apple does not rest on their laurels like they have with OS X we need companies that will provide some competition with Apple. It seems it will take the like of Google to provide this. Remember that everyone doesn't like the very limited choice that there is with Apple. That doesn't mean that Google is better or worst than Apple. It just means that we have some choice. Everybody does not like Apple as well as everybody does not like Google. Just think of how much MS sells & how many Google or Apple supporters think that there should be no MS.

Please Apple? Is it too much to ask for better drivers for my gma-x3100 so the glitches vanish? :(

Likewise, I have suffered too much from problems with the x3100. I even filed a bug report with Apple and they requested that I run the diagnostics from the MacOS installation DVD to verify that my hardware is healthy. Since then, nothing much.

Anecdotally, I can note that ever since I installed click2flash (which deactivates all Flash elements from web pages, including ads, until the user clicks on each one of them individually) the problems have disappeared. I don't know if this is
i) a coincidence
ii) a result of lower hardware temperatures
iii) the result of a low-level bug in Flash

I love how Apple is making sure everything works right, unlike another company... but still.

Erm, by definition, if they did that, then we wouldn't need those 10.6.x updates, right?

I hope 10.6.4. fixes the interminably slow Samba mounts...

I hope they correct an annoying bug which occurs to me once in a while: The files and folders on my desktop get aligned in the right part of the screen. This means I have to loose like 2 minutes organizing everything again...

Flash sucks!!

…… I don't know if this is
i) a coincidence
ii) a result of lower hardware temperatures
iii) the result of a low-level bug in Flash

Try number three, flash sucks on every platform it runs on. The only reason it sort of works on Windows is because of hardware acceleration.
