Nah...if you squint your eyes, you'll read 'Location' or something like that.

That's odd, I'm running 10.5 9A500 and that isn't there. What does it mean? I thought maybe it related to switching between Mac OS X and Windows Emulation. What does Location refer to? Any one who has Beta 9A527 know if that is there?

In Tiger it gives you

Location:
Automatic
Ethernet

1. Haven't played around with Mail alot, but it does seem a little more stable. It hasn't crashed yet, and it synced all my mail accounts from .Mac. I haven't really tried todo's and notes because all it does it piss me off that I can't yet sync them to the iphone.

2. About stacks, they are really customizeable. You can't yet use a smart folder (of say recently used apps), but you can just create a normal folder inside the Applications directory, and just drag your favorite applications. What I did was create three additional stacks to the downloads one. One is all my user installed applications, the other is all the iApps and safari ect.., and the last one is an iLife stack. So now the left side of the dock, only shows the open applications, and it makes the dock very seamless looking. Whats really cool about the stacks, is the icon for any particular stack shows the first two icons for the stack overlaying each other. So for my user installed stack, it shows adium on top of aol radio. So yes, you can tell what type of stack it is without even opening it up.

3. see 2.

Here's a nice little screenshot.

Wow man, how many emails do you have unread? 500-something?

I had to register just to correct you. Jobs did mention the feature during his keynote. He pulled down the dropdown menu under the Apple logo and it showed "Switch to Windows..." as a menu item. Some of the audience cheered, others laughed.

The item hasn't been available in any of the betas presumably because there's no compatible or stable version of Boot Camp that supports the fast switching feature. Also, "Switch to Windows..." would need to be reworded. Not exactly what you want users switching to Macs to read.

The feature could have been pulled or will reappear. There's no notice to developers.

Do you have any proof of this because I don't recall this ever happening. I followed the keynote live and have viewed it but this was never talked about. If it did exist I'm pretty sure this site or other sites would have mentioned it and their would be a few topics about it. The only thing I remember is the brief leak on Apple's website listing the feature which was removed quickly. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think your mistaken about this.

I'm not sure if it was discussed at the WWDC keynote, but immediately after the keynote when apple.com was updated, on the Boot Camp page it mentioned something involving fast switching to Windows. The feature was soon after removed from the page when an attendee at WWDC was talking to a Boot Camp engineer about it who claimed it didn't work and had no idea that it was posted publicly.

Can someone with this build of Leopard please officially confirm that iChat does NOT have the screen sharing feature anymore??? The last screen shots I saw of iChat still had the button for it.... I hope it does so bad

I do too. This feature will be a huge boon for our business and one of the reasons why we were excited about Leopard.

It would really stink if this feature was removed.

I believe Jobs had mentioned fast-switching would be an option last year, and a lot of other people further assumed that Leopard would allow Windows based applications to run natively within OS X 10.5. Now it seems not even fast switching will make the final release. :(

...and I love the "patient grasshoppers" comment posted above lol :)

I don't mean to be one those those people but.... is it just me or do the new traffic light buttons not have enough edge definition around the bottom. They seem to sink in at the top but, the bottom just blends in with the gray title bar.... That kinda bugs me. I like Max's traffic lights buttons. They've got a nice beveled edge that makes them stand out just enough.

Its integrated into Finder as of now.
(the screen sharing feature)

Great. Thank you.

If I may trouble you answer another question, does iChat still have the ability to do a slide show or show a presentation during a video or audio chat?

That's another clutch feature for us. Thanks so much for your help.

???

iChat has screen sharing

Its integrated into Finder as of now.

So which is it??? I know it is in the Finder, but is it still in iChat as well??? I want a definitive answer from someone who is really using this version of Leopard please :)

P.S. Does Preview not have basic editing controls like they said it would, like crop etc...???

yes

Well if you look at the screen capture posted in this thread you will see a little icon that says select:) Note the arrow on the icon indicating a drop down menu of other tools...

Does anyone know if theyve added the option to "send to bluetooth device", when u right click on a say a jpg, instead of having to go through the usual long routine?
Would just be so much handier or is there a way to do this already? This is definitely a tiny feature i miss from windows ;)

If these are so crucial to your business/work I'd convince someone to invest $500 into an ADC Select account and just download the damn dmg yourself to test.

Rarely used features like that don't belong in a context menu imo. I also don't think a "New blank text document" feature like for Windows is a good idea for the same reason. They would just clutter it up and make it less efficient for normal tasks.

Excuse me?

Ok, first of all, it was NOT me that was saying I need them for my business, it was some other poster. Second, all I'm looking for is an answer not some smart a$$ remark

People on this site can really be pricks some times! There are a million people on here that want to know if screen sharing is still in iChat not just me. So apparently it is a well desired feature.

Thank you. I would be interested in knowing what tools they have included if anyone could tell me, and what is select really for??? It is like you select something and then you can't do anything, am I wrong? How is that meant to be used?

From what I understand, screen sharing still exists but it has been moves to the Finder. It isn't in iChat anymore. But then again, I have no special information.
