If you previously got the GM from apple via legitimate means, i.e., by redeeming a code for build 13A598 you can also get build 13A603 from the Purchases tab in the mac app store.

Then you can then make a bootable usb for build 13A603 using the exact same method I previously posted for build 13A598: https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/18081307/

Lol

so the first one wasn't really the golden master then was it...

Now you know why another, much larger operating system company uses "Release Candidate" to name the final test builds.

It's much less confusing to turn an RC into a GM, than to have multiple GMs floating about.

ML Runs fine on mine; I have the 2.6ghz i7, 8 gig RAM, 500 GB SSD model.

Do you have automatic graphics switching enabled in the Energy Saver control panel?

I have 2.7ghz i7, 16 gig RAM, 512 GB SSD model. No I don't, I have tried it with and without graphic switching - both runs crap - mission control is like 1fps so jerky, launch pad is also jerky to open and lags between screens. Scrolling on browsers is also horrible.

I will typically have a browser with 30 tabs, photoshop with a few images I'm editing and iTunes open (sometimes dreamweaver and sometimes Skype and that's about it - so really shouldn't run bad but it does) - but this is my third one with the same issue so i'm assuming it's a software problem.

My old 2010 MBP without retina runs perfectly. and that's only a base model 13" laptop!

Yep. Downloading now. Initially under Purchases it said Oct 3 date, stopped the download and closed MAS, on restart of MAS going into Purchases it now shows OSX Oct 20 date. I'm guessing A603 is the real (final) GM and it most likely will go live on the 22nd.

Edit: After the download completed (of Build A603) and after going back into the MAS now under purchases it says Oct 3rd date again, not 20th.

...Apple is reportedly targeting a late October launch for Mavericks and it's possible the company will give a final release date at Tuesday's media event...

That opens the road for the release of the new MacPro and maybe a new MacMini. I hope we see the new Pro soon after Tuesday.

It appears that only a few people can do it this way. In most cases there will be an error when trying to download it and there is no new redeem code for devs.

Are all the 13A598 users supposed to get the upgrade?

I am running 13A598 but have not received anything about a new release. No App Store update nor a redemption code via Appleseed.

Also, when I click the OS X Mavericks items in the Purchases tab (I really did get a redemption code for 13A598) it says "not available in the Dutch store".

Just wondering: how does this all work?

You should have OS X Mavericks in the list of purchased items. Just click on download to get it.

Glad they're squeaking in updates before it hits retail. It seems like every time we get a new OS, a patch is released shortly thereafter.

Main thing I noticed: help files now work for me.

I run Mavericks in french, and before this all help files would say something about help not beiing available for this content.

Interesting. I'll just stick with 598 and wait for 10.9.1. I've had no problems with mavericks so far.

Times is short..

I only predict a date, not that Apple would release Mavericks on Tuesday.

They can't anyway, new build is too close to event. There's no way Apple can get a final out in just 24 hours or so. The fact they they released a build short of Tuesday suggests they found more problems they needed to quickly patch..

Still.... not ready for prime time..

Yep those who think they are running the GM ahead of everyone else have to start all over again with a clean install :D

So unless you're happy to be stuck OS X 10.9.0 for the duration, you're wiping your machine and installing again.
Wipe my machine? Clean Install?

Wanna bet? :)

Look at the date of Mavericks on your App Store purchased list, also in your screen shot, the date says Oct. 4.....

This is also what I am getting, I would suspect that you cannot get the download until you see a later date.

My hope is that this was not really supposed to happen yet, and Apple will release an update along with the official release. (I REALLY don't want to do another clean install... :( )

Mavericks seems pretty finished. What's the likelihood of us getting a release on Tuesday?

Is anyone running adobe cs6 illustrator and photoshop on mavericks. I don't want so sign up to the cloud setup but want to make sure my existing setup will work ok with mavericks

IMO it's very likely. This isn't an update or a new seed to "test", I think it's an internal build change to Final and I think Tuesday it'll go live. Of course I've been wrong before so take it for what its worth.

Floating about where? Every developer knows which build they have and which build is the latest one. There's nothing confusing about it unless you are a 5 year old kid.

I think Mavericks will be the buggiest .0 release we've had for a while. I've been using GM since the beginning of october and I never had this many issues with a GM since Leopard. So I really hope .1 will come very soon. One thing amazing about Mavericks is Safari, it really is impressively snappy. No other browser will come close to it in terms of performance on Mac.
