I would be ecstatic, but I know you're joking :(

I am convinced that the reason Apple is taking so much time and being so careful with next iPhone/iOS update is they don't want a repeat of MobileMe, even if it means delaying the launch!

.....aaaaaand Tim Cook doesn't need a fiasco on his hands flying solo?;)

iTunes Beta 8 is Mac only, for the time being. Beta 7 is probably the PC version.

Good thought, but both versions are there for Mac.

Anyway, release notes for beta 8:

iTunes 10.5 Beta 8 Release Notes

iTunes 10.5 beta 8 includes several performance enhancements and bug fixes, and is a required update for all subscribers to iTunes Match beta.

Your iCloud libraries will be deleted at the end of this beta.

Backup regularly and do not delete the music you add to iCloud from your computer. Apple may periodically delete all iCloud libraries during the beta period. This will require you to scan, match, and upload songs again. Also note that some of the features and optimizations of iTunes Match may not be available during this beta.

About Subscribing

iTunes Match beta is available to iOS developers in the United States.
• iTunes Match beta is available as an automatically renewing subscription for $24.99 per year. You may cancel at any time from your Account settings.
• You can subscribe to iTunes Match using iTunes 10.5 beta 8 on your Mac. iTunes Match is not available with iTunes for Windows at this time. You cannot subscribe to iTunes Match from your iOS device.
• You can access your iCloud library on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch with iOS 5 beta, or your other computers with iTunes 10.5 beta 8.
• Once subscribed, you can add up to 25,000 songs to iCloud, and iTunes purchases do not count against this limit. iTunes Match will not add your apps, books, movies, TV shows, ringtones, and audiobooks to your iCloud library. These items can continue to be synced to your iOS device with iTunes. iTunes LPs and iTunes Extras are also unsupported.
• iTunes Match includes limits to how you may access your iCloud library:
- You can use iTunes Match on up to 10 computers and iOS devices, up to five of which can be computers authorized with your Apple ID.
- You can only associate computers and devices with a different Apple ID once every 90 days.

Getting Started

To subscribe to iTunes Match:
1. Install iTunes 10.5 beta 8 on your Mac
2. Open iTunes and choose Turn On iTunes Match from the Store menu
3. Click the Subscribe for $24.99 button and follow the onscreen instructions. Once
complete, your Music library will include songs on your computer and in iCloud.

Once iTunes has completed matching your music with the iTunes Store, you may begin accessing your iCloud library:
• From your iOS device:
1. Tap Settings > Music > turn iTunes Match ON.
This will disable syncing music with iTunes.
2. Press the Home button and tap Music.
• From your other computers:
1. Install iTunes 10.5 beta 8 on your other Macs
2. Open iTunes and choose Store > Sign In. Sign in using the same Apple ID you used to subscribe to iTunes Match.
3. Choose Store > Turn On iTunes Match
4. Click the Add This Computer button
5. Once complete, your Music library will include songs on your computer and in iCloud.

Known Issues

• Songs in unsupported formats will not be uploaded to iCloud at this time.
• The scan & match feature is not yet complete.
- Some songs may not match (even if they is available in the iTunes Store) and will be uploaded to iCloud.
- Other songs may match to a different version of the same song on the iTunes Store.
• You can only add music to iCloud from more than one computer at a time.
• After updating to iOS 5 beta 7, your music may fail to play. If this happens, turn off iTunes Match in Settings > Music, then turn it back on.

Can't wait for apple to server up this delicious dish of iCloud and iOS5. It is going to be yummy!

Is iTunes beta 8 not intended for those working with beta 7 on their iOS devices? Normally you have to backup before updating iTunes but I see no notes about that.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

No iOS beta update?
Hmmmm can smell the GM now.

Is the layout for the iTunes betas different then the current one?

Quick email button

I don't mean to go off topic, but I think I remember this mentioned in the iOS 5 presentation...

Is there a way to use a text shortcut to auto-fill a field for email.. like typing "xyz" and having the field update with your email? I find myself typing my email often into web forms, or logging in to various websites, and I think it would be so much easier.

I would prefer they include an "EMAIL" button on the keyboard to allow for this. I know there is room at the top left on the iPhone keyboard, but the iPad keyboard looks pretty full.

So I guess this is a question and maybe a suggestion for developers and the like who may have influence. :) LOL

...TROLLOLOLOL.

But I do wish...

So is iTunes 10.5 beta 8 compatible with iOS beta 7?

I am just backing up anyways before I update iTunes. I would find it weird if they included iCloud backup in beta 8 of iTunes and didn't intend for people to use it with iOS betas...unless beta 8 is incoming.

Yup, you can do exactly that. I hav "asd" set to my email. Every time I type it, it auto updates to my email address.

I know this is fake but...I mean...some really good ideas in there.
Like after reading this I'm suddenly dissappointed in iOS5

Got to love the way some developers stick to their NDAs! Of course I realize this was an official press release:rolleyes:

I'm so tired of reading this comment in every post about betas.

You are on a website called macrumors.com that deals with rumors, leaks and pre-release info. I honestly cannot even comprehend why people come here to post comments like this, it's ridiculous.

- Send to groups in Mail app
.

I would love the groups in Mail app. I don't see why this would be so hard to implement. I use this is Outlook all the time. I know I could manually set a contact as a group, but I make changes to them often which makes it more trouble than it is worth.
