Apple Seeds Rumored Golden Master Mac OS X 10.6 (10A432) to Developers

LOL, in what respect are 'free betatesters' better than the developers that have to pay for it!?

... I'd like to add one thing about the 64 bit hype: As long as you have to switch safari to 32 bit mode for 1password and speed download to work I guess a lot of people don't really want 'too much' 64 bit for now.

1 password and speed download will soon work in 64 bit...be patient, and remember, snow leopard hasn't even officially been released yet, so why would any software or hardware vendors have released compliant versions for it?????????

I've been using the trial of 1Password for a couple weeks. Guess I'm glad I didn't buy it (yet).

Just tried Call of Duty 4 on Snow Leopard. Seems to run alot better on the 9400M now. Not as good as on Windows but damn close!

Sure - just wanted to say that maybe for some people 32bit will be safer for some time. I lost quite a lot of time finding out why safari suddenly was unable to save any files ;)

Huh? Enlightenment, please?

I mean that if you use a 64 bit browser, you won't get flash support. Such as 64 bit Internet Explorer.

64 bit flash *sort of* works in Linux.

For now, it's 32 bit all the way.

I'm not sure about 64 bit java however.

OIC, thank you for the clarification, sir.

Which is incorrect in the case of Mac OS X. Safari is 64bit and the plugin is 32bit but they communicate using IPC instead; Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome etc. don't do that.

Apple has seeded Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Build 10A432 to developers tonight. The 10A432 build has been rumored to be the Golden Master build for Snow Leopard. This designation indicates that it would be the final shipping build when it is ultimatly launched.

Snow Leopard represents the next major version of Mac OS X to be released to consumers and has been officially scheduled for September, though there has been some suggestion that it could appear later this month. Snow Leopard will provide a number of "under the hood" enhancements that should improve performance and stability.

Mac OS X Snow Leopard will be priced at $29 for current OS X Leopard owners, and users purchasing a new Mac on June 8th, 2009 or later can receive the updated operating system for $9.95 though Apple's "Up to Date" program.

Assign applications to spaces.
Assign an application to any space from its icon in the Dock with a click. Quickly spread your work out in different spaces by assigning an application to a space right from the Dock. Just right-click the Dock icon and select a space for the application.

I cannot find this feature in the latest build.

It's running well so far for me on my partition. Mail using exchange set up very smoothly..didn't even have to enter server information so that was very cool. One rather glaring omission to the new mail seems to be no way to set up out of office on it. In the help it refers you to your email "To set up automatic replies while you’re on vacation, ask your email service provider how to set up an out-of-office reply."

If anyone else has seen this option, then let me know. Otherwise it seems to be running really well for me...like the new expose/ stacks view.

I haven't found any mention about this : The getting started PDF (or installation) still has the Leopard DVD icon inside. So another argument against this built being GM.

Can I ask where you saw it? The disc image I have has the new icon with the Snow Leopard on it.

what's the deal yo?

So is this the final build or is the consensus now that there will be a few more?

I don think I'll bother buying the upgrade as I'll prolly be buying a new mini within the month, yay!
Hopefully it will come bundled with Snow Leopard?

Cheers,
Jed

I'm talking about the Installation instructions PDF (at least the french one). On page 3 there's a screenshot showing Leopard 10.5 installation DVD. And I just saw that it's titled "Mac*OS*X 10.5 Leopard - Guide d’installation et de configuration".

I didn't install it though, I'm waiting for the uptodate DVD I pre-ordered.

I hope that someday you can realize how hurtful this attitude can be.

You can only judge words by the perception of the listener, the thoughts of the speaker are only relevant to the apologies needed after the words come out.

Did you do a web search for "engrish racist"? What did that tell you about how people perceive the word "engrish". Many are insulted or hurt - because it is a racially-based slur. It doesn't refer to "bad English", it refers to a stereotype of Asian peoples' difficulties with English. Native French speakers typically have trouble with a common set of words/expressions - is that "Engrish"?

Please, go to some city and say "Hi, n*****s" to a bunch of black dudes, and explain that you meant it as a joke right before you're beaten to a pulp. As you collect your broken teeth, say "the only thing that is relevant is the motivation behind the words"....

Of all of your ridiculous diatribes of condescending, self-righteous, arrogant drivel, this one reaches new lows - you have the audacity to divert criticism which was clearly directed toward your own misperceptions: “Pardon? your Engrish makes little sense to me,” by implying that it was instead intended as a racial slur, and then you further attempt to draw an incongruous comparison of that to the extreme offensiveness of the ‘n’ word?

Your “Holier than thou” rants are made all the more incredulous and egregious by your own blatant contradictions of the very morals which you so moralistically preach:

"Sudo" is an Asian martial art, right?

A new idiom has now been created for you: "The Pot Calls the Kettle 'n'"

Furthermore, do you suppose, within the vast realms of your narrow minded, double-standard hypocrisy, that this following statement might come off as offensive?

No problem for me - it's common knowledge on the Internet that most Apple customers are gay. That rainbow Apple logo out'ed everyone years ago.
Hypocrisy and finger-pointing have yet to sink to such abysmal depths.

I looked at mine (English) and it's updated with the new icon we've seen. Not saying mine is the GM or anything, but there's no reference to 10.5 in my documentation.
