It doesn't necessarily have to be true, but it's not like it isn't because you read it on the internet. Like I said, take it with a grain of salt for now. It hasn't been confirmed yet. It's just a little birdie...

No iMac 7,1 64bits kernel support?? Why is that, as it it Core 2 Duo??
Any hardware limitation?

Yes, there is a hardware limitation:

Apple is only supporting machines with EFI64 for use of both 64-bit Snow Leopard and 64-bit Windows. While older machines than those listed may contain 64-bit capable CPUs (Intel's EM64T; included with most Core 2 Duo's), like my Santa Rosa Macbook Pro, they use EFI32.

I ran across this when installing Windows 7 RC 64-bit onto my SR MBP. EFI32 doesn't play nice with the default Win7 64 install DVD. My theory is that they could make this work, but it would lead to greater headaches for them in regards to customer technical support.

Another birdie just told me Snow Leopard is supposed to ship on August 27th, to be delivered on Augustus 28th. He claims he closely knows somebody who is working with a company doing the distribution of Snow Leopard (I know, this sounds vague). This is for US only, he doesn't know how the distribution will take place for international shipments.

I can't however verify this and so I recommend you to take it with a grain of salt.

I'll only believe it when a)Apple announces a release date and b)my credit card gets charged for my up-to-date disc which was ordered on July 29.

Word is (on Twitter) that in fact 10A435 is the real GM. That would mean 10A432 was just a GM candidate.

Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger. I'm trying to verify this, but for now you should take it with a grain of salt.

Isn't it always funny when people talk about 'heard from twitter' they never actually tell who it is. The person who said something was thatoneguy159 (who relayed off something that had gone - why remove it unless he cocked up the build number when it should have been 432 instead of 435) - and if you look at his 'tweet' history, he's as thick as a four by two, hardly an oracle of knowledge to say the least.

Regarding 432 versus 435 - how does he know that 435 isn't a build for an up coming launch? a line up refresh? another build and then deciding that 432 is good enough and it would best to push out a quick x.1 within a month. No one knows but if Apple were keen to get a 10A435 as the Golden Master then it would have appeared on the developer server already (please don't point to Leopard - that was a different kettle of fish when compared to Snow Leopard).

Some credit cards got charged already. As for release date. If they really want to ship SL next Thursday/Friday we should have had a press release by now.

After using build 10A432 for a few days now. I would be surprised, maybe even disappointed if Apple declared 10A432 as GM.

I'm seeing odd issues with different System Preferences being set and then rolling back to defaults by next restart.

Such as......? All very nice to talk but its useless unless you give examples.

I set my screensaver to 'Shell' then later that afternoon I noticed that it had changed back to 'Flurry' Ditto for Energy Saver. I put the sliders all the way up to disable turning off Screen and avoid Sleep mode. Then a while later I come back to my Mac and the screen is off and the machine is in sleep mode. A lot of these sort of issues with System Preferences not saving, it seems.

Did you do a clean install or an upgrade? I haven't noticed it yet but I'll give it a testing.

Just had a look on Twitter and I've traced the 10A435 back to John Guber, however, he has deleted the tweet (although people keep quoting him). I am questioning whether it was just a typo so he quickly deleted.

That's why there was the word "and" between points A and B. Just because the CC is charged doesn't mean much without an official announcement.

It was a clean install. Great to hear about 10A435 - I'd wait until 10.6.1 if 10A432 was GM.

The other problem is that the original poster doesn't know the difference between authorisation and being charged - the two are completely different terms. Quite possible for Apple to authorise and then charge a week later. Amazon does the same thing; authorise the card then charge when ready to ship - even if the shipment date is a days or weeks away.

As far as I know, is Gold Master the physical disk used to duplicate all the retails disks and is the term Golden Master used to define the final development stage, like Release to Manufacturing. It only differs two characters, but it makes a hell of a difference.

The physical disk you're thinking about is called "the Glass Master".

Again 10a432 is not golden ?!*%

10A435... Puts a few of the issues like system prefs being glitchy and no quicktime prefs right. Also bootcamp drivers are now up to scratch and fully working with windows 7 and i hear that 64-bit has now been switched on by default.

Its real oh so real.

I doubt it - where did you get your information from? twitter?

I might as well state that the naked man called bob who visits me every Friday told me its 10A445!

no actually from a friend who works with Apple i wasn't aware people already knew about it

The only information that had come so far was from a tweet off twitter that had since been deleted - so it is pretty hard to come to the conclusion that 10A435 existed in the first place.

I hope you are right and are not yanking my chain - because right now 10A432 has some bugs that go beyond annoyances; language setting compatibility issues being the major problem.

About two hours ago some guy tweeted on Twitter the following message:

"Currently installing Snow Leopard 10A435. It will be hilarious to see what others say when it turns out to be the GM build."

Maybe there is a 10A435 after all. Given the information matt3224 gave us there is a bigger chance of the existence of 10A435 which is possibly another GM candidate or the GM itself.

It really doesn't prove anything. I could go on Twitter right now and say I am installing 10A435 and people would start saying "It's looking like it's real" or something.

Amazing how 10A432 was seeded to developers, but 10A345 was seeded to a select few on Twitter.

I believe it when I see it... or at least when more than one random person on Twitter has it.

I'm not saying it proves anything, there's a bigger chance given the information matt3224 just provided on this forum.

It may also give some credibility to the fact that John Gruber mentioned 10A435 being GM on Twitter but later removed it.

Gruber hasn't said anything regarding this, he hasn't replied to anyone regarding this either. He may know something, but is not at liberty to say, that's how press sometimes works.
