Also bug fixes as well

There are more than most version 0s that I've noticed in this one, particularly on iPad. App switching is rough (apps constantly unloading themselves on switch and that's on latest gen iPad Pro), apps crashing, among many others. I registered about a dozen bugs this go around. Hopefully a good number of them get cleaned up this round.

Can’t see any of the new emojis like vampire

Happy to report that the battery life on my 7plus is back to normal now.... it was draining from 100 to 20 overnight in earlier beta

People do know that the new emojis are all part of supporting the latest Unicode standards don’t they? Apple aren’t just making them up and adding them for the sake of it...
Exactly! I was just going to say the same thing. Never understood all the hate every time there's an emoji update.

If they are not going to fix actual problems, could they at least add an emoji for poor batter life?

I'll be using it a lot...

People honestly are more excited about dam Emojis sad times we live in
Strawman argument. I don't expect anyone here is more excited about emojis than about new Apple hardware/software. People sure do like to get outraged about emojis though. Keep in mind that some small department of the Unicode Consortium is responsible for adding new emojis to the Unicode character set. Apple is simply supporting the standard by implementing the new ones when they are added. If you're upset at the proliferation of emojis, petition the Unicode Consortium to stop adding new ones.

I'm old school, and ": -)" and a few variants were quite sufficient back on Usenet, before the Internet was really a thing, and long before smartphones. I don't really need any emoji, but I don't care much if they're in the character set. For the record, I don't have much need for the Cyrillic characters (to pick a random example) in Unicode, but I don't complain about them being there. Getting outraged about emoji every time MacRumors reports on new ones being added seems mostly a way to score popularity points.

I still find hard to believe how much time, publicity and resources Apple throws into such a puny tangent such as emojis, when this iOS release is riddled with bugs (eg. music controls on the lockscreen randomly not functioning, TouchID sometimes not working while charging etc, 3D Touch delays, battery gone to hell etc).

And if they do insist going off on tangents, at least they can try sprucing up the weakest collection of wallpapers ever bundled with an iOS. What used to be a sweet photography collection devolved into 3 aerial shots, 6 flowers, 7 flat rainbows (?!) and 3 animated ink spots. Are they THAT bored or uninspired? Whatever happened to the animated goldfish of the 6S release?
