Hope it comes out sooner than the 7.1...

8.1 is already way ahead of 7.1.

7.1 didn't enter beta until November, and then was released in March.

8.1 entered beta in September, immediately following 8.0's release.

8.1 might be final this month or next, giving it a 2-month release window from 8.0, while 7.1 took 6 months to be released.

Hoping 8.1 fixes copy/paste and Safari keyboard freezing and crashing the app.

You've noticed it too!? I'm glad it's not my device. It's happened to me over 4 times this week on my iPhone 6 and it's so frustrating because you lose everything you've typed!. Ugh.

Im so surprised you guys in the US have to SIGN for stuff when you use your cards (which I see are metal which is cool!) We have had chip and pin here (UK) for ages and now have contactless payments. I guess not signing for stuff is going to be a big deal for you guys! lol

Our cards are not metal, they are plastic

Home screen would get stuck upside down but all apps would be right.
Keyboard disappears and does not activate unless the app is closed.

That's all? My 6 Plus sometimes gets completely unresponsive in landscape mode. It sometimes doesn't recognize that pictures were taken in landscape mode, so the orientation is wrong. Every time when I go into the photo album directly from the camera app, it sends me back right to the camera app on the first try, and I have to try it again (always works on second try - go figure). Yesterday, I got the landscape keyboard in portrait mode (which obviously meant that the right half of the keyboard was missing). And that is just a very small selection.

iOS 8 is by far the buggiest release I have ever seen. And I have been an early adopter of iOS releases since what was then called "iPhone OS 1.0". It's quite obvious that release was really rushed out the door.

I hope this fixes the annoying comments about strange bugs that nobody but one person in the entire world seems to have...

Shortcuts menu is still extremmly slow and buggy. Can't delete shortcuts, not all of them are sync too... Anyone having this problem too?

Interesting that Apple Pay launches later this month, yet it's not included in the 8.1 beta releases. Perhaps the banks and/or Apple aren't quite ready to start accepting cards yet?

Sure hope this fixes the syncing with iTunes issue. As it stands now, with my iPhone 6 and iOS 8.0.2, when it's attached directly to my iMac, syncing goes on for about an hour and about 25% of my songs, as well as some of my playlists, will not transfer to the iPhone. Everything syncs perfectly with my iPad Mini running iOS 7.1.2.

8 also broke the ability to long press on an image on a website and copy the url for that image. I hope that's just a bug to be fixed and isn't a feature Apple removed.

I have noticed that copying and pasting in general is a huge mess, at least in Safari. When selecting text it's very easy to make it glitch and have it "select" back and forth between things. It also seems harder to select specific words, and scrolling+selecting usually ends up in a "stuck" scrolling state and I have to reload.

Yes very annoying. :( Happened to me more than once on this site. :)

Any performance improvements

I would be curious to hear if 8.1 adds any performance improvements on iPhone 4S and iPad 2?. 8.0.2 performs well on my 5S but is dog slow on my iPad 2.

Regards,

Apple pay is in the build, just hidden from the user.
