It seems so odd to see a version of ios buggier and less stable than Android. Apple needs to get its act together asap! Seems like some heads need to roll on the iOs team.

Will this fix bendgate?

Yes. iOS 8.1 Beta's make use of the Barometer to calculate the pressure applied during bending, then it uses the same force within the housing to bend back using the gyroscope by spinning in anti clockwise using thread which is connected to fragile parts of the aluminum case. Sadly you need to factory reset before you start the bending process.

Finally they fixed he bug where sometimes a press in Safari did not turn blue or show any kind of signal it was pressed. This bug drove me mad!

UGH don't tell me that! Im running it in an iPhone 5 and when i take the phone off the charger it says i have 5h and 25min of talk time. THANK GOD I'm rocking a juice pack.

It also could be that you just installed it so give it some time. Right now I have 65 percent battery and it says i have 1h and 44 minutes of talk time. lol.

I don't think those numbers mean what you think they mean...

Im so surprised you guys in the US have to SIGN for stuff when you use your cards (which I see are metal which is cool!) We have had chip and pin here (UK) for ages and now have contactless payments. I guess not signing for stuff is going to be a big deal for you guys! lol

Lol not all cards are metal. Only the premium ones are :p

It depends on the store.

Usually if the purchase is under $50, no signature is needed. Over $50, they need a signature.

So, if you're pumping gas, and reach $49, stop. You don't want to go inside the convenience store, wait in line, to pay. Just stop at $49, and either start up again from $0, or don't fill up completely. It's all very odd.

what do they mean?

It's not how much time you have left; it's how much time you've used. Unless you are running some sort of jailbreak, iPhones never show 'talk time remaining'... Only 'talk time used', or how long the phone has been in use, etc..

Honestly it's almost too fast these days. I generally wake up the phone when I just want to check the lock screen by pressing the home button. Touch ID has gotten so fast that even if I just tap the home button very quickly, more often than not it unlocks the phone anyway. I've had to train myself to use the power button instead.

Exactly lol I'm having the same "issue" this days :p

Instead of every one listing their favorite bug...i hope they fix all the bugs..

oh yeah you're right. But isn't that completely idiotic? Wouldn't it make more sense to show you the remaining time you have not how much you've used?? Or am i not understanding something?

What you *do* on the phone affects usage. Surf the web and read long articles? Your battery will last longer. Play a really detailed, action packed game with really awesome music blaring out the speakers? Your battery will be used a lot faster. Use turn-by-turn navigation with real time GPS updates? Much faster battery usage.

How can the phone predict what you're doing to do in the next x-hours?

Too early to say on the 4S, feels good, there is new modem firmware in this beta 2 update for the 4S, which is 5.4.00, up from 5.3.02 in beta 1

Carrier version bump on mine as well.

So I will be testing beta 2 with this in mind.

I may not have been clear. By Dog Slow, I was not referring to cellular or WiFi data rates. I was referring to the fact that I can type 3 or 4 characters on the keyboard before the first one shows up on screen. Or, I may have to swipe three or four times before the iPad recognizes that I am swiping.

I would still like to here your experiences.

Regards

that's right and the battery meter will vary dramatically based on what you do same as on my Macbook. But not really for me because i pretty much do the same things over and over therefore based on my activity, is should show me a calculated prediction of my remaining time. Exactly the same as it does on the Mac OS does. Right now I have 5h 37 minutes remaining on my Air. All this time I thought that's what those numbers were! lol And if they're not then they're completely useless and somewhat moronic lol.

Where are you seeing this time?

Has anyone had an issue with Maps never loading in the Maps app? I can search it will populate results, it will track my movement via the GPS,but the map never loads whether I zoom in or zoom out or change the map type. I have data, and Google Maps and Waze work fine.

Well, isn't it often chip and PIN in Europe, so it's PIN instead of signature? In US it's shifting to chip and sign, which is fairly similar. For lower amounts no signature is even required.

Somewhat off topic, but I don't think I've ever had to sign when using the card at the pump no matter how much it was (with usual amounts being more than $60 and occasionally even $100 with some larger vehicles and times with higher gas prices).

Settings>general>usage>battery usage.
You see something like talk time there?

I think I'll wait a couple of days before I update.. I remember the days when iOS updates were completely reliable and you didn't have to second guess it's performance quality.
I don't know, most updates for years would get nitpicked quite a bit especially from battery and performance point of view.

I assumed "usage" was 'talk time' lol. I didn't think to even imagine that these numbers could be what I've just discovered they are. I think that's utterly retarded. lol.

Yeah, they are just usage and standby numbers since the last full charge (as actually the header of that section says). The are certainly far from useless as they basically give people an idea of how much their current charge has gotten them so far, and what people often use to gauge their battery performance.

Would I be right in thinking 8.1 beta 2 will work without a registered UDID.

According to post #6 in this thread you do not need a registered UDID to install the b2 update. So I tried it and I can confirm that it does not check for a registered UDID. No problem with the b2 OTA update on my unregistered device.
