In an unrelated note, I realised today that you can't add document attachments to a reply email in iOS. WHAT'S THAT ABOUT?

Sorry, another OS X beta...as you were.

Just release a bug-free final version already!

I need that bug that makes my iMac restart when ever I power off my Thunderbolt enclosure fixed, it's been like this for months now!

Do you happen to have Symantec/norton installed? Had a similar issue, turned out it was Symantec,

turning off the "Vulnerability Protection" fixed it.

Symantec/norton installed? Remove this! Macs don't need third party protection!

yeah , it was on a work computer, what can i say , not my choice :)

But I will say, around here, mac shops are upselling norton when you buy a mac.

I don’t have such as problem. Bluetooth and WiFi are both on and working. You need to be looking at the interference environment you live in, not demanding Apple fix an issue that doesn’t exist in Yosemite. Just because Google returns a bunch of hits doesn’t mean the problem is real. If you read it on the Internet that doesn’t mean it’s true.

The problem is real and the engineers at Apple are working on a fix for that.

Honestly I wish Apple would skip 10.11 this year.

Releasing a new OS X every year is what caused Yosemite and Mavericks to be fairly buggy releases; not enough time to get the kinks out.

They should keep Yosemite around for at least another year and perfect it before going forward. They didn't used to have a yearly cycle; I remember back when a new OS X release was a rare thing and not fraught with so many problems.

they want you to believe that it's a new os being released every year, but in reality it's just a large service pack.

I did like Mavericks, but I like Yosemite better.

I went on a machine that had Mavericks installed today after using Yosemite since launched, and to be honest the interface actually looked dated next to Yosemite, which surprised me. However the last iteration of Mavericks was faster, more stable, faster and for me, was totally bug free compared to any version of Yosemite so far. They are probably going to fix Yosemite just before the next one is due out, and that's frankly unacceptable, when my company is paying in excess of three thousand pounds, plus a bunch more for software for my Mac when I need it to to just 'work'.

Like Snow Leopard did.

stupid question: can I opt out of the Beta program at this point and then the next build removes the Feedback app and such? *paranoid about the finals running slower for testers than general public, because it happened one time, and maybe that is illogical but oh well*

There absolutely are Wi-Fi issues in Yosemite. There's a reason Apple has mentioned Wi-Fi in release notes several times.

Mostly, AWDL and discoveryd appear to be to blame.

Wifi issues are widespread in Yosemite - especially in 10.10.2 - My Wifi drops every 15 minutes and reconnects which drives me crazy, and I've had multiple friends and family members say the same. Its like that variant of Lion which did a similar thing back a few years back.

Rumor has it that 10.11 will be a Snow Leopard type cleanup without any major new features.

I look forward to that, if true.

Well, I can't argue with you there. Snow Leopard is still the best OS X release to date.

Anyone else had this issue with default apps that remain open?

This happens regularly and I'm able to recreate it simply, as I just have for the included screen capture.

Default applications, including TextEdit, QuickTime Player and Preview have built-in auto-quit function when using Command-W to close/quit instead of Command-Q to close/quit. The app closes, indicator light disappears and if app hadn't been placed in the Dock the app disappears from Dock. That's how it is supposed to work anyway.

I open a file in TextEdit, for instance, then Command-W to close/quit; click another app, such as Safari and the TextEdit indicator light disappears as though the app's quit. I have TextEdit placed in Dock so the app doesn't disappear from Dock. Shortly afterward, MacBook Pro heats up and processor | HDD become noticeably sluggish.

I go to the Force Quit dialogue box/panel, and the TextEdit app is still open? This happens regularly with TextEdit, QuickTime and Preview. I have only had this problem with default Apple apps. Has this bug been fixed?

Screen capture

Apps "open" with no indicator light and/or not visible in Dock

Thats why Snow Leopard was so stable. (And Tiger I suppose)

Just tried this for you on this new release. Opened a JPEG with preview and used Command-Q. The image closed but Preview was still open, both in theMenu bar and the indicator under the Dock icon.

Not exactly the same issue he had, but the wifi behaves oddly in Yosemite for me. I noticed first thing when I updated to Yosemite that I was randomly getting very poor reception on a normally good wifi network that used to work properly in that exact spot, and disabling/re-enabling wifi fixed it temporarily. Happened about once every few days.

Yes I expect that will happen. My Mavericks installations were working perfectly for me. I swore I would not upgrade after last year's Yearly OS Fashion Show but I caved in and did it anyway.

Hopefully they will get Yosemite in workable shape before whatever "the latest" new craptastic "look" is. I want to stay on Yosemite for quite a while.

Has anyone tested the scrolling speed with the Apple Wired Mouse yet? It was totally messed up in 10.10.1 and 10.10.2

Thanks!
