Is this available in Public beta yet? The article's title says it is but when I log in to beta.apple.com (Public Beta Program) it says it's "Coming Soon".

You got me all excited!
There isn't currently a way to register with Apple for the 10.10 beta program. They've already started the transition to the 10.11 program.

FIX THE MAIL BUG! Every time I wake up my Mac, accountsd uses 75%+ CPU and i don't get any mail until I force quit Mail

I wonder if they'll go to 10.10.5 to if this will be the last update with an intense focus on Yosemite.

Well this is odd: I installed the latest beta on my Mac mini Late 2012 and the boot screen is now in dark mode (nice!)

Installed on another machine, a Mid-2010 iMac and the boot screen hasn't changed—weird!

Anyone have experience with bugs in local network account permissions? Does this beta solve any of the issues surrounding them? any thoughts on input would be very appreciated. I am hoping 10.10.4 will solve the problems in my office and I am planning on doing a clean install on all computers when it is released.

Right, but this is a point update and, if Apple does the same thing as they did with 10.7, 10.8, and 10.9, it'll finish off on 10.10.5. Personally, Yosemite was never that buggy for me. Never had WiFi problems, never had battery problems, crashing, kernel panics, nothing. Now, iOS 8 is a different story.

Funny thing with my 13", I never had any problems with it on Yosemite. Soon after updating to 10.10.3 I started having Wifi connectivity problems. So far thats the only troubles that I've had

Glad I'm not on Yosemite anymore, had no WIFI problems since installing El Cap beta.
Was a total nightmare on 10.10, I've been on OS X since the very beginning, never had WIFI issues
until 10.10, glad the pain is over, at least, I hope so.

Did you try this in that special "rootless" mode?

Yosemite doesn't have Rootless security, and that would prohibit the running of the command not enable the ability of it. I have a feeling if TrimForce makes it's way to Yosemite, its gonna be either the GM of 10.10.4 or 10.10.5.

Nothing is a massive issue in beta 1.... ....You may find the battery drain is actually a very low priority bug right now, depending on how much Apple know about the causes, and how much work would be involved to fix it.

I could care less about battery drain. But, I am pretty sure that those battery issues aren't usually a thought until maybe Beta 3. Usually.

All I've had are kernel panics since this beta update. Really lame. The Mac will run fine for about 15 minutes and then crash with the grey screen. No warning. No consistency. I've mostly just been using Pages when it happens.

Are you getting any logs with the panics? I'm running this build on several Macs without a problem.

Y'all need to be filing bug reports and sharing the logs with Apple.

They probably get told that the problem is caused by little snitch or some third party, the person who lodged the report refuses to uninstall the offending third party and thus you end up with what exists today. At some point you've gotta give up and walk away because the frustration isn't worth it.

I do believe that you can. Just register, sign in and go to "Guide" tab and you will see an option to get 10.10.4 Beta.

Can i ask...given that the beta for the next version is out. do updates to this version get replicated into the next beta of the next version or do bugs continue.

in case that doesn't make sense. lets say in this beta they fix a bug that is in a bit of the new version that hasn't been touched - does the bug fix get moved into the new version as well. i.e. how does software development work? is there a common core and who ever is building a new version always uses the latest?

It seems more haphazard to me than that.

When will iTunes be updated to include Apple Music? It's a week away...

Is there a new version of iTunes in 10.10.4 or will iTunes be updated separately?
