This is a train wreck. What's the procedure to get back to beta 1 or just uninstall beta completely and get back to release version (12.0.1)?

I don't know how beta works tbh if you can downgrade without changing the startup options to reduced security. But, beta 1 is the way to go for now . For me at least.

It is more stable than 12.0.1 for sure but isn't unstable enough with many broken features like beta 2 3.

Ive been using beta 3 for a day and so far no memory leaks. Control centre used to grow to more than 2 GB, now its staying at 40MB.

Yup, I think the Beta 3 release has messed things up good and proper! Back to beta 2 for me

How many people are actually going to use all of this SharePlay stuff? I mean, really? It sounds cool, but how many people in their busy lives are really all that bothered about it?
These are similar for features we use a lot in Zoom. Sharing screens will allow things to happen in FaceTime that zoom has

...do nothing but fix bugs, clean up code, do optimizations and refinements...Just focus on the core OS itself and what's already included...Just all hands-on deck to FIX.
Tim Cook OUT... put this guy in charge.

Based on the number of incidents reported on both M1 and Intel, it's most likely a Monterey issue.
I was getting the issue on Big Sur, brand spanking new M1 and powered USB3 hub and all spinning disks powered. HFS mounts almost instant. apfs takes an age, encrypt a hfs and it is apfs no warning, a mare with photos and will make it worse. USB drop outs constant. I jumped on the Monterey beta and things got worse. I appreciate a risk with betea and been doing beta for some years but this last experience was so bad, never again.
Just did a reset and didn't use migration assistant and seems more stable though drop outs are still happening but far fewer. Though apfs still extremely slow to show on the system and photos absolutely hobbled.

Waits to see if this is addressed any time soon on the beta's but not doing it myself anymore. Quicker to edit photos on the iPad.

Are we expecting a released today? RC/Final or beta 4?
Need to get off of beta 3, and would rather not rebuild to 12.01 at this stage as that too is garbage.

I really don't think its ready, the display issues I had combined with the gammer point issues other have had, unless fixed will cause chaos if this version is released without a fix.

I saw the gamma really messed up on M1 iMac with Safari playing Netflix HDR movies, not their other content. Also occurs when you force YouTube HDR videos to work correctly by changing Developers menu Users agent to either Chroma - Windows, or Microsoft Edge, they both worked in B2 to allow HDR to show in YouTube with .2020 color space. This gamma issue doesn’t occur on a M1 Max MBP laptop. A another interesting tidbit is the cursor remains black afterwards and can’t be reset to normal colors until you restart. (Accessories - Display reset doesn’t do it)

Likely need a couple more betas with making sure is resolved.

I did not see Disney, or Movies Anywhere content that might be HDR doing the gamma bug. Only forced YouTube, and Netflix.

As others have said, still a few big issues need fixing before it can release, and beta 3 seems to have introduced new issues and made some of the existing ones worse.

Main issues I'm having are the intermittent tap to click - only works maybe 50% of the time at best - and the fact that my new 14" MBP has yet to complete a successful TimeMachine backup to either of my NAS devices despite having gone through the motions many many times. Others are also reporting USB issues and a bug with the gamma point completely messing up the display, but I've not seen these myself.

Per AxelFoley thread
I am using a M1 MacBook Air with macOS Monterey 12.1 Beta 3 installed. The issues I am having is with the Apple TV app AND only when watching videos from the Apple TV+ subscription. The video plays intermittently and when it does then all the listed options are discolored and sometimes not visible. Difficult to describe, however you would know if you are having the issue.
Mine occurred with M1 24" iMac and forcing HDR in Safari for YouTube, and HDR Netflix content triggering that bug.
But you have a 14" M1 Pro laptop, and as mention in the above thread I didn't see the gamma issue with a 16" M1 Max laptop. So specific to M1 Mac owners it seems.

Betas should be installed on a second drive or volume. There's no need to downgrade a beta. If you're a beta tester keep pressuring the system and report bugs. That's the whole point of beta testing.

This is how it looks using Netflix within Safari (12.1 beta 3) when it happens on M1 24" iMac. If you stop moving the mouse this gamma issue stops and the the cursor is normal.

HDR animation example playing Arcane on Netflix. Notice the entire display gamma is messed up. Doesn't happen with a Magic 2 mouse used with M1 Max MBP.

Note Feedback provided to Apple.

Also note, that the same happens when a HDR video is opened in the Photos app as well. Same applies to the Apple TV app on the M1 MacBook Air. Yes, I have reported this in a feedback to Apple.

I really hate to be "that guy" – believe me when I say that I know it's annoying, because it is. But all of you people complaining about issues with specific betas – Safari tabs disappearing, major display issues, AirPods issues, crackling speakers etc. – just should not ever install any macOS betas on your main machines. Ever. Hell, you probably shouldn't even install 12.0.1!

Like, why are you guys doing this to yourselves? You all know better by now, or at least your ought to. Seriously.

LOL. It's called beta testing. People aren't complaining but just stating what the issues are and discussing what, if anything, is fixed or improved, or what is still broken or newly broken. Others try betas to fix big issues that are worse than the other bugs encountered by it being a beta.

I think you've misunderstood the thread, which if you re-read carefully is "Apple Seeds Third Beta of macOS Monterey 12.1 to Developers".

Because we are trying to support its development through a wider user base, but sometimes Apple seeds a complete lemon and with no user to user forum to discuss issues we end up on here. Rest assured that we do feedback via the feedback tool, and apple do listen. Several bugs I have reported; apple have made direct contact to better understand.

For those of us with the new M1Pro / M1Max Macbook Pros we don't get a choice but to run Monterey, and it's not like 12.0 and 12.01 are exactly issue free. I took the plunge with the 12.1 beta in the hope that at least some of the 12.0 / 12.01 issues would have been resolved...
