Hopefully people recompile for Apple silicon, it's been a minute at this point.
It definitely needs to happen.
You won't regret it, Just try it first before saying no, life won't be the same again.
I'm not giving up RuneScape during the beach event. :p

I'll just wait until Apple fixes it I guess. I just installed the beta for the first time last night anyway so it's still new to me and it's working fine.

official email is out from Apple but still not available to update on my Mac yet:

New Builds Are Available.

New builds of the following software are now available:

  • iOS & iPadOS 26 build 23A5287g
  • macOS Tahoe 26 build 25A5306g
  • watchOS 26 build 23R5307g
True I got the email too

As much as I am usually impatient to get stuff, I really dont want to nuke rosetta, not sure what apps are using it, how they made that much of a blunder with a update.

Hopefully its a issue they can solve their end, and its not a issue with beta 2 itself.

It's not really a blunder, its a developer preview and IIRC Rosetta is going away soon anyway.

The primary goal of these is for developers to see how both how their existing apps work in the new OS and to try out the new APIs.

I get that part, but the OS is still dropping for Intel Macs, also if you sunset rosetta, surely that will create a major issue with apps that are no longer updated but still work or being used by people.

I am sure when they make the apps in Xcode they choose what they are aiming for it to run on, hence why we have apps that are designed for silicone, sites will even tell you if they run on intel or silicon chips.

So I am not sure the primary goal fits, "to test out the api" as the app thats designed to silicon wouldn't use rosetta but the new api anyways.

Personally think its a oversight on their part, hence why they pulled the update for silicon Macs, but we wont truly know considering how tightlipped Apple is.

They need to be careful with how they sunset Rosetta when there are such a large library that still depend on it.
I bet many devs wouldn't be happy for it to be wiped out even on their tests benches, bet there are some apps they use that are reliant on it still, either because "it just works" or dev behind it hasn't made a silicon version, either becasue why when it runs fine as is, or lazy to move it over.

u don’t have to actually nuke rosetta.

just temporarily park it in trash, don’t delete trash

update then put them back and restart to get rosetta going again

apple haven’t really explained why this is going on with rosetta and in the absence of such information one may circumvent apple’s stupidity with the attitude apple, this is my computer not yours so i’m going to get tahoe beta 3 going the way i want it, not the way you want it

Dear MR moderators, please DELETE all of the posts saying "not yet arrived" in Nebraska, or Greenland, or South America. These posts From crazy impatient people, add nothing to the conversation and are a total waste of space!
I agree.

Except for Michigan. It hasn't arrived yet here in Michigan. But those other places...ick...delete them.
