So far so good!
And.. nevermind. The flickering graphics continue. Late 2012 Mac Mini with HDMI monitor
So far so good!
Another Nay sayer.
WIFI issues was and still is a problem.
The beta I am on (beta2) had it solved for me, so I thought, yet after 1 week the problems started again.
Strange thing is, I didn't have any WIFI problems in the pre release OS X 10.10 beta's, the the problems started and hasn't been solved since.
It IS still not fixed, and yes it's 10.10.x, not hardware.
I started using OS X from 10.0b, never had any WIFI issues, until Yosemite came along.
Anyone else noticing significant battery life improvement? I don't think it's in my head... have a MacBook Pro Retina Mid-2012.
It is most likely NOT hardware, some people have WIFI issues and they are still not completely solved, I have them since 10.10.0., never had one single WIFI issue since 10.0b more than a decade ago.
Since I think 10.10.2 I've had wifi issues on my 2014 rMBP - it almost always needs a hard reset after going to sleep whilst connected via WIFI.
My wife's 2013 Mac Mini went the same way IMMEDIATELY after I did the update for her. I did a clean re-install, which didn't fix it.
My mother's 2012 Mac Mini has shown similar signs.
Is this anything to do with Apple (allegedly) having decided for some obscure reason to rewrite a core part of their networking stack and having 'not yet got full functionality'?
It wasn't that long ago that doing an OS update in an international airport inbetween connections was something I would do without fear. Quality control & testing was excellent. Not so much in recent times...
So, fingers crossed on 10.10.4 and can anybody confirm/put me right on this story about Apple rewriting a core part of its networking stack?
There's a wifi "bug"?
----------
What's the wifi issue people are having? I have been running Yosemite on multiple Macs since the betas without issues. I use Apple and non-Apple wifi equipment. Is the "bug" specific to older hardware?
So go fix it yourself! I had the same problems. Needed a clean wipe of the net config folder and boom. Been happy for months ever since.

The bug came when I updated my nMP to 10.10.3. My mac randomly disconnects. I have to turn off and on again every minute. I am 100% is Yosemite's fault. Went back to Mavericks and wifi was working like a goddess.
So, these people below are also wrong?
It helped with you, plenty of people still have problems even after a complete reinstall.
Yes, please do spell it out. What is the path to that folder you suggest wiping?Oh dear goodness. Do I really need to spell this out? In a clean installation the folder will be corrupt. And not until you wipe it out and let it rebuild will it work. I have reinstalled on at LEAST 50 macs who had this problem while working at a computer help desk in college. Every one had this problem with Yosemite. I fixed it on ALL of those computers.

Do you mean the root Library folder: /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration (you'll need to authenticate for these); com.apple.airport.preferences.plist com.apple.AutoWake.plist com.apple.network.identification.plist com.apple.PowerManagement.plist NetworkInterfaces.plist preferences.plist
And; in the user's Library folder: ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost com.apple.airport.agent. ... .plist (... is a long unique hex string)

If it's indeed the folder which the poster down below mentioned, it does not help (this time), if people had problem with wifi I always told them to move that folder and restart, it almost always worked, until now.
I have been on OS X since the beginning, heck, I was there even before then, I know my system.
Again, you seem to think not one single person has WIFI problems on 10.10.x, guess what, you are totally wrong.
I had NO problems updating from 10.0b until 10.5, never did a clean install, I skipped both 10.6 and 10.7, updated (imported) to 10.8, then updated to 10.9, still no problem, then came along 10.10.x, it started, so, it's Yosemite and Apple's bad coding, but hey, Apple can do no wrong!

Anyone have an idea as to when we might see a public release?
Too late for it to be any help but that issue can be resolved much faster than a restore.
Most of the time Trim was enabled on a non Apple SSD, if that is the case a few minutes would have solved the boot problem.
Fix.

Some people are having issues with reconnect on wake. Some are having it end up renaming the base station every time they connect. It'll be the name and then a number and they'll have a whole list of just the base station and increasing numbers. Those are the two that come to mind.
I don't know there cause. Never happened to me, to be honest.
