Really Apple? Your launching in ONE GOD DAMNED COUNTRY and you still can't keep up with demand?
You know, Steve said in the keynote that he "thought" they were going to have enough to meet demand this time.

I guess he thought wrong. I mean, you can make a million, but all you need is a million-and-one people to want it and suddenly you don't have enough to meet demand. These phones are going to be selling at Apple Stores, AT&T stores, Best Buy, Radio Shack, Walmart, fer christ's sake!

That a lotta phones they're shipping out. And yet...

If I'd named all those stores they were being sold at, would you have thought there was probably enough to meet demand? I would have. I might have even thought that they'd have more than they could sell. Apparently not. Who knew? Not me. How do you find out how much will be enough?

My logical answer... Yes, (well no, but money ..). I you BOUGHT meaning shipped and they shipped both, you might have just gotten really lucky :D and might have no problems. ( some sim swapping ?? )

if you reserved.... then when you get there, they might be a little angry (haha) and make you pay.

I actually bought them through the apple store online so I don't have to go in to get the phones. I'm hoping I can do some sim swapping and get both for the upgrade price.

SON OF A @%#$& I have literally been trying the entire day and have never been able to get through! This just PISSES ME OFF!

I wasn't able to order one online earlier today, so I called Apple's 800 number. The rep told me that they have to use the same online ordering system to order and check eligibility. He told me as long as you get your order in by the 21st, you'd have it on the 24th.

Tonight I finally was able to order and it says ships by July 2nd. Either Apple is being conservative to try not to break promises (by more people ordering than they have supply for), or it really is going to take an extra week or two to get it.

I'm like a little kid wanting a new toy, but I think I'll survive if I have to wait an extra week or two.

:)

JUST NOT TRUE. IT WAS ATT's FAULT, THEIR PROCESSING CONFIRMATION FAILED CONTINUALLY. WHEN THEY GOT THEIR CRAP TOGETHER TONIGHT APPLE WAS FINALLY ABLE TO PROCESS ORDERS.

PERIOD END OF STORY
Again, not true. I spent hours fighting with Apple's shopping cart and check-out system well after AT&T had cleared my purchase.

I'm sure glad I stayed up a little past my bedtime and got my order in when the system went live. I received my email confirmation from AT&T Premier right away. The only thing that is strange is that my Chase Visa debit card does not show an authorization yet. It's probably nothing requiring attention, but I'd like to see it authorized nonetheless.

Really Apple? Your launching in ONE GOD DAMNED COUNTRY and you still can't keep up with demand? I'd be a little more understanding if this was the first time, but the same **** happened with the iPad. . .and the 3GS, and the 3G (if I remember correctly). Love the company, and the products, but as a shareholder I'm getting sick of their incompetence.

As a shareholder you are mad that your company in selling out of an insanely hot product in a matter of a days? Are you mad that Apple has sold 2 million iPads and people are still trying to get one? Do you also realize that the iPhone 4 is launching in multiple countries, not just one?

Popular products are always hard to come by at launch, especially with Apple products. You must determine your shareholder's wealth much differently than me.

****

**** att and there ****ing server bull ****. i tried all day to get a pre order in to.

Better get ****ing camping gear ready.

It's not over...

And just think, we get to go through all of this all over again when hundreds of thousands of people try to activate their iPhone 4's via iTunes at the same time on 6/24...

Early Upgrade...

So, I originally signed up with AT&T in November 2009 and got the 3GS. Somehow, inexplicably, when I went to check on my upgrade status after WWDC it showed that I was eligible for an upgrade ALREADY! Sure enough, it worked and I ordered the iPhone 4 just in time to get it June 24. Did anyone else have this similar stroke of luck? I seem to be the only one of anybody I know who got so lucky (or so I think)...

5 AM Till 7 PM

My order is finally complete! After 14 hours of AT&T's servers bombing out, I finally got to add my 32GB to my cart. Checkout was a different story! My apple store login was bombing out. I had to check out as a guest to complete my order. My order status and confirmation email state I will receive my phone on the 24th!

I was just in time! Five minutes later the shipping date was updated to July 2nd.

My last two orders from the Apple store did not go well. One order took six days longer than Apple said it would. I hope this one goes a little better.

I have a question, I got my confirmation email and it says Shipping on the 24th but under it in blue it says july 2-4 on standard shipping. I am confused, am I getting it on the 24th or in july?

I'm still not sure it is AT&T's fault. I got past the AT&T step on numerous occasions only to crash on Apple's turf. I'll be interested to see what the real explanation for the problem is, if they ever tell us.

Crap. There go my plans for the 24th. I don't know why I didn't think this would happen. :(

Supposedly they base it on how much your monthly plan costs. If you have an uber-pricey plan, that would explain it.

That's the crazy thing...

I actually have the minimum iPhone plan. I seriously think they messed something up but I'm not telling them, of course.

Man looks like alotta people are havin a hard time. I was able to reserve mine about an hour after pre-ordering went live. And funny thing is i'm pretty sure i'm going to end up canceling this pre-order (I can't afford the $500 dollar ATT deposit since i don't have any credit...)

Kind of funny that you should bring this up. I am on a family plan with my mom and my dad. I completely forgot that the pre order date was today and I woke up at 12pm and checked our upgrade status. I saw that my mom was eligible and my father and I were not. My girlfriend is also eligible and she just signed up with att last year along with us. I pre ordered the new iPhone through the apple website without any problems around 4:30pm EST using my moms upgrade.
Can't wait for the 24th to get the new phone!!

That's some seriously good luck then. You ought to be able to sell your old 3GS for as much as the new phone will cost.

WHAT YOU SOME KIND OF ATT GROUPIE?

So.. it's ATT's fault that APPLE'S webserver crashed and burned It's the responsibility of ATT to make sure that Apple keeps their sits up and running. As a 15 year Unix Sysadmin who deals with servers like these on a daily basis, I don't know whether to laugh at how asinine your post is, how asinine your logic in it is, treat your post (and subsequently, you) as a fanboy who believes Apple could do no wrong, or just shake my head, facepalm, and move along.

All of the above sounds better, but I digress. I'd love to see how you'd handle this situation, outside of the fact that for a period of 2 hours this morning, these servers were working fine (I was awake and on them as the orders began; I can easily tell by your posts, that you weren't).

Now That Black Orders Are Into Mid-July Deliveries Why Not Start Taking Whit Orders?

Does anyone know when the white iPhone will be available? Why hasn't apple given any information about this? Awfully deceptive of them to advertise it, and then not have it the last minute.
