Shoot I wish this was a no brainer!! I got on and ready to go 15 mins ahead of preorder time. By the time I could actually click the preorder button everything went to hell on the Verizon website. I finally got all the way to the confirmation page and this is what I got. By the time i got back around orders had slipped to 4 weeks, so I gave up and went to bed. I called the next day and they had no record of me even attempting the transaction. And I would like to feel as though I was front and center.

However, I should add that each year you have to finess it.

This year what everyone was doing was NOT logging in.

Going on VZW.com, searching for the iPhone X and then selecting color and GB size of choice,

Then click on “ pre order “ and at that screen it’ll prompt you to either enter as a guest or enter your phone #

What a few of the others and my self discovered and posted on here multiple times ( go to Verizon thread and Check our pages 55 ish to about 80 ) is that you just elminitated the first step. The phone is Preety much teeter toting in your cart.

After that, you just keep clicking the back button once it tells you that pre orders aren’t live yet. We all kept doing that until they opened. And it was instant. Phone already in cart, info all there. Just breeze on through.

Every year it’s somethjg different. Because they always update the site. So we just have to keep finding ways to eliminate as many steps as possible.

Next year what I recommend is keeping a close eye on these forums. We all helped each other out and even posted direct links to the page.
 
Hmm, I was bumped up but not enough, not to my "expected by" date as the support person said in my chat session. I am at Nov 17 now. Hopefully this is just what would have happened without the chat and I finally get a bump up to the 3rd. They said 24-48 hours.

Looks like I still will be waiting in line at the Apple Store Friday morn :(
 
So, I got the email on Saturday and the phone call on Monday. The woman basically just took notes on what happened and said ‘sorry’ and told me they would send me my phone as soon as possible. My December 11th date didn’t change.
 
I had this exact issue and got that email this evening. When I first place the order, it said there was a delay with Citizens One but that I should NOT try to reorder as that would cause even more delay. Several hours later I got the email the the Citizens One application failed and that I now SHOULD reorder. I first tried to contact the help chat to see what was wrong, but got a message that the help line was unavailable due to overload. So I just reentered the exact same order with the exact same information and it worked just fine the second time and got the Citizens One approval in less than an hour. The only difference was the originally quoted 2-3 weeks delivery slipped to 5-6 weeks.

Of course there was the other issue of not being able to even get into the online store until about 15 minutes past the hour despite constant refreshing of Safari on my Mac and the Apple Store App on my phone.

It does seem like maybe it would be better to have a process for getting the credit application pre-approved some time in advance of the order opening date.

Update: I checked my order status and the estimate delivery date now shows 11/17-11/24. I guess that means my order was moved from the ships in 5-6 weeks group to the ships in 2-3 weeks group that I originally tried to order it under. I never even complained - just responded when they asked me to. Nice job by Apple.
 
Even though some of our dates were pushed up, we are still most likely getting it earlier than that
I hope that is true as I had an original pick up for 11/3 and right as I hit submit the App store app crashed leaving me to start over with a 2-3 week wait. I'm hopeful that is comes earlier as I will be out of town during the scheduled delivery window of 11/17 - 11/24.

So I received the same email. My original order was supposed to be a store pickup in the store on November 3rd. When I received the order confirmation email it was shipping Nov 17-24.
After replying to the call for action email my order was upgraded to shipping Nov 16-24. That’s insulting.

I recommend you again and politely ask them to verify against your original order.

Agreed, that was pretty bad. For in store pickup, I don't think they'll do something for you due to the sheer volume of orders. As for moving your shipment date up, it would not hurt to send them another email.

Well, it seems Apple Chat doesn't get you to a rep (at least not at 7am). It did before. Looks like I'm in line Friday morning EARLY at the Freehold Raceway Mall in NJ. A bit convoluted as an Apple employee told me the mall security doesn't let people camp out anymore, so no real "line" . Don't know how that's going to work, everyone waiting in cars then scrambling when they DO let you line up.

Honestly if Apple did not have the volume why sell at this date? Just a little ticked, that's all.
 
I never got the follow up email from Apple, but because of this forum I found out about it and I'm grateful that people let us know that Apple was helping to resolve the matter. I sent out my order details to Apple and they changed my delivery date too. I was slated to receive the X in 5-6 weeks and now I'm in the 2-3 week Nov. 17th - 24th group. I wish it was November 3rd as I originally was promised, but I'm happy they bumped it up. Thanks everyone for posting your comments, it really helped me.
 
I just canceled my order this morning and ordered again with instore pickup for today. I know have my new phone in hand. Life is good.
