"Let us loop you in".
Welcome to the new iPhone SE, the most amazing endless boot-looping device you've ever seen. You don't even need to set the date to February 1, 1970. Just push the power button.
What a perfection. What an amazing experience.

Considering the size of Apple these days one would think that they would release more and better. If they have an event where they 'launch' new wrist-bands for apple watch would be an insult.

1. iPhone 5SE or whatever it will be called. If they miss the opportunity to make a hardware re-design when they have the best hardware design on the planet? Also - Apple ruled with their often updated iPod-design and well differentiated. Get with the program apple!

2. iPad Air 3? iPads are not that interesting anymore. An iPad Air 3 will not bolster that market.

3. Wrist bands!? Who cares? I have an Apple watch and I could not care less. Update it to Watch 2.

4. Why on earth have they not updated their laptop line with skylake yet!? Honestly...

Hope I will not be underwhelmed but betting I will.

The invite copy makes it seem like the Watch will have much more importance than MR wants us to believe. I think we're going to get much more than some new bands. I'll go out on a limb and say that Apple will show off the 2nd-gen Watch. Since it will probably have a cellular radio, they want to announce it before FCC filing.

So are there usually leaks of new MacBooks before refreshes? As there haven't been leaks (that I know of) is it very unlikely that there will be macbook refreshes (based on previous trends)?

Last year when they introduced "The New MacBook" they updated the processors in the MacBook Airs to Broadwell at the same time. Yet there were no leaks ahead of time.

Will it be streamed? On keynote days, our whole office orders food in and watches together.

It sounds like you work in a very cool office. I'm very envious of you.

From this event I would like a Rose gold iPad Air 3 (or whatever they are calling it) with pencil support and the smart connector to use with accessories like an Apple Smart Keyboard! Please and thank you! :D

Maybe there won't be an Apple Watch "2", as such. Perhaps they'll just quietly upgrade the internals a little, put out some new bands and colours, and still call it the "Apple Watch". That way the Watch can continually evolve and they don't have to deal with negative press and people getting pissed off that their watch is outdated (even though it will be) because of a new model every year. They won't even have to hold events to upgrade the Watch.

This makes the most sense out of anything to me.

Is it March 21st yet??

That was my first thought too, I love the keynotes even if I'm not in the market for anything that gets walked out there in a particular iteration.

The image in the announcement reminds me of the blue wallpaper from OS X Panther / Tiger.

Yes! And why can't I upvote that about forty times...

I really, really hope the one more thing will be revamped iTunes.

 They say be careful what you wish for. I guess hoping is safe enough :D

Is there anything to suggest they're releasing a Watch soon with a cellular radio? I just don't see the purpose of a 3G watch at this point. No one is replacing their phone with a Watch yet.

As someone who owns a Watch, I think being able to do iMessages and other small internet tasks when you don't want to bring your phone with you would be a great feature. It would also open up the Watch to a wider market than just iPhone owners.

I agree. I think technology has hit a slump honestly. What else can you really pack into a device like the iPhone that will WOW you like it did years before? Dual cameras? Meh. Thinner design? Meh. No audio jack? Meh. Right now, it's all about software. Making it better, more advanced to take advantage of all the hardware. I would love to see Home Kit blow up and become something great.

It's all really mediocre right now. Especially when the parts start leaking and you already know what the phone is going to look like months in advance. Takes the WOW out of it.

I am looking forward to what they decide on displays. OLED has been in the air for a while and I am curious to see how well Apple implements it. I wouldn't mind seeing wireless charging either.

Exactly and that's the problem. Everybody claims they want innovation and revolution but they don't know what that is.

Apple can finally have a 1 week battery and people will still say that is not enough. They can implement wireless charging and people will say that's old because the competition has done it since 3 years ago. Same with OLED screens.

To me the charging of the Apple Watch looks like innovation: no ports, magnetic, no hassle, the watch doesn't look like a gadget that needs something plugged in, everything in a small device and they still say is nothing out of the ordinary.

And let's not talk about the different implementations of the haptic engine. Making something unmovable feel like it has a button and is moving and incorporate that in a thin profile is something nobody has done before and people don't pay attention.

The biggest improvements to the Watch that Apple could make are a FaceTime camera and the ability to work independently of an iPhone because it's technically an overpriced accessory as of right now. You can't really consider the Watch to be its own product category as long as it's dependent on the iPhone to function.

Here's my try at predictions. Isn't this always fun? Let me know what you think.

iPad Predictions:
  • iPad Pro 9.7": 32GB for $649 and 128GB for $749
  • iPad Air 2: 16GB for $399 and 64GB for $499
  • Rose gold option for iPads

Apple Watch Predictions:
  • Black Milanese Loop
  • New colors for sport bands
  • One "new" type of band, perhaps nylon or similar fabric type material in a few colors (or patterns?)
  • A new design partnership, like the Hermes edition with an exclusive face
  • Perhaps a new material for watch casing, but I would say unlikely?

iPhone Predictions:
  • iPhone (SE? Still not sold on that name) 4": 16GB for $599 and 64GB for $699
  • Pretty much the same specs except for no 3D Touch (might be clocked a little lower)
  • Similar to iPhone 5s design—BUT there will be something to distinguish it

Mac Predictions:
  • Updated Macbook. Replaces MacBook Air. Has second USB-C port. Beefier performance.
  • New MacBook Pro 13". Almost as thin and light as the old MacBook Air, but with Pro styling and more ports. Outside chance that they might make it 12"? Skylake chips. Upgraded FaceTime camera.
  • New MacBook Pro 15". Thinner. Skylake chips. Upgraded FaceTime camera.

They might wait to show off new Macs at WWDC. The Mac Mini is a bit out of date (but not as old as the last cycle) and the Mac Pro really needs an update. The last Mac Pro update was demoed at WWDC so that might work. Depends how much they have to cover. I think if the new MacBook Pros have some crazy new feature or design, they may wait until WWDC. Otherwise simple updates could happen at this upcoming spring event.

I'm really looking forward to this event. My wife has been wanting to upgrade her iPhone 5 for a while and was holding out for a new 4" model. So I'm glad it's finally coming. As for myself, I'm interested in two things: new Apple Watch bands and the iPad Pro 9.7". For me, the 12.9" iPad Pro is impractical for my use—though I did like it a lot more than I thought I would when I tried it in person. 9.7" is a much better size, but I'm not sure if I'll upgrade this year. The iPad Air 2 is still a beast of a tablet. I mainly want Apple Pencil support as things like the Adobe Ink stylus don't work well with the Air 2 (wiggly lines and disconnects). So I need to figure out if that's worth the upgrade.

But skylake Xeons are not available yet

I agree. Personally, i think it'll be more than simple watch bands. I'm willing to bet they'll release a more sophisticated fitness band that has better monitoring capabilities.

sounds quite boring.

Not to me!!!
Longest any of us have ever waited to see an iPad update, since inception.
& it looks well worth the wait. =)
Largest leap ever- new screen tech supporting thinner unit w/ brighter & crisper color & (of course) support for Apple Pencil!! Four speakers (twice as loud, if you believe the iPad Pro reviews) is VERY welcome on a machine that people play a lot of Netflix & YouTube on... camera flash I don't care about, but the possibility of a jump to 4gb RAM is the really big one!

What if "let us loop you in" finally means that iOS 10 will integrate third-party applications as native handlers for email, text, phone calls, browsing, calendar, contacts, notes, reminders, voice integration, etc.?

I like Siri, but she's admittedly frustrating at times, and Google Now seems to understand context a lot more often. And others may like Cortana.

It could just be better integration with everything else, and maybe that will include third-party apps that have gotten too robust for iOS not to ignore any longer.

You and I and everyone else on this site would most likely be down for this, or at least understand it.

However, Apple is all about usability and an easy learning curve. They must appease everyone from tech-savvy 12 year olds to 80 year old grandmas. I doubt anyone else in my family even knows what cortana and Google now is. Of course, they could just set Siri (and apple's own native apps) as default for the non-techies, and let us enjoy it :D
