Here's my try at predictions. Isn't this always fun? Let me know what you think.

iPad Predictions:
  • iPad Pro 9.7": 32GB for $649 and 128GB for $749
  • iPad Air 2: 16GB for $399 and 64GB for $499
  • Rose gold option for iPads

Apple Watch Predictions:
  • Black Milanese Loop
  • New colors for sport bands
  • One "new" type of band, perhaps nylon or similar fabric type material in a few colors (or patterns?)
  • A new design partnership, like the Hermes edition with an exclusive face
  • Perhaps a new material for watch casing, but I would say unlikely?

iPhone Predictions:
  • iPhone (SE? Still not sold on that name) 4": 16GB for $599 and 64GB for $699
  • Pretty much the same specs except for no 3D Touch (might be clocked a little lower)
  • Similar to iPhone 5s design—BUT there will be something to distinguish it

Mac Predictions:
  • Updated Macbook. Replaces MacBook Air. Has second USB-C port. Beefier performance.
  • New MacBook Pro 13". Almost as thin and light as the old MacBook Air, but with Pro styling and more ports. Outside chance that they might make it 12"? Skylake chips. Upgraded FaceTime camera.
  • New MacBook Pro 15". Thinner. Skylake chips. Upgraded FaceTime camera.

They might wait to show off new Macs at WWDC. The Mac Mini is a bit out of date (but not as old as the last cycle) and the Mac Pro really needs an update. The last Mac Pro update was demoed at WWDC so that might work. Depends how much they have to cover. I think if the new MacBook Pros have some crazy new feature or design, they may wait until WWDC. Otherwise simple updates could happen at this upcoming spring event.

I'm really looking forward to this event. My wife has been wanting to upgrade her iPhone 5 for a while and was holding out for a new 4" model. So I'm glad it's finally coming. As for myself, I'm interested in two things: new Apple Watch bands and the iPad Pro 9.7". For me, the 12.9" iPad Pro is impractical for my use—though I did like it a lot more than I thought I would when I tried it in person. 9.7" is a much better size, but I'm not sure if I'll upgrade this year. The iPad Air 2 is still a beast of a tablet. I mainly want Apple Pencil support as things like the Adobe Ink stylus don't work well with the Air 2 (wiggly lines and disconnects). So I need to figure out if that's worth the upgrade.

Pretty much identical to my prediction, except for the Apple Watch I'm not predicting a small chance for a new casing material, but rather a price drop or new faces. Also, iOS 9.3. Almost forgot about that!

I don't believe we'll see new colours of Sport band. There's already quite a few of them and any more would surely confuse things further, there's too many to choose from! But choice is never a bad thing, just worried about them having to produce lots of stock.

A new style/material of band would be nice and I like your suggestion of nylon. I 'hacked' a nylon Daniel Wellington 'Nato' band and it looks kinda neat although was a pain to do, something like that but official would be nice.

I wouldn't like to see too many more collaborations with 'high end' brands and designers, cause they end up producing products which are outrageously expensive due to the names attached to them. I think maybe there shouldn't be too much of that.

Talking about what's been happening at 1 Infinite Loop?
Yes. If you notice the curve to the left, it is in the shape of Infinite Loop - current Apple HQ. And if you look at the other curve which is a circle, that is the shape of the new mothership scheduled to finish this year.

Depends what you believe. Some would say we're not even close to an Apple Watch 2 because Apple recognise there isn't a yearly upgrade demand for this category of products. I'd easily be happy living with my first gen Apple Watch for at least another full year. I think the content and the straps are what keep it fresh right now. I'd rather they didn't bring out an Apple Watch 2 until they had something brand new to bring to the market.

Indeed.

I would say that there isn't even century upgrade demand for the Apple Watch. It's a one-hit wonder that has already reached its total audience. By that token, Apple can rest on their hind legs for a long time.

As to the iPhone, if the 4" only comes with 64GB, I shall be very annoyed.

New watch straps. Is that really what Apple is nowadays? A fashion company?

I hanker for the good old days when Apple launched proper hardware which blew away the competition.

Innovation my arse.....
This is what happens when you have to cater to Wall Street. Though when you think about it Apple products have alwyas made somewhat of a fashion statement going back to iPods and earbuds.

Except that the "iSock" has already been made by Apple :p

Damn! And here's me thinking socks were a new thing :)

My predictions:
– new Watch bands in collaboration with Victoria Beckham, Kylie At Home and Karl Lagerfeld
– sneak peek at OS X 10.12: "less new features, mostly focused on performance, under the hood upgrades and security, also we redesigned the Disk Utility icon so it is flat now"
– sneak peek at iOS 10: "less new features, mostly focused on performance, under the hood upgrades and security, also introducing a revolutionary new option where you can put icons on iPad Pro in six columns"
– one more thing: Apple Music 2 presented by Jim Dalrymple of The Loop: "finally, an Apple Music I can stand behind together with all my Megadeth live bootlegs!"

Impressive if:
they get a certificate of occupancy for the new Theatre by the 21st, and "looping in" means (and not the sole meaning) that all attendees park at Infinite Loop and are then shuttled over to the Theatre.

What I want from this event:
  • New, significantly updated 15" rMBPs with Skylake CPU, a powerful dedicated GPU, Thunderbolt 3, 4k display and without redesign at the expense of features and performance.
  • New updated Mac Pros with current Xeon CPUs, powerful current GPUs, and Thunderbolt 3
What I will probably get from this event:
  • An updated 4" iPhone with underwhelming specs, missing features, an outdated design, and a too high price.
  • A rebranded standard size iPad with minimal improvements.

599 and 699 for a 4" iphone? Nuts.

Don't forget immediate availability. I want to walk down to the apple store at 12:01 and have it in my hands.

Rotten Apple = Rapple
Lowendmac.com used to call them Road Apples, because they fell off the cart on the road to greatness and are compromised in some way. I feel like the base model MBA and rMBP are like this because their 128GB storage is ridiculously low for a computer in 2016, streaming and the cloud be damned.

This one sounds like a yawner. Take the products Apple has out today and put them in a 4" and 10" form factor with some lesser specs/features. That's it. Don't think they need a conference. And great, we get to see new colors and materials for watch bands. That will take up 10 seconds of time even if I was super interested in the Watch.

Only thing that can save this event is an "oh and one more thing."

No... Why should those who want a 4in phone be punished with an inferior device? Besides, I remember at one point Apple would brag about the fact that each one of their products contains their premium features. Just goes to show you how far they have drifted away from what made them great.

I don't consider the 6 and 6+ design to be "premium". It's awkward to hold and doesn't look as nice as the 5S design. I really hope the design is much closer to the 5S. It could even be literally the same external chassis as the 5S with updated internals and I will be extremely happy, especially if the power button is on the top.

"Loop you in" makes me worried Apple is only going to increase the emphasis on the Watch again; let's hope they have something really special in store, because the current Watch is a pretty pointless companion device I don't care about.
