So Much To Cover? Slightly larger screen? I'm not advocating... that horse has been thoroughly beaten in other threads... but its an interesting choice of words.

If the reports are true, we could see a change in the full-sized iPad form factor to match that of the iPad mini. This new form factor is smaller but with the same sized screen, which 'covers' more of the device in comparison.
Just a thought.

All I know is if ipad mini 2 doesn't have retina, hell will be raised on October 22.

I think that iPad and iPad Mini (if it gets A7) will have TouchID. Why? Because if they dedicated a space on a chip to house touchid logic why not use it. If they planed not to use it in other products they would make a separate chip for that.

If there is no retina mini then I hope Apple waits to update it until it goes retina. No lame spec bump that isn't worth talking about.

- Event invite sent out
- hype machine in full bore
- nothing amazing announced
- 15 thousand vent their frustration at the 'crappy' updates and claim they would never buy that!
- Apple supply dries up within hours of release, sells out.

Rinse and repeat.

I do bet an iWatch will be a separate event and their next big thing, even though it will probably come with half the features of the competition and sell for double the price.

Well Surface 2, you had your 5 minutes of fame. iPad is here come 10/22.....OH WAIT, Surface 2, you never had any fame. My bad. ;)

And you're asking this on a Mac forum that caters to Apple products because???

Oh, should we delete the forum that caters to non-iOS devices too?

Cook: "The iPhone 5c has been so well received, that we've decided to add two new colours, Space Grey and Piano Black"

An often used marketing tactic to convince people on the fence, that the iPhone 5c has not been a failure.

- New iPod Touch (based on iPhone 5S camera and iPhone 5C hardware and colors)

Yeah, I kind of thought we'd hear something about this at the last event, or even just a unannounced update. I guess with iPod updates kind of being relegated to non-events, they just slip them in wherever, and this event seems like as good a time and place as any.

At any rate, I'd love to see the IPT advance a little more - basically what you outlined, A6, improved camera, same form factor, though if they could shave a little price and go with a poly-c rear case, that would be cool too.

I'm all in with a new retina mini :), I wonder if I can bring myself to sell the old one?

I sold our ipad 1s and 2s when we upgraded to newer ones / minis but by now I have so many uses for them that I'd probably keep the old ones, even if it's for one or two dedicated tasks like a permanent kitchen ipad, a stereo remote ipad etc., funny how further integrated hey have become over the years of usage...

Tim Cook -

Opening: Welcome.... thank you... amazing... extraordinary... unbelievable... incredible...Let's take a look at our stats.... iPhone sales, comparing with previous years, video showing people buying iPhone 5c...Apple Store... Download numbers, iOS 7, installed on more than 70% of devices, comparing with Android etc. etc.
The Mac: Sales, Satisfaction award, quotes, how are they the best, blah blah blah.. pass to Phil Schiller

Phil Schiller:

Introducing new MacBook Pro with Retina Display
Mac Pro
Mention the update to the Mac mini
iPad mini - stats, video about how things changed by the iPad mini, how satisfied customers are, etc etc etc, retina display (?)
The big iPad - thinner, lighter, less bezel etc. etc.

Craig Federighi:

OS X Mavericks - re demo everything
Mac / iOS iLife / iWork update?

Tim Cook:

Thank you, Apple's principle, how incredible everything is, have a nice day, bye.

:D

I think this will be very close to it. Yet somehow it will get stretched out to 2 hours ;)

Oh, I forgot, I'm not allowed to express a relevant opinion, being that forums by their nature or socialistic.

What you posted was not relevant to the discussion. Please stop defending something that has no defense? This thread is about Apple sending out invites for their new product line up. Posting and asking Google to release Android Kit kat and that other BS is not relevant. There's just no talking to you, you're not worth my time anymore. Good day.

I hit a nerve with this one gentlemen. :p Are you taking your ball and going home?

I think we will see a completely new and revolutionary product next week.

Why you ask?

Analyzing the invitation, when they say "We still have a lot to cover" I think they mean to cover with an Apple logo (and everything it means). And I think the leaves kind of flying are like seeds for growing something new Apple related.

I know I must have over analyze it, but I think it's a plausible thing to expect.

So what is it going to be, a new TV or a smart watch... or maybe something entirely new that no one expects.

The idea of "cover" I believe is related to the fact that Apple will introduce improvements based on iPhone 5s.

CtechCN was right on iPhone 5s at least

Cook: "The iPhone 5c has been so well received, that we've decided to add two new colours, Space Grey and Piano Black".

Or...

Cook: "The iPhone 5c has been so well received, that we've decided to add a 64gig version."

...which I would have already bought. But forget it with only 32gig! If it's truly a sales failure it's because Apple thinks Too Small, as usual, by limiting HD size to 32 in the 5c.

Otherwise, love the colors & plastic back like the 3Gs vs blah bleh blech boring metal).

Still have a lot to "clover" ;)

No, hadn't your heard? The "Clover Event" takes place in March. :D

Hidden message: The leaves mean that the new iPads are going to be more environmentally friendly

The most "environmentally [& human-health] friendly" thing they could do to become really "green" would be to add RJ45 dongles/options to iphones, ipods, ipads so people could use their home WIRED (safer) ethernet & cut DOWN on cellular & wifi RADIATION that is engulfing every wireless user, self included:
http://www.geoengineeringwatch.org/barrie-trower-wifi-report-humanity-at-the-brink/

Could Apple really be clueless about such things at this late date?

Great coverage there, Spid. Glad to see iPod Touch finally mentioned, if only at 60% guesstimate. It's been a year since the last model, so I've been wondering if anything new is in store for iPT's this Fall.

Apple always seems to come up with the best logos :)

No mention of weather a stream is in order....

Apple kinda funny, they stream the big event, but not the smaller ones...

It can't be due to bandwidth issues, since they would me more people streaming the larger events than the smaller ones.

Maybe Apple does this on purpose ? To keep us on in suspense....

...until one day...... it'll happen......

ya, that must be it.......
