whats the idea of buy an expensive apple monitor if some others brands do a better job for less price, I mean for PRO work like photography/video edition color etc... I dont understand why apple dont focus in that? or Im wrong the apple cinema display is a monitor for PRO work?

Less price? That 24" monitor starts at $1,399. Apple's 27" monitor is $999.

I haven't been this excited for an Apple event in a while. My iPad 2 is not very happy running iOS 7. My biggest problem will be deciding between an iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2. I feel that there might be two tiers of Mini: one retina, one not retina. I think Apple might price them like this: $399 for retina with an A7 and 1GB of ram, $299 for a non-retina with an A6 and 1GB of ram. Although I hope the higher-end Mini will get 2GB of ram—I do recognize they have to save on costs somewhere. Though I'd be willing to pay $499 for a Mini that closely matches specs with an iPad 5. If they underpower the Mini 2, then I may opt for the iPad 5 for purposes of longevity.

Following the rumors and past upgrade cycles, it seems rather likely that the iPad 5 will get 2GB of ram. If the iPad Mini 2 only has 1GB of ram, then I will get the iPad 5. I'd like to be able to use it for a few years without having the OS slow to a crawl when I try to do basic things like type or switch applications. To me, I think having more ram is better than having the fastest processor in a mobile device. The A6 in my iPhone 5 is plenty fast for now, and probably will be for at least a couple more years. Give me more ram so that it can keep up with the next few iOS upgrades. Not that I wouldn't mind an A7—just saying if they want to keep the price down then that would be great.

Another reason I think the Mini will be split into two product lines: the Touch ID sensor. I think it's likely that Apple will want this sensor in both models of iPads. But you need an A7 chip with the secure enclave to house the encrypted fingerprint data. Such a machine will be more expensive to produce, hence a $399 price. But what about the low-end of the market? Do like they did with the iPhone 5C (without TouchID) and have an iPad C or something like that. I doubt it will be plastic as we haven't seen any good leaks for that (that I'm aware of), but the old casing would work ok with a non-retina screen and older processor/ram combo. Charge $299 and blow up the low end with a solid tablet for a good price.

Anyway, if there is only 1GB of ram in the iPad 5 then I might have to keep waiting. I'm thinking ahead about iOS 9. My iPad 2 came with 4.3 (a few months before 5.0 came out) and barely runs 7. Hope we get word about this next week before preorders.

Can't wait for MacBook Pros!

If they're holding the event in San Fran could mean they've got something exciting and unexpected to announce like an all new MBP. :D

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this involves something to do with the new covers that they reported about the other day. Probably new colors, new design and maybe even a keyboard in them.

:D

I wondered about this too, and considering the colorful invite imagery, *if* Apple wanted to introduce a non-retina, but revised Mini at a new price point, i.e., $299 (and drop the existing model), I wouldn't be surprised if the new cMini didn't use a poly-c shell in several colors.

I'm not sure if Apple wants to continue to position the Mini as a slightly less powerful model. If not, yeah, iPad and rMini both with A7X - if so, then iPad A7X, and rMini A6 (and per the 5C, the "new" cMini is A5 powered, new plastic case, $299).

If the iPad and rMini hit a spec parity, then I'm thinking the rMini is actually going to push +over+ $400, something in the $429-$449 range, because then, it's not about specs, it's just about a size.

They should live stream this as this isn't at Apple HQ. I believe they live streamed it last year at the same location. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

OS X Mavericks - price and release date, new Mac Pro, 4K Thunderbolt Display, Haswell Mac mini, Haswell MBPs, iPad 5, ipad mini 2 with Retina. Something else ?

iPad. Period.

Apple typically doesn't overload these events with too much. They want everyone walking away with ONE thing to talk about. It will be iPad.

My guess is that Mavericks and the Mac Pro will likely be released quietly in some non-event release.

Definitely not the Mac Pro. They put to much media out for a non-event release. iPad + Mac Pro

They already did the big Mavericks and Mac Pro thing back at WWDC so the majority of that info has already been out there.

This will be a multi focus deal. First on the iPads, then onto Mavericks and The MacPro and MacBookPro.

They wont spend more then 1/2 hour on each item for a total of 2 hours (iPad, iPad Mini, Mavericks, MacPro & MacBookPro)

I think we will see a lot.. This is apple's last shot for the holiday season. Don't forget that Chanukah starts early!

New covers with "modern" colors, because current colors are soo old.

Looking forward for the new iPads, new MBP and maybe just maybe some news about: native iWork, Windows software(Safari and quicktime) and release date for MacPro and Mavericks.

Not sure I understand what you're saying. Your agreeing and predicting there will be no Mac pro at this event or you're predicting there will be?

I doubt that. This is Christmas season. They primed the pump with iPhone, now iPad. Those other items would only cloud the message.
