ANOTHER player not to eat!

Wow, the only thing more amazing than the iPod nano is the fact that the event has more Negative votes here than Positive!

People must REALLY want to watch video while out and about ;) All other rumors came true except--best news all day--no buying of music directly to phone :)

I really thought the flash Mini / Nano rumors were getting too good to be true, but Apple has delivered something even BETTER than the rumors suggested. And still dock-connector compatible, no less.

When they hit 8 GB next year, I'm in.

I thought the mini was already the perfect size... of course the fatter I get the less room I have in my pockets.

Just too bad about the capacities. Just doesn't make much sense to upgrade when my 4GB mini is already maxed and now I'd want to put photos on something like this. They should've at least had a 6GB model for $249 and bumped the 4GB to $229. I suppose the cost of flash might prohibit that.

I wonder if we'll see an update to the minis at MacExpo??

Did anyone notice that the iPod mini seems to be missing? That would suck if it was replaced by the Nano since that'll mean no 8-10GB small formfactor iPods!!!

so will the nano replace the mini? or be offered in addition to it?

I think they should keep the mini, maybe bump it up to 8 or 10GB and then add in the nano...
You can't get the Mini now from the Apple store, so it's a replacement.

The oddest part is, judging from the gallery, the Nano's headphone socket is on the BOTTOM. Weird, huh?

Wow...just noticed that the regular iPod went to 30GB for the same price as the old 20. Way to go Apple!

USB Sync On a Bluetooth Phone?

I wonder why they say you have to connect a USB cable to the phone in order to sync your music while the phone supports bluetooth. On top of that, I wonder why Apple didn't update iSync today to support this phone.

I think it is cool, but I am sad to see the iPod mini is gone :( The battery life and 6GB of storage in a small package was nice. Not that it really matters to me since I own a 20GB iPod 4G (or is it 5G now??)with color screen. Cool product non-the-less.

Yeah, I wish there was a 8 GB model for say $299. But they may be supply-limited on the memory.

One the whole though, I think it is a very worthwile update. While my 40GB 4G was being replaced under warranty, I used my wife's Shuffle a lot. It's not just the size, but the weight that is great about flash players. I really got used to hanging it around my neck, preferable for me than keeping the player in my pocket.

Now that I checked, the nano doesn't come with a lanyard.

Oh joy. Another boring iPod design that is the same as the design 4 years ago. *looks under the carpet* I know there is innovation here somewhere. I just can't find it.
Yah for iTunes 5.

Boo for the 100 song iTunes phone and the craptastic Nano. Wouldn't it be nice if Apple would one day actually revamp their design? 30 years from now.....

"Introducing the iPod subatomic. Same great design as the last 40 iterations of the iPod but who cares because we are trendy.”
I don't foresee the iPod ever getting a facelift while its on top of the dog pile.

This "event" was just the side of a complete letdown. Can't wait to get home and play with iTunes 5 and see if there are enough features to warrant a version number jump.

The Nano looks wonderfull. For a size like that, i dont mind the slight drop in specs, its to be expected.

im getting one. There is no stopping me. Finally i can go on a hike with a decent amount of songs, safely.

What a rush this buy will be.
