They need to open a few in Eastern Canada! There are tonnes of universities here and not one Apple Store. I'm in New Brunswick and the nearest Apple Store to me is a 9-10 hour drive.

Not to stereotype, but there are also a tonne of hipster Asians here as well who love their Apple products. Just putting that out there.

If that's the case it's sad. Tampa's metro area is about 3-4 million. So there's 1 for every 2 million.

That's doesn't always work out though. If my calculations are correct, NYC has about 19 million in it's metro area but it only has 5 stores in close proximity. That means it's 1 for almost 4 million.

Either way, I guess it makes sense since Apple is a US company.

Still, Dublin was a shock. At that time it was a greater shock that Paris was without one. Though we only had one then if I remember correctly.

There already are. Check out Tampa and Brandon (just outside of Tampa). Or Baton Rouge. If you're talking about up in the panhandle, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, or Texas perhaps you should narrow your request, the "Gulf Coast" is about 1,631 miles long, so you'd better be specific. :)

Dublins metro area varies depending on what the metro size is. Counting all the way out to bus and train limits north, south and west, you could clock up 2.5 million people easily if not more. I know Belfast has one as part of the UK but its a different island than the rest of UK and the population of Belfast is about 5 -6 times smaller than Dublin. Also if cities like Cardiff have one and Manchester why in gods name can't Dublin? I mean I can't see why we are thinking its country basedd, otherwise whats the point of basing them in cities, why not put them in a neutral area somewhere ? The point is Dublin surely is one of the biggest cities without one, we have a perfect street for it as well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grafton_Street, COME ON APPLE LISTEN ! :p

Yeah, rumours I heard is the old Burger King.

I wouldn't say it's a bad place to put it - it's near the St James centre, and if it is the old Burger King place they get, they've got windows on the front and side of the store, seeing as Apple has a love for glass and light in their stores.

Certainly infinitely better than no store at all and it would be good to get that building given a lick of paint. From what I read the Waterstones lease wasn't allowed to be renewed, so perhaps they are taking that as well.

I just think that more to the West End would be better. George Street would have been even better again as that is more high-end than Princes Street, I guess it just doesn't have units available with the necessary space.

An Apple Store in an old Burger King. Never thought I'd hear those words.

There are 0. Zero. Apple stores in the Scandinavian countries! My nearest Apple Store, (not Apple retailer, those are everywhere) is in BERLIN, GERMANY! 12 HOURS by car! Or maybe by air plane to London in 2.5 hours + 1 hour by taxi, Come on Apple. Give us some love!
You said it!
About time we get Apple Retail Stores in Scandinavia. It's a pain in the ass to travel 4-5 hours by plane (including to/from airports) to get to the closest one in Hamburg, Germany. To get there by car is a 500 miles and 11 hours ride - one way.

So, please Apple give us some long avaited love. Open stores in Oslo (Norway), Stockholm (Sweden) and Copenhagen (Denmark) this year. :apple:

Three words:

1. Cashed.
2. Up.
3. Bogans.

Many, many McMansions out there and loads of disposable income.

Even still, the 'riff wouldn't be my first choice...

Not to mention the "Landed Gentry" from over and on the hill.
Penrith is "Town" enough for a lot of them.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd like to see as many Apple stores as there are McDonald's and WalMart's. I think every town in the world should have at least one, with larger cities having at least a dozen, if not more.

Except there is no Apple Store in Berlin, only resellers!
your nearest is more likely Hamburg.

Then either Oberhausen or Dresden
:apple:

I'm surprised there isn't a flagship store in Toronto yet. We have five regular Apple stores: one downtown in the Eaton Centre, and four on the periphery in Yorkdale, Upper Canada, Square One, and Fairview malls. This is for a metro population of around 5 million.

There was a rumour that a flagship Apple store would be placed in the new 80-storey condo/hotel development at 1 Bloor East (the east end of the ritzy "Mink Mile" shopping street along Bloor St), but that project went under in the crash. It was bought out and restarted under a new name only recently. I think the hotel was deleted from the new version, and I don't know what retail they are planning for. But the local BIA just redid all the sidewalks along Bloor in granite, and planted trees and flowers, so the new project is ripe for high-end retail.

We need one in Asheville, North Carolina! I have never understood why we don't have one here. We have the socioeconomic resources to support one, especially if it were in the Biltmore Park area. Of course, I would be happy to have one anywhere here, even the mall.

The closest Apple Stores to Asheville are in Greenville, SC (over an hour), Knoxville, TN (over two hours), and Charlotte, NC (two and a half hours). We have a store call City Mac that is an authorized retailer but it's not the same, we need our own store here! :apple:

Amen, amen, amen, AMEN! And the Apple Reseller here that I know of is Charlotte Street Computers, not City Mac (unless that's another one). And Apple, just FYI, idiotic Best Buy "Apple Stations" don't count. Just saying.

They should open an apple store in Moncton!

Put more stores in MD. The one in Westfield Montgomery always smells funny for some reason. Towson is too damn far for me.

I go to school in Towson, which is convenient..parents live about 25 minutes from Montgomery Mall but I agree, it always smells funny..and always kind of a miserable experience going there.

The email from Apple says they'll be giving away T-shirts at the opening, is this common?

Wow, if there isn't one in your neck of the woods, am i to assume the new store opening in Anchorage Alaska will be the furthest north store in the world? :)

Pretty cool...as it's been the same for us...have to fly off to Seattle. Fortunately we've got a couple of excellent resellers locally...but the new store should be opening anytime now!

I'm in trouble...this is worse than a neighborhood casino...for me!

Yeah, I guess you are right about the most northern store. :)
It is worth noting that Oslo, Norway is a lot larger than Anchorage. The city have 605.000 inhabitants, and the metro area 1,5 million.

No one would even see it in Grafton Street, too many people. It should be where the Virgin Megastore on the quays used to be.

That's a good location too. I hope they add one in before I return. It would be nice to see what they do for you guys.
