Just checking: I have two local Apple Stores within 20 and 30 minutes drive within the city. Another about 45 minutes drive away and about three more within a two hour drive. On top of that a 40 minute drive takes me to Best Buy, which has an Apple concession staffed by Apple and separate from the usual clueless BB staff.

I really don't need any more playgrounds.

Ireland joining the UK? Never heard such rubbish! ;)

I think Dublin should be next on Apple's list I mean if they're having one in unemployment wrecked Spain it only seems rational.

Hahaha we are so desperate for an Apple Store, and have such an apple addiction we would sell ourselves and our freedom for a few shiny macs and iDevices :p

EDIT , we can't afford them .... LOL

If they haven't done this yet, I'd be surprised.

But I would think that a really good place for an Apple store would be an airport with a lot of people passing through it. ATL, NRT, SIN, or LHR would be really good places to have one, assuming there is already one in the city in question.

I'm really surprised there isn't one in Melbourne's CBD. Swanston St. Walk or the Bourke St. Mall would be perfect for this.

BL.

Dublin is a fast growing city with more and more established businesses moving in. I don't see why you think people can't afford Apple's fancy gadgets?

Yeah but its a different Island totally, Dublin is a weird place though, big enough city in a tiny country. It would make CompuB virtually extinct in a few weeks if it did happen.

CompuB isn't bad but it's just not the same as having an actual Apple store :(

LOL because The Irish Government is taking every last euro of our apple allowance :(

but seriously an Apple store in Dublin would do well no doubt about it, especially on one of the main streets (Henry st, Grafton st, O'Connell Street etc) We've had Hollister and Disney open in the last couple of Months as it is as well as obviously nearly every major retail store people can think of, Apple just seems to be missing. Why Apple couldn't do the same I don't know. Even for the sake of a proper repair facility .

New location in Houston just down the street -- not sure if that's a good thing?

Which one? Memorial City or Willowbrook?

We have four stores in the greater Houston area, I'm not sure where they would put another except maybe Sugar Land.

Number fudging

I think he means "visits" not "visitors". One in six humans is a little presumptuous.

And what's the big whoop anyway?! I mean, tomorrow they'll be selling Lion via the web only and at the same time selling us on it being easier, faster, cheaper, whatever-er that way instead of via brick-and-mortar. It kind of flies in the face of touting how many new stores they have.

They started work on the Marbella one yesterday... spain might have 22% unemployment and 40% in the under 25 age group... but trust me the one in Marbella is not going to have problems selling mac's

I bet all the staff will speak spanish plus either English, Russian or German

We need one in Vienna, Austria!! Austria has none Apple store at the moment!!
i think apple would like to, but they can't find any potential employees who are willing to yell and scream and run like crazy at the opening:) and i think macshark has the best location already on mhilferstr, unless, of course, they got rid of starbucks at oper and opened there. that i would love to see!

There are 0. Zero. Apple stores in the Scandinavian countries! My nearest Apple Store, (not Apple retailer, those are everywhere) is in BERLIN, GERMANY! 12 HOURS by car! Or maybe by air plane to London in 2.5 hours + 1 hour by taxi, Come on Apple. Give us some love!

Rumors are they are looking in. I'd guess Täby Centrum by the time the expansion is done, but I'm not sure where it Stockholm proper they would go. I hear Göteburg is close behind as well.

A few years ago I was in the iStore (or whatever it is called), and was reasonably impressed, but it's time now for a proper store.

Really hoping for a store in Lake Charles.
Once I have the money for an iMac, I'm gonna have to go all the way to Baton Rouge (almost three hours away) to get to my "local" Apple Store. :(

Dublin will never get one, not enough people. Germany, France, Italy and Spain get about one store for every 12,000,000 people.

If that's the case it's sad. Tampa's metro area is about 3-4 million. So there's 1 for every 2 million.

That's doesn't always work out though. If my calculations are correct, NYC has about 19 million in it's metro area but it only has 5 stores in close proximity. That means it's 1 for almost 4 million.

Either way, I guess it makes sense since Apple is a US company.

Still, Dublin was a shock. At that time it was a greater shock that Paris was without one. Though we only had one then if I remember correctly.

Need one along the Gulf Coast... Thanks much:D

There already are. Check out Tampa and Brandon (just outside of Tampa). Or Baton Rouge. If you're talking about up in the panhandle, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, or Texas perhaps you should narrow your request, the "Gulf Coast" is about 1,631 miles long, so you'd better be specific. :)

There are 5 stores in Germany for 80+ million people so I am not surprised there are none in Ireland. I think the smallest country they are in is Switzerland.

It's a shock when you compare Dublin to Tampa. They're roughly the same size. Though Dublin's metro area is smaller. However, we've got two.

But Apple's rollout in America is a little larger.

Don't come to Berlin!

Well to save you some time on your next Apple Store road tour - don't come to Berlin, as we don't have one. Closest is Hamburg I guess... :apple:
