There isnt an Apple store from Tallahassee to Pensacola ( In between these are Panama City Beach, Destin , Miramar Beach , San Destin (Home of San Destin Golf and beach resort) Niceville (Where one of the Jim Carey movies were filmed way back when..) Fort Walton Beach, Navarre , Crestview... You get the point. This area is mostly Military/ Tourists playground or people that know what it would be like to have an Apple store here.

That's the problem. Those are all sparsely populated areas compared to the places they generally put Apple stores. Also, they don't look for tourist areas.

Who wants to buy a new computer and then transport it themselves on a plane while they're on vacation when they probably have an Apple store nearby or can order online?

Instead, they look for metro areas—places that have a large resident population. That's why there are two in Tampa. Orlando breaks that up a bit, but they have a decent population and their tourists are year-round instead of summer only.

Unfortunately, there's just not a metro area in the panhandle. However, TN is not the closest Apple store to you. Jacksonville has one. Birmingham has one. Atlanta has one. Those are all closer than TN. I feel your pain though. Having to go into to Alabama or Georgia sucks. Hopefully, as they add more stores they'll get into more less-densely populated areas. That's how it works with everything, you've got to hit the most people first.

Luckily I live in Tampa. I'm 15 minutes from one store and 25 minutes from another (barring the horrible traffic to get into Brandon and it's horribly laid out mall). They're nothing compared to the stores in larger cities, but I can't complain.

Now, 2 stores in Tampa before Dublin or Paris even got one was a shock when I was in Europe 6 years ago.

As an aside, I find it funny that we have Westfield Shoppingtowns too. They bought up a few of our malls. I hated the name when they first did it.

There are 0. Zero. Apple stores in the Scandinavian countries! My nearest Apple Store, (not Apple retailer, those are everywhere) is in BERLIN, GERMANY! 12 HOURS by car! Or maybe by air plane to London in 2.5 hours + 1 hour by taxi, Come on Apple. Give us some love!

There's one in my area and I've been to the SFO one, but I've only bought 1 magic mouse in there... Probably just because. Everything else I ordered...

They're nice and all, must be great for Apple sales and exposure. But too crowded for me and I'm a bit of a misanthrope... :-D

Cheers

Penrith? Seriously.

Aye -- who the f--- goes to ~Penrith~ ??? It should be somewhere on George Street in the CBD. Hell ... shove it someplace at Central Station even!

Pleeeeease

Wichita kansas? I really hate having the closest apple store be 3 hours away

We need more Apple stores in Atlanta. Every time I go to one of them, it's completely full.

I wonder if Microsoft will be able to keep up.

Easily. Microsoft (a software company) makes their software downloadable so people can buy stuff from the comfort of their own home. Clever eh?

They need a store in Jindabyne or Cooma

They'd make a killing during the winter season, considering they serve two major ski fields and two smaller ones in the region.

Just sayin :D

lol and m$ plan to open 75 stores within 2 years.
apple plan to open 33 in 2 months

so that would be 5 months for apple if plan to match m$'s goal

One in Dublin in Ireland would be nice, there isn't a single one in Ireland!(well Republic Of Ireland) for a city the size of Dublin not to have even a small one is weird (nearly 2 million odd people).

Meh... the first one in Ireland should be in Cork. Just the Apple staff in the city alone could keep it profitable.. :p

Dublin will never get one, not enough people. Germany, France, Italy and Spain get about one store for every 12,000,000 people.

Going into Apple stores makes me want to buy mac products I already own.

Churches should hire the same architects, might get a few more asses on those empty seats.

Yes, they need one in E. Cobb, either Merchants Walk or The Avenue. They could clean up there b/c it's such a royal pain to get to Perimeter and while I love MicroCenter, it's not the best selection or inventory of Apple products.

Belfast has one for a population of 1.5m people in the entire Northern Ireland.....

Only because they have loads in the UK. One for about every 2 million. Unless we rejoin the UK I do not see one in Dublin before the property market recovers.

I have 3 within 40 minutes of me (2 are about 15 from me). Let's get one even closer!

Bergen Count NJ, How about Ridgewood or Midland Park?!

Ocean County, NJ needs one! closest to me is Atlantic City and then the 3 that are up in north Jersey near you. I wait til I go in to NYC once a month and go to Fifth Ave. store.

In my local Apple Store, there are almost never enough associates to help out. The place is packed at 2pm on a Wednesday. It's crazy. I will say, I have used Apple Tech Support at the Apple Store, and they were great. The regular associates have always been helpful too. Never pushy and usually pretty educated. I like the fact that they don't work on commission.

I agree with you about the MS stores. They need associates similar in character and attitude to that of the Apple Store. Best Buy is useless and it's only a matter of time before they go out of business. Plus, Geek Squad is a rip off and if PC users can get help at the MS store, there is no need to pay an absurd amount of money to have a geek who lives in their moms basement analyzing their computer

You do realize that Best Buy sells more than just computers right?

Damn! Just when Microsoft had announced 75 new stores! There is no keeping up with the Apple collective. Resistance if futile.

Yeah but its a different Island totally, Dublin is a weird place though, big enough city in a tiny country. It would make CompuB virtually extinct in a few weeks if it did happen.

Ireland joining the UK? Never heard such rubbish! ;)

I think Dublin should be next on Apple's list I mean if they're having one in unemployment wrecked Spain it only seems rational.
