First setting Cookie Monster go to when setting up new iPhone! :

Last month, Apple shared a charming iPhone 6s ad starring well-known Sesame Street character Cookie Monster, who used the iPhone 6s and the always-on "Hey Siri" feature as a cookie-baking aid.

The spot, which garnered more than 8 million views on YouTube, is one of the most popular ads in Apple's recent history, which is likely why the company today released a followup "Behind the Scenes" video depicting a humorous second look at Cookie Monster as he shoots the ad.

In the ad, we see some before and after shots, showing more footage of Cookie Monster waiting for his cookies. Cookie Monster asks over and over again when his cookies will be ready, and has a cute conversation with Siri where he offers her a cookie when they're done. The video continues on with the ding of the oven and Cookie Monster's excitement over the finished cookies, ending with Siri wishing Cookie Monster good night.

The two ads starring Cookie Monster are two in a series of iPhone 6s ads that have starred various well-known celebrities using different iPhone 6s features. Previous ads have focused on everything from Live Photos to 3D Touch and have starred Jamie Foxx, Bill Hader, Jon Favreau, and Stephen Curry.

They're probably making more money w/ Apple and Cookie Monster in the frame than all the agencies awash in cash from political ads :D

I just love Cookie Monster, cookies and my Apple gear. My day is made!

Too bad they can't make an ad with Alf and a cat in it.

Sorry, LizKat. But the thought just popped into my head as I was looking at your avatar.

I'd also love to see Bert and Ernie in a "I'm a Mac/I'm a PC" type ad. I think that would be pretty hilarious.

Couldn't you have just let Cookie Monster eat the phone ONCE!?!?!?

I thought he tasted it once.

Interestingly enough, when we were watching TV and this commercial came on, it activated hey siri on my wife's 6S and started a 14 minute timer. I thought it was only supposed to turn on with her voice? She sounds absolutely nothing even close to Cookie Monster.

Did she have her finger on the home button... Come on, you're married to the Cookie Monster, nothing to be ashamed about, they're fine people, if a bit blue.

Let's not ignore the reality that Siri is incapable of most interactions depicted in Apple's commercials. My experience is that Siri is an overhyped, unrealiable, one-or-two trick pony that is far from having the abilities that Apple wants us to imagine their voice assistant can perform. Frankly, their advertisements border on false advertising.

~ "I'm a Mac/I'm a PC" ....

I was definitely addicted to the "I'm a Mac/PC" ads. I could get hooked even faster on these if they make a series of them.

I've started using Siri more since I learned a few new Siri capabilities from playing around w/ my iPhone SE as I was setting it up. Finally learned I can tell her "Play some [artist name] FROM MY MUSIC" to make her not stream stuff but use what's on my device. Happy camper with that info for sure.

So I'm ready for more Siri / Cookie Monster ads any time, especially if they want to throw in some more tips Cookie Monster (and we) could use on how to let Siri be even more helpful.

Was told the cookie monster taking the bite out of the Apple logo goes back to internal beer bash videos going back decades. Glad to finally see it publicly.

Um how did he see those ghost cookies? Only those on the inside would see the reflection.

Apple's in-house agency is killing it. I'm impressed.

I've been skeptical about whether Apple could get into video content production and be successful, but seeing how well they've been doing with their ads, it's clear that they've actually got some of the best people in the media business working there.

From a quick google, I saw they recently hired a multi Cannes Award winning Creative director to head up their iPhone ads. A seriously good hire!

That "how bout now?" scene reminds me of my interactions with Siri using my Watch. I keep asking her to set an alarm, and she doesn't respond...

Imminent: someone (probably more) who's going to find some utterly irrelevant thread of negativity about this, pick away at it until it's bright red and sore. Always happens on MR.

I take it you like Cats.

Are you ok?
Are you people going to try and offend me any longer? It's obvious that this behind-the-scenes is clearly a mock-up, there is no way that this legitimately happened behind the scenes (unless the actors are just drunk). It could have happened on the recording scene, but it was definitely intentionally made up by the actors just because they thought that was funny. Might not be scripted, but definitely stupid and not funny at all.

This was a lot funnier that the actual ad and also incorporated Siri more. But still think it would be more effective and in the Sesame Street tradition if CM used some of his time doing other things w/ the phone while clock watching.

Funny for kids I guess. I don't think it would go down so well in the UK. Americans seem to have a cookie obsession. Here in the UK we have biscuits which actually have variety.

Of course Cookie Monster has a cookie obsession - he's Cookie Monster, and that's what he does. Also cookies don't have variety? You visited the wrong bakery when you were in the U.S.

I wish all those websites would write:

"we use cookies on our site to feed the Cookie Monster"

instead of usual:

"we and our partners use cookies on our and other websites. Cookies help personalize bla-bla content, tailor bla-bla Ads, measure their performance, and provide you with a better, faster, safer experience"...

It would be way more believable. ;)

I'm sometimes left speechless reading some of the comments about real or false advertisement or not funny. It reminds me of people saying Star Wars isn't realistic because there is no sound in space so you wouldn't hear anything blow up. That's the part you can't grasp? Not the flying space ships or Death Star or fish man? :)

Relax people. It's just an ad and very funny. Why analyze if it's real or false advertisement. It's just funny!
