Sure I know I’ma long-standing member of this forum and have had to defend my ‘positive’ take on Apple a multitude of times. You’re dammed if you do. But clearly equally Dammed if you don’t. I don’t follow any herd and walk my own path. I love Apple. But I don’t love what I’m seeing on this trailer. There didn’t seem to be any highlight stand out moments, no intriguing story arc, and bland characterisation. It’s only a teaser I know and I hope I’m wrong as I love Jennifer.Because that seems to be the norm here, sadly. Just look at any post, there are always those who have to criticize anything Apple does even when it has nothing to with the topic.
So you want Apple TV+ to just be a clone of Netflix and HBO?
Looks like Apple slapped together a script based on Charlie Rose’s sex scandal on CBS’ morning show, except in this portrayal of reality, there are not as many colored people in the world because everyone is so “color blind” that different looking people don’t get representation on the screen.
I think he wants it to be as compelling as its competitors. So you want Apple TV+ to just be a clone of Netflix and HBO?
Apple can't even seem to get a launch date or a price for this stuff. I heard about this particular show at least 2 years ago on this site, what the heck is taking so long?
Yeah, same here. I am SO OVER the crappy office place comedies. This is a breath of fresh air to me.Based purely on the trailer, I'm in. Looks to be quite a bit more substantial than my initial first impression of 'sit com/drama'.

But not their iPhones? This show is made for women to watch on their iPads.
So if this costs more than Disney+, or even the same, it's going to be a joke.
Welcome to 2019. Everything is dark and bleak.
Yeah, but that's exactly why you want to bundle together. I have an advertising minor that I haven't done much with, lol, but from what I remember you just want people to see value in something. It doesn't matter if they actually use it as long as you can get them to buy or subscribe to it. That's a big reason why you always see things buy one get one half off, or even on things like in-game microtransations for skins you'll have a limited time skin that just came out and it will list the regular price and then the marked down price, even though it never sold for that price before and was sold for that price the entire time it was available. People want to "get in" on a deal. A lot of people see the perceived "value" of a bundle and how they can get everything together for "one low price" or however it's pitched. That gamer might not ever go out of their way to buy into Apple News+, but if you bundle it with everything else and they're paying a few bucks a month for something they never use? That's money in Apple's pocket and in the pockets of the content creators. I know it doesn't make sense to people with common sense like us, but so many people fall victim to this sort of marketing.Well I think there was just a story put out by MR today that said the price of Arcade is going to be $4.99/mo. Now that I can see as being totally worth it for someone who plays lots of iOS/Mac/TV games, and there are more out there than you think.
Yeah if I subscribed to Arcade, News, TV, Music, plus my non-Apple subscriptions like Netflix, Hulu, HBO, and the like, then I would have to spend nearly every waking moment on an Apple device and that's just not feasible haha. But to be fair, I think even Apple realizes this and that might be why they don't want to bundle them all together just yet. For example, some people might be huge news and magazine junkies but not really gamers or TV watchers, so ten bucks a month makes sense for them. Or people who just absolutely love games but hardly ever read magazines. Though I imagine they'll offer them as a bundle in the not too distant future. Probably just trying to see what's popular and what's not so they can bundle them appropriately.
It doesn't matter why, to the consumer. It's all about the value. The reason Disney can afford to lower their pricing is that their offerings are mostly already available from their catalog.
Ah you raise a good point about the family thing that someone like myself, a young single guy, naturally would not think of first lol. Although I do recall from Apple's services keynote earlier this year that they will be making at least some of the new services shareable across families. Sort of like how you can already do that with Music and iCloud storage.Yeah, but that's exactly why you want to bundle together. One other scenario is the family one. I could see a family bundle being huge once more content is added. There are more varieties of interest. Just taking our family for example, I'm into gaming and my wife likes reading magazines. We both listen to music and there are some shows on Apple TV+ that one might be interested in but not the other, and maybe one so far that we might both like. In our case, a bundle might make sense because we have enough varied interest. Then there are our kids, who don't use devices much, but my daughter just started kindergarten and will get an iPad through school before long and will start having her own tastes in music as well. My son is a couple years behind her. They're also making children's shows on Apple TV+. If they could bundle all of that for around $35/mo and it works across all of our devices and includes 2TB shared iCloud storage, that could be a good value for our family. It all depends on the pricing and content, but I think a bundle makes more sense for families than it does for the majority of individual users.
