If Netflix loses The West Wing I may end up dropping it. I’m guessing they will once WB announces their own service.Yes they do, it's called the plethora of media available on the iTunes Store. But they've utterly failed to properly negotiate a subscription to that content (after at least 5+ years of trying).
Their turning to originals is evidence that they've failed and given up trying, which is a gigantic loss for customers.

Indeed, Netflix has blown all of its cash on garbage, and now can't even stay afloat without raising prices every quarter. I've now canceled my sub on the news of The Office, Friends, and other content being removed at the same time as raising my price for the second time in one year. They're out of their minds and deserve to take a huge hit.
What “Apple TV subscription that everyone wanted” are you referring to?It's so, so sad that this what Apple has become. Instead of finally providing an Apple TV subscription that people wanted, they invent out of thin air around new content that no one wants. Awesome.
Of course, because generation X have had their time!
Relative to the political situation here in the US the last several years, where anchors like Matt Lauer were fired (sexual harassment), as well as Roger Ailes (Fox News) before he died, this show looks to be dealing with the same stuff. Several sitcoms came out in the '70s of similar nature, and they dealt with big topics of the 60s like the Vietnam War, civil rights, women's rights, etc. I'm kind of surprised Apple is putting something like this out there - Tim Cook influence, most likely.I don't live it in the USA but are people really interested in that kind of series (from Apple)?
I'd hope they would make a killer show like GOT or Stranger Things, something that people can easily understand and watch. I thought that was the point of Apple's streaming service - to compete with Netflix, Hulu, HBO etc.
I expected this to be a comedy. In fact i think it maybe should have been. Instead it looks like a self-indulgent drama
The show was originally going to be a comedy, then the #MeToo movement happened, and the creatives were inspired and took the show in another direction. So is this considered a comedy?
Welcome to the modern day comedy. I remember reading a review for a new Brit comedy in the Guardian a few years back and the critic commented that it was good this "comedy" didn't have laugh out loud funny moments in it as that allowed the characters to develop and have depth and emotion.... WTH!?!? That's not a comedy, that's a drama...So is this considered a comedy?
Eh, if Netflix had asked if anyone wanted a show about a senator, or a women's prison, they wouldn't have gotten overwhelmingly positive feedback, but those went on to be pretty compelling TV. It all depends on the writing and acting, and that's hard to judge until after the first few episodes.Oh that’s disappointing. Thought there might be some promise in this show as I like aniston. But I’m just not interested in the lives of vacuous tabloid fodder morning show tv presenter personalities whether in real life or dramatised.
Traditionally, there’s no subject the entertainment business loves more than itself. There’s a sort of presumption within it, that because 100% of the people watching it are watching it, that 100% of everyone is watching it and wants to be in it and cares about every detail of it. It’s more than a little narcissistic. Now excuse me while I listen to any podcast or late night show or talk show, where the guest of honor is not a scientist or philosopher or innovator, but yet another actor, talking about... acting. Maybe they’ll get nominated for an Emmy or a Grammy or an Oscar! I guess we’ll find out when all these people get together and give themselves awards and televise it, expecting us all to tune in and watch, as one the most important nights of the year we all must be waiting for. Gag.not sure this type of melodrama "a TV show about a TV show" will gather much following nor success.
I was just counting on the usual suspect for a monthly service cost from Apple, $9.99. Anything more and this whole thing will be dead before it even starts..So if this costs more than Disney+, or even the same, it's going to be a joke.
because that's what Apple will be doing when no one pays to watch that bomb.
I think it depends on how many shows are available for AppleTV+'s premiere. If it's only the Morning Show, they cannot charge anything. But if they have at least 10 shows premiering at once, they could charge $14.99 monthly.
