Confused...you don’t like it so it’s bad? The other streamers have tons of poor content. Browse Netflix lately? 2/10 hit shows is doing really well.

Apple will figure this out if they stay with it. Content is all about money which Apple has the most.

There should be zero confusion why Apple is doing it. It's all about offering services to monetize a 1.4B device user base and keep people in the ecosystem. Simple, like it or not.

I’d argue Apple has quality content even in their first attempt. Several of their shows are receiving far better user reviews than the initial reviews indicated.

Go to Rotten Tomatoes or IMDB and check out See, Dickinson, For All Mankind, and The Morning Show.

Regardless if you like it or not what other streamers may have, they have lot of options that appeal to different viewers. Something that Apple DOES NOT, even if you think they are producing a couple of good shows.
The point is that it just does not make that much of a business sense to invest billions of dollars on something that they might not even get close to recoup the invested capital.

Companies do it all the time! It's called starting a business. Growing a business. It's always a risk starting something new and there's the risk to lose it all. And they do a risk assessment. They have a plan and money to lose. Why worry so much about it?

Apple’s is only $4.99 for 4K and is free with purchase of Apple device for 12 months. I think Apple understands the current content is limited, but again, they are just getting started.

I also find it hilarious you are questioning Apple’s “business sense” or strategy as they have objectively demonstrated they are the best executing company on the planet.

More services make TOTAL and complete sense.

Apple has failed even after Steve Jobs' coming in few areas: social networks (ping); cloud (icloud still doesn't sync instantaneously, like Dropbox); and content so far. If they can't generate content, which people are willing to watch for free, how they expect to make it paid?

You are the only person on the entire Internet that has panned Apple Arcade so we'll chalk that up to ignorance or irrational Apple hate.

Ouch! Such barbs!
Every second game on AA is a quirky indie title with way too much dialogue from a wistful, uninspired protagonist. If you like it, well done. Enjoy the mediocrity that AA is bringing to the table thus far.

As for ATV+. It could only dream to be as average as AA!
Both services may well be very good one day. But that day is still far away..............!

The Servent Episode is not rendering in Browsers in Windows Laptops.....But showing it in my iPhone 11. Not sure what is the problem...

Borrowed a $25 Roku and found that is works oh so much better than our Samsung Smart TV which is getting phased out in the next day.

Our household is now chock full of Apple stuff with an imac, mbp, 2 2018 mac minis, 2 watches, 3 ipads, and 3 iphone ses. But not Apple TV. Nor Apple streaming, icloud, or music (too expensive, limiting).

We just added Hulu to our entertainment because they picked up Veronica Mars. Then I binged Handmaid’s Tale. We then were able to get Good Place, Stumptown (Oregon), Emergence, and the Runaways. You can even pause your account for something like 3 months at a time.

We’ve had Netflix for about 13 years. We now share the account so the cost is about $7 a month. It used to be better with more movies and lots of BBC. But we still like some of their originals like the 3%, Better Call Saul, Marvel shows, and all the comedy specials.

Amazon we have because we order lots of our necessities like drugs for the dog, clothing, and cooking utensils. The shows are a bonus but we love it nonetheless. Bosch, Ice Pilots, BBC like Broadchurch, Jack Ryan.

Disney-we just got for free because we are on a family unlimited Verizon plan. Not as impressed with it but there’s no accounting for taste.

We are members of Oregon Public Broadcasting so we watch Brooks and Shield, etc via streaming so we can pause and replay things we couldn’t hear.

What’s so hard about breaking even with TV+?

Assuming a budget of 2 billion a year, and $50 per subscriber per year, you need just 40 million subscribers to break even. It’s not limited by country like news is, and Apple doesn’t have to pay royalties unlike Apple Music. Likewise, it’s not mutually exclusive unlike the Apple Music vs Spotify paradigm.

You are also helping to draw more users to the TV app and selling more streaming video subscriptions.

I give it 3 years to turn a profit. Every new endeavour has to start somewhere.

I will worry more for Netflix if I were you.
