These ads just emphasize the poor choice of name. Should have been POD.

The iPod is dead and it would've been nice to see the name persist. HomePod doesn't go well together and Home itself is far too specific for a device that'll be used in offices, retail, etc.

POD would have fit with Apple's newest products: MUSIC, TV, WATCH. HomePod seems like an outlier.
Apple Pod? What. Ew. Stop.

I’m not sure how you couldn’t be sure. Apple has said, repeatedly and from the beginning, that Homepod’s focus is music.

That’s the LAST thing Apple wants....to be seen as an Alexa or Google Home “alternative,” as you say. Apple is defining a *unique* space for HomePod, and then it intends to dominate that space, which is good marketing. If Apple makes people think “I love music, and HomePod is all about the music” then it will have succeeded.

I'm not expecting you to agree, but it feels like Apple's entrance to the market of home "assistants" was to make a high quality speaker. To me, it feels like they missed the mark. But what do I know? I'm sure people will buy these things up.

Just ordered mine. Can’t wait!

For those of you who don’t understand or can’t appreciate the breakthrough innovation Apple brought to market with HomePod, you should read this:
http://iphone.appleinsider.com/arti...-beamforming-and-why-it-needs-an-a8-processor

It’s not about bringing another dumb assistant to market. Seriously, if you want the best assistant, get an Apple Watch. It’s far more capable and more economical than plugging in cheap “smart” speakers throughout the house; not to mention, some of the greatest benefits of these assistants is being able to control things when you’re NOT home.
Article talks about high quality audio but then says things like audio processing and not in the business of stereo. Expecting to hear the music how Apple wants us to hear instead of the Artist.

People will not be significantly smarter after watching those adverts. Maybe not the best idea when trying to establish a new product category.

What value will this add to my life. Currently I'm thinking none. I have a Sonos set up for streaming music. And everything else I have an iPhone with Siri.

Anxiously awaiting your definition of more creative.

You are? I’m flattered lol..

I dunno, I was thinking more along the lines of showing it off in a house. Maybe the owner comes home and has a conversation with it, showing off it’s home kit capabilities.

Ending the commercial with the pod rocking out to an actually good song as oppose to noise.

Yesssss Apple! These ads are awesome. Obviously you all that dislike it are entitled to your opinion, but these are excellent. Simple, cool and to the point.

Love the animation in ads like these. My favorites since the Stickers ad.

Anyone know why HomePod doesn’t support Bluetooth?

Ummmm....
