What is the difference between iTunes Radio currently and the streaming portion of Apple Music? Is the only new portion of Apple Music Connect and Beats1?
iTunes Radio is more like Pandora. You can only choose either the genre or the artist category of music genre but you can't pick and choose which song to listen to on iTunes Radio.

Nailed it. And I think when Apple Music comes out, the concept of radio will be baked in, so you may see some discontinuation of iTunes Radio as we understand it. The thing is, I'm worried the whole integration of all the services will be too complicated, and the keynote has done nothing to change my feelings.

They only care that you buy their products. Their primary goal is to inform developers. The "entertainment" bits are there to help ease the huge amounts of information. It's presentations 101. They are NOT there to entertain you. You can only buy one of the services they announced today.

thanks for saving me the effort by contradicting yourself.

entertaining keynotes have always been part of apple history. they go to great lengths for that and they let musicians perform in addition to funny dialogues and webcam sessions. comments about hair. the list is endless. idk why i even have to tell this on an apple fansite.

You take Apple keynotes way too personally.

They don't. WWDC Keynotes are to inform and entertain developers. The live feed is for developers who can't inform the steep price tag.

why do you state ALL your opinions as facts? how would you know these things with such certainty? how come you speak for everyone?

Save yourself the time and just look at the important clips. One of the most boring keynotes Apple has done in a long time.
Weird. I thought it was one of the best in a long time. Yes, it was almost all software, but the software is all game changing.

The performance boost of Metal alone would've been the highlight of my month, and there was so much more.

Based on the questions and lack of understanding on MR today, I suggest everyone watch the keynote and get your questions answered.

It just strikes me as a great developers conference keynote. These are things developers care about. When the iPhone 6S is announced, I expect things more geared towards us, the consumers.

And yet, Apple INSIST on forcing people to use a Mac or Quicktime to watch these events. How are they ever going to convince non-Apple users to BECOME Apple users, if they don't use STANDARDS (HTML5, MP4) to show their videos? Wake up, Apple - we aren't ALL using Macs and Quick(slow)time.

You don't need to watch the event. Get over yourself.

To those supporting the Keynote... Are you really telling the forum, that Developers need to get excited about checklists in notes? or scrubber bars in the photos app? Or maybe how the cursor gets larger/magnified when you shake it?

Okay sarcasm rant over-The WWDC keynote has in the past been a venue for developers as well as fans (consumer, prosumer, and professionals). In the past they have also been used to announce new products both software and hardware. "Can't innovate no more, my ass" (-Phil).

For today's keynote, it was focused on software, that many won't see for months, and many will be excited for some of the new features and the new optimizations. But all they did was shell out their new music service. Don't get me wrong I know they are dictated by other manufactures in the industry to product updates, but there was nothing for the fans to get excited about. Lets face it, many of us are waiting to post the "HERES MY MONEY, SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY" memes. There were no real timetables apart from the 8.4 Apple Music Launch, everything else is vague for the fall. This leaves many down.

FWIW. I'm sure many product updates will coincide closely with Thunderbolt 3, apart from the Mac Pro, which will see an update after the rest (historically the case). And it would have been an amazing "one more thing" if Tim had said "you know, we charge a ridiculous amount for those new retina MacBooks, but has anyone noticed there is no icon above the USB-C port,... well it's really a Thunderbolt 3! And here is the new amazing Thunderbolt 3 Retina Display with optional auxiliary support with USB-C. Oh and a new Force-Touch Track Pad. And finally the Apple iArchive, a super RAID to automatically back up your iTunes purchases, so your content can never be pulled."

Now those would have been some announcements I could get behind.

Yeah this keynote was a sleeper. They could have cut it for less time.
Iovine, the watch guy and Cue presentations were tough to watch.
I liked the OS X and IOS. The two had some good moments but honestly I was looking for some hardware. Previous WWDC's had it. ATV would be awesome.
Anyway, always looking forward for the next keynote/special event, hopefully around September/October.

They should've ended on a high note after announcing Swift would be open source.

Many of the presenters seemed unusually nervous and unrehearsed for an Apple event.

Did anyone else find iOS 9's preview to be severely underwhelming? Not that Craig would get up there and say how all the bugs introduced in iOS 8 have been worked out, but all he focused on was the new Search and Siri functionality. Is that the only differences between 8 and 9--nothing to speak of under the hood? Surprised by this.

The best part of the keynote was the tongue-in-cheek video they ran before the live portion of the event (particularly the scene in the elevator of the many Tim Cook clones).

I also agree that Jimmy Iovine wasn't a very impressive speaker. The Apple regulars were good, Drake was fine, and the remainder were at least okay. However, what happened to Phil Schiller and Jonathan Ive? In fact, the shout-out to Phil (happy birthday) by Eddy Cue seemed that it almost could have been a kind of swan song for Phil.

I thought it was Phil doing voiceover on that first Apple Music intro video ... but then Trent Reznor appeared. That was a surprise.

Funny, the same was said about the last 3 keynotes.
Really?

I thought the last WWDC was one of the most exciting Apple presentations in a long time. With the introduction of an entirely new language, plus the ability to send SMS to other people directly from my computer. Both of those were some of the most innovative things on the software side to come from Apple in recent memory (in my opinion of course).

LOL, I think you misunderstood my post. I was saying that people say over and over how boring the WWDC keynotes are.
