The show was boring because it was 50% filler to cover the absent Apple TV and streaming service.
I did enjoy the intro and it was probably the best part of the Keynote. The rest of it just seemed kind of jumbled and rushed to me. I think they are getting to the point where there are too many presenters talking about different things and instead of making things extra clear, it makes them more confusing and ruins the quality.
What's the 50% that would have been cut if TV was announced? The show was boring because it was 50% filler to cover the absent Apple TV and streaming service.
For me I am really looking forward to Apple Music, in terms of the presentation if I was Tim Cook I would be very embarrassed of how it was presented especially from executive team members.
Eddy Cue dancing around on stage instead of hitting the facts and why this service is a game changer, he was dressed like he had just come back from a one night stand on the beach..
As for Jimmy (Beats Billionaire) Ivo what a terrible speech, I'm still not sure what he was going on about, just remember seeing Zane Lowe's video and started to put the pieces together.
Anyway, roll on June 30 - lets hope its professional launch.
The new Apple Music service/app/thing occupied the celebrated “one more thing” position, and it was painful to watch. Apple used five presenters—Jimmy Iovine, Trent Reznor, Drake, Zane Lowe, and Eddy Cue—to try to explain what Apple Music is and why we should care, and they all failed. Of the five, Reznor and Lowe acquitted themselves best, but that’s probably because they were recorded, not live. I can imagine Iovine being very persuasive one-on-one or in a small group, but he certainly wasn’t impressive on the big stage. He never gave the impression that the words he was speaking were his. Drake seemed to think he could just wing it during his section; he’s obviously used to adoring fans applauding every off-the-cuff remark he makes on stage. Which leaves us with poor Eddy Cue, who’s going to bear the brunt of the criticism.
And rightly so. He’s the Apple guy in this show, and therefore the heir to the Steve Jobs presentation style. But his part was way long, way boring, and way embarrassing. To be sure, every Eddy Cue presentation is a tightrope walk above a chasm of mortification, but he usually makes his wobbly way from one end to the other. Today he avoided the rope altogether and jumped straight off the edge. Even if Apple Music is really good, there just isn’t enough to it to require 20–25 minutes of laborious explanation and an endless string of music clips.
And nothing justifies the dancing. I’m sure Eddy thought it was funny and self-deprecating, but it was just annoying and a waste of our time. I often think Craig Federighi overdoes the jokes, but he knows when to pull it back and doesn’t let his presentation get derailed. Eddy doesn’t have that sense.
Did anyone else find iOS 9's preview to be severely underwhelming? Not that Craig would get up there and say how all the bugs introduced in iOS 8 have been worked out, but all he focused on was the new Search and Siri functionality. Is that the only differences between 8 and 9--nothing to speak of under the hood? Surprised by this.
Yeah imagine if he talked about performance and battery life improvements.
Oh wait he did.
plus the ability to send SMS to other people directly from my computer. Both of those were some of the most innovative things on the software side to come from Apple in recent memory (in my opinion of course).
You can.All I wanna know is, can I sync playlists for offline listening? Or is MUSIC only a streaming service, and I have to buy the song to get it offline?
As I recall we had some very small OS X and iOS release in the pass as well.I am definitely mad I was stupid enough to waste more than 2 hours of my time on this keynote.
The new features, especially for the iPhone could have as well been introduced in a .1 update.
The Mac features are very minor.
The music streaming service was introduced by saying "awesome" "super cool" "amazing" and "creative" 500 times but in the end it's just the same as Spotify with the very humbling exception that I have been a Spotify customer for more than 2 years while apple is just now trying to compete.
This keynote definitely shows that apple is not pushing it anymore. It's just maintenance, optimization and upgrades.
The apple watch was cool but I personally don't know anyone who has one.
Also the entire keynote seemed very awkward with the tons of karaoke jokes and even every minor feature was either "super cool" or "amazing".
I have been an Apple fan for a long time and remain to be but this really really disappointed me.
So if I'm right, I can: Quit spotify. Get MUSIC, listen to all the songs i want (that's available), sync my playlists for offline listening, listen to live radio from Beats1, for the price of 9.99$?You can.
People love an excuse to whine.Funny how only a few months ago everyone was crying for Apple to slow down and become more boring, to put a break on new features and slow the pace down to focus on bug fixes, performance, battery life, and polish instead of flash and UI-rewrites.
Guess what people? You got exactly what you wished for. And yet you complain. Golf clap internet, you never fail to entertain in your utter predictability.
Save yourself the time and just look at the important clips. One of the most boring keynotes Apple has done in a long time.
You don't have a single iDevice? and you are on MacRumors?
