I though people have been complaining about iTunes for years?

Is it really true that everything was perfect when Jobs was alive, and everything that isn't perfect now, isn't perfect because Jobs isn't still around?

Sure, besides being the only place you can have every single artist you like in one place. Everyone wants to have two separate apps for their music, said no one ever.

I have zero desire to merge iTunes with Spotify. Why should my opinion change just because a different company is running the streaming service?

If you compare these ads to the ones from years ago for the iPod which featured upbeat, exciting tunes and tons of color, these ads are dull and depressing. If I knew nothing about Apple Music, I don't think these ads would make me want to try it. The narrator in the Discovery ad sounds like he's half asleep.
I don't want to defend the new ads but to be fair I think they target a different type of consumer.

Hip, colourful and upbeat, is just dated. The whole industry now goes with "pseudo-intellectual-all-black-and-white-kinda-pretentious-I-don't-care" feel. It's hipster, it's bland but this strategy suggest that the product is framed better and thus allowed to "shine" which is "just a guy playing the guitar".

Ironically, it's never "just a guy", it's a whole team of sound engineers, managers etc. but nevertheless they want to make us believe that all they care is "just music" in it's purest form. So you can paint the colours through the music in your own head instead. In other words it's mainstream pretending not to care of being mainstream and vice versa.

Pretty much.

Not everything was quite perfect when Steve Jobs was around, but all the disasters that have befallen Apple since he died are due to his absence.

So things like MobileMe, iCloud, Maps (I could probably go on) were merely "not quite perfect", and totally down to Jobs.

And anything like AM is a complete disaster, and totally down to Jobs' absence.

Um, OK - do let us know if you ever lose your rose tinted glasses though.

My biggest issue with Apple Music in its current incarnation is that it overheats my iPhone 5C, turning it into a toaster. As I understand it, anything overheating it is quite bad for the battery and other heat-sensitive parts. As a Spotify user I was expecting a way smoother run from AM. I will keep trying it as it moves forward, but for now Spotify iOS app offers a much better experience.

11 Likes? That's awesome. Shows that a lot of people here do not trust what is being said especially by people who have never and will never use the service.

From the tone of the replies, Apple knows how to repel people who would never use its service in any case.

So far, I'm enjoying Apple Music, especially to play the stuff I don't need to download and save, and for discovery.

I want a default stock music app much like the original iPod app which emphasizes your personal music collection and highlights the one of iPhone's original core functionalities: a widescreen iPod with touch controls.

As for the streaming service, are we all quick to forget that Beats was its own app before Apple bought it? That's how it should've stayed and instead of calling it Apple Music, maybe call it Apple Beats or something else to differentiate it from the now convoluted stock music app.
