I tried it using two iOS devices, and she didn't. On an odd note, I started the timer with my own iPhone to see if it was in real time (Hey, the ad is a minute long, and the timer only goes for 50 seconds in the advert). It's about 5 seconds off, so obviously that's the part they cut when the Cookie Monster has to head outside to the garden.

Loved it when he was looking into the kitchen from the outside :)

Great commercial.

Really enjoyed the ad, but on the third run through I saw one of those things that once seen....

He eats the wooden spoon on the table.
Cut to next scene, wooden spoon back on table. Next scene, spoon gone. Next scene, spoon back. Last scene, spoon gone.

Booooo! Give us real features Apple! Are we marketing to kids now using sesame street? Pathetic. How about giving us features like better battery life, HD OLED screens, SD card slot and water proof the damn phone already!

Do you guys really like these "features?" Im hoping Apple does something a little more impressive than this to keep up with the competition.

Honest question. Why in the world would you want a painfully slow SD card? Is it just the cult of personality around it? Is it the fact that everyone on Android cries over it without truly understanding the importance it once had, which was in phones with incredibly limited storage - and only one storage option available to purchase - and the ability to install apps to it? It's been removed from almost all of those phones now for a reason... speed and realibility. They're slow. Apps continue to increase in size, and an app on an SD card takes forever to load and performs terribly. For standard file storage, it's never been easier to offload your data to computers or the cloud. The SD card's time has come and gone, and it was brief.

And on part 2... yes. People really do like those features. Because they are features. Live photos are fantastic and really add depth to an otherwise normal photo. This is especially evident when you have children, as what they do is often clumsy and funny, and their reaction to you noticing them is sometimes hilarious. 3D Touch... it just needs to be used more. It's another way to interface with a device, like introducing a 2-button mouse. How many buttons do we see on a mouse today? 6? 7? Adding a functional input method is never a bad thing.

The other stuff you mention is hardware. An OLED screen? Hardware. Yeah, would be really cool... but a bit troubling with screen burn-in being an issue when this OS is forever a static grid of icons, whereas Android has the app drawer that serves the same function but can be hidden... so I'll gladly take the best LCD on the market for now. Better battery life? Hardware. And already pretty solid, to be honest... one of the best when constantly in use, and definitely the best in the real world because of how well iphones maintain power while standing by. Water proof? Hardware. Yeah, it'd be cool. But at what cost does it come? Doors over the ports are obnoxious.

I abhor advertising in any form, but this commercial made me stop my DVR fast-forward, watch it with increasing glee, and then want to run out and buy an iPhone.

Maybe it is having a child, but this is the first Apple ad I've ever enjoyed or laugh with/at. Great work.

Apple today shared a humorous new iPhone 6s ad that features well-known Sesame Street character Cookie Monster. In the spot, Cookie Monster is baking cookies and using the always-on hands-free "Hey Siri" feature to set a timer.

On the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, the A9 processor and M9 motion coprocessor allows Siri to continuously listen for the "Hey Siri" command without needing to be plugged into power. On older devices, "Hey Siri" is available, but only while an iOS device is charging.

While Cookie Monster impatiently waits for the cookies to be done, he uses "Hey Siri" to play Jim Croce song "Time in a Bottle," and proceeds to pace around the kitchen, gobble up a wooden spoon, and moan about the wait.

The iPhone 6s "Timer" ad starring Cookie Monster is one of several iPhone 6s ads starring well-known celebrities, but it is the first to feature a character rather than an actor or athlete. Previous ads focusing on iPhone 6s features ranging from Live Photos to 3D Touch to the device's A9 processor have starred Jamie Foxx, Bill Hader, Jon Favreau, and Stephen Curry.

True story: My iPhone was next to our bed charging and this commercial came on. Kinda cute, I thought. Then of a sudden MY iPhone announces that it has set its' timer for 14 min. I couldn't believe it and sure enough my phone had started its timer. Bizarre

Funny but most of the commercial isnt promoting the product. Jobs never would have done this. Only 1/6 of the commercial is him actually holding the phone or talking to siri
