Pathetic,
all those objects are fairly soft and don't represent the real problem. Drop test or nothing.

First year I'm actually looking forward to those as this time I consider it important (because Apple is marketing it as such) therefore, drop it baby, drop it! :)

Nothing hard to throw against it? Strange. That's what I'm really concerned about. Not a storm of rubber duckies.

Also, it would be more meaningful to put a competitor phone in there to see what happens. My guess is it would ace the test like the iPhone. My iPhone 4 might have aced it too. I dropped that thing on all kinds of surfaces.

Apparently it was a commercial, not a science experiment. Hope this helps.

See how Apple's ads convey a message?

You can believe it or not, but you walk away knowing WTF is trying to be communicated.

Take notes, Samsung.

Yep, we now know the iPhone 11 Pro can withstand the impact of a stuffed animal :D

But on a serious note - is apple actually claiming anything about durability? Their ads all seem to imply that it is durable...but I haven't seen anything actually stating that this iPhone is more durable than last years.

I have a couple Lightning cables that have been in use for over 4 years now. Still working perfectly.

They do need better strain relief, but as long as you don’t make a habit of yanking them, closing them in drawers, etc., they’ll last years.
I was just joking, echoing the same remarks from every year. I still have my first lightning cable from 2013... the only cable I've ruined was a black one off amazon but because I closed it in a drawer a few times.

All I want to see is a scratch test.

In the announcement video they even showed the phone bouncing around inside a purse with tons of other crap.

Thats what I want to see.

Yep. iPhone 10S Max scratched in the first week for me so I hope this time round the fact that they are banging on about it so much actually means the glass is tough!

I had an iPhone 7 that I routinely submerged, naked, for underwater videos (ocean, pools, sinks, etc.). It never had a single problem. It remains to this day tied with the 5S as my favorite iPhone.

I had an iPhone X that I forgot was in my pocket when I waded into a pool for just a few seconds (less than 2 feet of water). I immediately took it out and let it dry. It became seemingly unresponsive after a few hours, but I was able to take it to a shop and attach another screen to get some data off of it before ordering an express replacement from Apple. I had numerous other issues with the X and its replacement, such as crackling speakers, displaced cameras, noisy haptic engines, creaky cases, and uneven side buttons.

Being the 3rd-generation of that body style, I'm just hoping the 11 Pro I ordered is on the same level as the iPhone 7 in terms of build quality.

It's a troll ad people, clearly there is no intention in showing off durability but to generate gossip. Marketing 101.

The dog one was cute, but the durability test one was silly & kinda lame. It really didn’t show how tough the iphone was. I mean being pelted by plush toys & broccoli? Come on Apple. Funny is good. But this video didn’t exactly instill confidence. Lol

Nothing hard hit the phone. Slow it down to .25 speed. The video implied tough objects were being thrown at the phone, this was not the case.

I love the 'had it naked since day 1 and 270 days later, construction sites, slid down driveway on it's face, kept in pocket with keys and not one microscopic scratch, amazing!' posts.

Yes its very tough for Apple out there as so many companies are putting out way better phones than Apple.

Lol

There aren’t better phones seeing as they don’t run IOS ...no matter how good android hardware is the software will least be lagging behind for most people’s needs

I love how comments are disabled for all Apple YouTube videos. Gee, I wonder why...?

Better is subjective. How do you measure "better"?

I had the Note 10+ for awhile and the experience on it was that some things were great, while other things were downright bad.

I use CarPlay every time I get in my car, with the Note 10+ I used Android Auto which was always a question as to if parts of it would work or not. Amazon app, frequently buttons would just not "work" while they do on other handsets.

Every device has it's flaws, there is only a "it works best for me" idea.

Because YT comments are generally on the level of sushi at a gas station in quality.

What a strange ad! A constant stream of soft toys and rubber bands flying at the phone? What the hell does that show?

Drop it from three feet high without a case and show me that the screen is still intact. THAT will impress me.

I was actually surprised with my XS Max. I dropped it several times, a couple of times directly on the screen. One on a rock while out in Colorado (directly impact to the screen), it scratched it but that was it. I was SURE I had a broken phone after that. That was from about 3 feet up. Surprisingly this phone was extremely durable, I ran it for the year I have had it without a case.

Ok then why does it get so many cases while the iPhone 11 which is less durable than the 11 Pro get only three cases.
