3D Touch is good, but not great, and surely not necessary.

If I 3D Touch on a link, the peek will still open the whole webpage and loads everything. If the website is large, it takes a lot of time, and the loading needs to repeat if the peek accidentally disappears and I 3D Touch it again.

Peeking of images are more useful, but I don't see why I couldn't just tap the picture to open it.

But the flight info thing is interesting and I never tried it before. I'm wondering if this is a built-in function of iOS? Can I activate it anywhere else like Spotlight? (Edit: Spotlight is negative. Typing in a flight number shows nothing.)

Yeah I get you with the finger obstructing the content thing! I don't have a 6s of my own but from the little amount of time I have used one and tried out 3D Touch, that was getting annoying.

Also, the swipe up for more actions was very annoying when the thing I was peeking into just so happened to be at the top of the screen. Left no room to slide up and reveal the actions.

I feel like apple needs to revise some things here. Maybe allow us to let go after initiating a peek, do a regular tap to dismiss afterword, press hard to pop, and swipe up for the actions. We shouldn't have to keep our finger on the screen with added pressure so we cover everything up.

You can move your finger down, out of the way.

The ad is amazing and it serves its purpose to advertise. If you have iPhone 6 don't worry about upgrading, unless you're on that lease thing like jump on demand like me. Is it a better and faster phone of course it is. If you're using older than iPhone 6 you would appreciate the speed and bigger screen. The 3D Touch is more like gimmicky FOR NOW but eventually it becomes useful when developer gets creative with it. The only I really appreciate from improvements is the added more RAM. Even the TouchID his just annoyingly fast.

Has anyone been frustrated where, you wake your 6s and try to 3D touch on camera, phone, etc and it won't register? And then after a couple of tries it does work? Or am I alone in this?

Totally agree. The groundwork is there, and I feel the concept is excellent. But it matters where on the screen you initiate. Anywhere around the edge and you lose the easy functionality.

I hope that we'll see it spread to loads of apps in new and improved ways that will help show off the potentials.

When I first used 3D Touch on the phone app, it would should contacts. Now when I 3D Touch on the phone app it just says create new contact. Anyone know what would cause this?

Great ad. I love the swagger and sass that Apple is displaying with these. They know they're on top and can poke fun at the "nothing's changed" reaction to the S models, while keeping a positive tone.

Great job! 3D touch is a great addition.. Hopefully Apple doesn't abandon it like it abandoned siri

Today a friend and I were playing around with our phones.. He used google now, I used Siri... Google now killed me ever time! I ended up asking Siri to just google... Google now understood me just fine too..

Siri you suck, 3D touch.. good job!

For me it just took some muscle memory. Once you get it down it works perfect. My biggest problem with the iPhone 6s is the super fast finger print scanner. I used to tap the home button and then swipe up for the camera, now I can't. It's quite irritating because that is the only way I get to the camera. I have to learn to use the side power button now. Hard to break the habit.

Just wanted to note that you don't have to maintain the added pressure while in 'peek', just contact with your finger. I only just got the 6s and I've been trying to remember to use it to try it out. Not holding the pressure does give it a bit more of the 'it's like a right click' feel that I've seen mentioned.

I don't like the ad at all, it feels far too fast and there's no visual difference between regular touch and force touch, people are pushing, she's commenting, things are happening, who knows what... the beat goes fast and the ad is over.

(I did have a drink, but since most of the TV people have a beer on their couch, it's real life conditions)

Pretty good ad, but the opening line, "This is the iPhone 6S – not much has changed, but it feels different" is a really bad way to start. Instead of "the only thing that's changed is everything", it makes the 6S sound like not much really has changed. Even worse, it suggests the change is somehow touchy-feely subjective, and not objectively changed. That's a really negative tone to start the ad with. The ad does a pretty good job of showing off 3D Touch – though I think they should've waited until more apps are out there with interesting uses – but that first impression makes it sound like that's all the new iPhone has going for it.
