3D touch is great, yes, but it doesn't justify a slogan saying "the only thing that has changed is everything". Apart from peeking and widening you pen when drawing, I don't see too many use cases. Guess the phones are to good to be further improved...

I'll be honest and I know I'll piss people off here by saying this but I've found 3D touch to be pretty 'meh'. I was really excited for the feature but you just have to press way too hard. I've got it set to the most sensitive level and I have to grip the phone harder with my other fingers and push much harder than I've ever tapped on the screen before to activate 3D touch. It means I just don't use it, it's too awkward.

MAybe it's time you use those exercise balls for your hand...

love the ad, love my iPhone 6s but not 3D touch...
it feels like it should be a key feature, however I always find myself tapping on anything instead of using 3D touch. it's faster. (and yes you can still see flight informations, places on map, etc..)

Really, there's many things that can be way faster, in ways that are impossible any other way.

Maybe it's just because your not used to the gesture.

Me too.

I hate the awful music as well; reminds me of a Microsoft ad.

Nor could I see what was so great about 3D Touch. Nothing there that can be achieved just as fast by tapping.

Sorry I can't be more positive.

Well I disagree with you about 3D touch. I love it with Mail. It's MUCH faster and more convenient than tapping.

Since 3D Touch involves hardware, how does jailbreaking help?

It doesn't. It changed long press to make new menus pop but now you would have to swipe up to delete app. This is no where close to how 3D touch works.

I think Apple made this ad for a reason. I can't imagine how many calls CS got with users stating "My screen is not 3D when I touch it".

cool, I still feel 3d touch to be more cumbersome and slower than double pressing etc for my day to day and so far I barely use it. I do like the back to feature, but that is in all iOS devices with iOS9.

I had the same issues and can now pop it really fast when I get it registered which is 70/30, I do have at med now. BUT I still find double pressing etc to be faster than peaking etc because it is just too slow to pop up. I only use it for safari links pop up and phone and msg to a few times

Well, this is the main point, I think. They've run out of things to add. The iPhone 6 was about as perfect a phone as you could ever hope for. Now they're just desperately looking for new features to make people keep upgrading. (That's probably why they invented their new upgrade plan.)

For example, do we really need a better camera? Really? What on earth are people doing with their photos? Do we need the silly Harry Potter photos you can take with a 6S? Does the processor really need to be faster? Are iPhone 6 users holding their phones and yelling "hurry up!" every time they launch an app? Really?

Yeah I get you with the finger obstructing the content thing! I don't have a 6s of my own but from the little amount of time I have used one and tried out 3D Touch, that was getting annoying.

Also, the swipe up for more actions was very annoying when the thing I was peeking into just so happened to be at the top of the screen. Left no room to slide up and reveal the actions.

I feel like apple needs to revise some things here. Maybe allow us to let go after initiating a peek, do a regular tap to dismiss afterword, press hard to pop, and swipe up for the actions. We shouldn't have to keep our finger on the screen with added pressure so we cover everything up.
You don't need the pressure after initiating. The pressure is for starting the process than a light pressure on the screen to move things around.

Agreed! I find it more useful and quicker to open an app than to use the 3-D short cuts.

Do you think it's because you have done it the other way for so long? Or just not really worth it in general..

I think it's a good evolution. I hope they keep trying to improve it and not pull a Siri

I don't know really. I've only had my phone a couple of weeks so it's not a fair trial. The use of the short cuts would have be second nature which would be a matter of time. For me the jury is still out.

A major part of it is that 3D Touch Home Screen implementation isn't very useful and has you opening the App anyway.

3D Touch a supported app and what do you get?

Facebook - "Post new Pic" rather than a peek at your feed.

Mail - "3 Unread Mail" but no preview or info on who it's from.

Messages - Names of people you text but not what they actually said

App Store - "Redeem" instead of a list of new hottest apps or updates

Photos - Dialog Box rather than actual Recent Photos

Music - Advertisement for Beats1

The problem with 3D Touch is that these are phones not laptops and so contextual based menus (of vague data already seen on the Badge) just isn't useful. And if that's the case then why learn a new muscle memory that doesn't even give you the results you were looking for.

(Note: I get it. Home Screen Force Touch is more about "Create New" shortcuts. But, other than Camera, then how often do we "Create New" as opposed to "View Existing".)
