Smartphones remind me of car makers that are running out of ideas so they're pumping them full of unnecessary features to drive the price up.
Whats wrong with the display? That's the one thing I love about it.
And?
Do you mean FaceID? I suppose it depends on length of beard, color, e.g. But that's probably more of an edge case. What about angles and distance? I find that I have to match both up perfectly and even going a little out of the way misses it.
One problem with your comment to "you": MR editorial staff do not necessarily read comments. The "corrections" item in the Forum Rules notes the proper way to point out an error to the editorial staff.
Glad faceid works so well in your world. Touchid was flawless for me. Faceid has not been. Life goes on.Works darn better than TouchID, I can tell you that. In my real world.
Accuracy? TouchID? Lol. If I get even slightly sweaty or my skin get even a little dry - or a butterfly flaps its wings somewhere - it fails to register.
This is not worth 1.5 minutes of my life.
Newsflash... Not everything Steve did was perfect.
Seriously what is wrong with some of you? It’s astounding how many people believe everything went swimmingly when Steve was alive and that Tim is ruining Apple.
There were problems back then and there will still be problems. Last I checked Apple is still insanely popular/profitable, has awesome products and is branching out.
Relax.
Face Database. China already has one.
Both have their pros and cons. In the bath FaceID works much better, and taking a quick glance at notifications without needing to grab your phone is helpful. But I hate how it doesn‘t work even at a slight angle. When the phone lies on a table, you need to really bend down to get your face right above it to unlock.Glad faceid works so well in your world. I felt completely different about it. I think the scenario was unrealistic und unoriginal, the part that was supposed to show the rising tension in the audience felt loud and almost offensive to me (like a person yelling right into your ear), and the resolution was lame. And all that in 90 seconds where 10 should have sufficed. Felt rather samsungy to me.Quite frankly this is one of best ads from Apple in a long time. Brilliant.
Strange how some here can’t step out of their own little boxes and see that this ad captivates, motivates, and most importantly highlights a feature that has actually been pretty stable since its introduction.
Yea, I think they can take credit for it.
Man I could write a novella on all the instances where faceid fails for me. In sunlight outside. Wearing a surgical mask at work. Trying to hide my phone under a table at a conference. When the screen turns off for whatever reason while using gps in the car and I don’t want to hold it up in front of my face to unlock it again. Lying on my side in bed. The list goes on. I don’t wear gloves, and apparently when I run several miles, my hands don’t sweat enough for Touch ID to fail. I do like not having bezels though. I do appreciate all these people who think that Apple products should work perfectly for everyone in all instances, but sometimes I have to leave fairyland! Both have their pros and cons. Indeed, I think in this case talking about the ad is potentially more interesting than the ad itself. But posting about it, apparently, is.

That was fixed with iOS 11.3.Too bad Apple doesn't think it's as secure as Touch ID.

Gee, thanks for the helpful comment.Gee — hmm my experience has been the complete opposite.
Moving the goalpost, I see.But have they fixed the mistaken identify with Face ID? Way too many false positives so it's not trustworthy for banking/payment/etc.
