This place is so incredibly negative.

Well Apple has been sucking for the last couple of years, so sorry people aren’t all cheery about a slowfi!

Today I cursed Tim cook’s name again, I wanted to show a family video but couldn’t because I didn’t have a dongle! Thank god someone had a laptop with HDMI to save the day.

So I could care less about slowfi, Tim can shove it along with his dongles.

Ode to the Haters

Apple releases a 16" pro-class MBP with keyboard that everyone was clamoring for.

The haters kept hating.

Apple releases a powerhouse pro-class workstation Mac Pro that everyone was clamoring for.

The haters kept hating.

Apple releases Slofie ads.

Surprise Surprise...

The haters kept hating.

It’s sort of sad what this company’s marketing thinks it needs to do to keep the iPhone “relevant.”
You don’t get it. iPhone has been around for 12 years now so the only consumers on the fence about getting an iPhone each year are young consumers. Everyone else is already locked into Apple’s ecosystem so they don’t need to win those people over. Young consumers are all about things like Tik Tok which this feature is perfect for. Believe it or not, Apple understands their customers and marketing better than we do.

This is why Mac Pro took so many years and iMac is still nowhere to be seen. Hahahaha, stupid Apple nonsense.
Can we get some useful features than these gimmicks, please?
These nonsense for you, makes kids very happy...Apple is about everyone, not just for you

The Venn diagram of the type of person who posts selfies of themselves all the time doesn’t overlap with the type of person who would be okay with unflattering slow motion footage of their jowls flapping in the breeze being posted online. Nobody asked for this and I don’t know who this is for. I haven’t even tried it yet out of curiosity and I’m an intensely curious person.

Started all those years ago when Uncle Steve demoed Photo Booth. Then dropped Computer from Apple Computer. Devastating. Computers are serious tools. We should be reading philosophy and learning physics and molecular gastronomy. Kids these days. Only care about themselves. Shake my head.

I completely forgot that my phone does this. And I will forget as soon as I close this tab. ;)

Just like when I only get remembered there is force touch whenever I read an article about it. Never used it besides the novelty on day one and never will use it again cause there is nothing useful it can do for me.

This ad confirms that my XS Max is appropriate for me and won’t require an upgrade for a long time. No negativity, it just offers what I use. Thank you for showcasing other potential features in other models.

I have teen daughters and so, I probably have a perspective that others don't. I can safely say this whole slofie thing is not only cringy to watch, its not really catching on AFAIK. These commercials are apple's attempt to make a fad.

Right on, brother! At my niece’s wedding was a photo booth. I absolutely denied taking photos together with her. Felt so good to reject her. I watched a parade of narcissists taking photos of themselves! So much cringe! No one needs to take photos or videos of themselves! Absolutely no fun on my phone, that’s for sure!

You actually missed my point. I'm not against selfies, and I fully understand they are a thing. Its SLOFIEs that are cringy and AFAIK are not taking off, and I stand by my sentiment that the commercials are just Apple's attempt to get people using them because they're not

Was going to say something similar. I have a 17 yo daughter. Neither she nor her friends like all these stupid things from Apple. I ask her whenever things like this come out. She laughs and says nobody she knows would be caught dead using these stupid things. And this is coming from a goofy girl and her goofy friends. They aren’t the “serious” type (except for grades in school)

But the adult cheerleaders in the room just don’t want to hear it. Some, simply because the AAPL stock they hold.

Neat little feature (slow motion selfie video) with a terrible, terrible name (slofie). Reminds me of Sony and their penchant for bad product names for great products. Sony Wireless NC headphones: Great product. Terrible name: WH-1000XM3

Ah yes, the misguided "these dollars should be spent elsewhere" argument as if that's how it works
Sure, Apple has plenty of money and could choose to spend more on R&D for other areas (MacBooks, etc.) while *also* spending R&D money on things like this. But, generally speaking, companies allocate resources based on the priorities that upper management sets, and they sometimes make bad decisions.

What is your evidence more money would change the outcome of the MacBook or that Slofies took any dollars away from other initiatives? What credibility do you have to call this a bad decision?

In the end, you just have your own personal opinion on the importance of features and the state of current products.

Apple’s results confirm their strategy is working, Slofies and all.

It gets so old for armchair CEOs to sit there and say more money spent on your favorite product would somehow change it. Maybe you just don’t like Apple anymore. Other people do.
