In my opinion, taking slow-motion videos of yourself is not conducive for a healthy society with responsible citizens. I take great issue with this ad campaign and this gimmicky feature. It’s cringe beyond anything.
Again, different planet. The health of the nation isn’t at risk because of ‘Slofies’ and it certainly doesn’t make people irresponsible.

This was the beginning of the end as Apple making serious computers for serious people. This is absolutely disgusting behavior from a CEO and co-founder. This was a so-called visionary.
Instead of chastising UI designer Mike Matas for wasting resources, Jobs shipped it! Sickening that people use computers for fun.
Yes, it’s absolutely disgusting that a true visionary and brilliant inventor is crapped on by those who have invented absolutely nothing in comparison.

And it is sickening, but more so sad and pathetic, that some don’t realize how important joy is to a life well-lived, and how computers can bring such fun and joy to the human race.

Of course, Apple just released their most serious computer for serious people in the last 45 years, so your first claim is just as ridiculous as the others 🙄 o_O

Apple today shared four new "Slofie" videos on its YouTube channel, each shot on the iPhone 11.

"Slofie" is Apple's marketing term for a slow-motion selfie video. Unlike older iPhones, the front-facing camera on iPhone 11 models supports slow-motion video recording at 120 frames per second.

Humm..they're funny. What's the problem?

‘This feature brought to you by the funds that should have been allocated towards the prosumer devices.’
Nah, Apple has enough money not to worry about this. I get that dev resources don't scale with money, but this is marketing, so worst case they're wasting time that could've been spent on better ads.

Also glad you posted this screenshot. I had never seen it.

Many years ago, I hated apple and their pretentious products, mostly because that's how I portrayed the users. Buuuuut, their marketing was top notch and echoed simplicity and serenity within their eco system. Even though I disliked apple for the most part I could not deny the allure the commercials had.

Not every feature Apple implements is meant for every segment of society.

Like it or not, the young whipper snappers are a focal point for advertisers as well as adults who are trying to monetize their personal life through social media.

Iphone features have nothing to do with the current state of other Apple products mentioned so, stop with the logical fallacy rhetoric.
Well said. The ads are super funny — even if I will never use the feature. The negativity in these comments is such a downer. I really want to believe these comments are from bots because it pains me to accept that there are so many people who can’t allow themself to laugh at something so funny.

I agree. The criticism, condemnation, and negativity from people whose only invention is contrived outrage is depressing. We all need joy in our lives and it‘s delightful when it comes from something unexpected — like these clever ads about a feature that might not appeal to us.

Can you please pull down that first image or post more stories? It's the stuff of which nightmares are made and it's not rolling below the fold fast enough.
