I'm not a WhatsApp user because Facebook, but it's pretty huge for some people. I was migrating some relatives over to iPhone who had lots of years of history here, and this was nearly a deal breaker.

WhatsApp itself CANNOT DO IT - your message history is all stored on your device. The only way to do it is with dodgy 3rd party software which started installing viruses on my desktop as well.

So yeah, anyway, think about the apps you care about and research them.
It’s literally in the video showing the ability to transfer WhatsApp data …

"How do I use the 10x Telephoto Lens or take moon shots?"

"Uhhhh...gotta go!"
Realistically? Go and buy a decent DLSR or mirrorless, a nice telephoto lens, tripod, remote, star tracker, etc, and stop taking silly, boring moon pics with a phone.

That said, it is pretty awesome how phone cameras keep getting better and better. As they say, the best camera is the one you have with you. An iPhone Pro is tempting me, purely for the higher quality night life party pics I'd be able to take.

Apple is designed to be secure?

if you belive in that steamy pile, like Volvo is safer than othet cars
I mean, it’s more equal these days but 30+ years ago Volvo was significantly safer than most cars.

Hell, Volvo designed the 3-point seat belt that you have in your car now and made it open so everyone could use it.

Are Volvos still the safest car? Largely yes but they’ve done so much to bring the entire market to the same standard.

Sooooo….

I made the switch around 2012 and same never looked back. I’ve always been a little curious but recently I got an android phone from my employer. Let’s just say that made me really confident that I made the right decision and killed my curiosity
Yup. Android users like to poke fun at these videos, but they are made for the “layman” rather than tech freak like most people here. I am a dedicated Apple user, but show me something better and I might just jump ship….(nah….)

To be fair, Tesla has the highest crash test rating of any production car.
To be fair the IIHS web site gives a better overall rank to the Volvo's. That pesky Lower leg/foot injury in the Tesla only ranked it acceptable, compared to good for the Volvo's.

That's really mature of you to name-call and body shame.
I'm not doing either of those things. Do you have an actual argument?

Watching a YouTube video is too much for them.
Yeeees, bring it!
Bring it on for Android, not iOS, thank you very much.
Doesn't apple do this every couple of years?
Not that I remember of, no.

Wake up! It's 2022! ;)
do they cover how to switch to the lightning cable?
No, I assume it's common sense that you can just purchase one for a couple of bucks. 🤷‍♂️
lovely video, but when you know what you are actually signing up for. Depression hits like a truck
In what world is that true? If anything, the average experience is quite the opposite.

Yes, exactly. Some people just don't get it... 🤦‍♂️
Depends on the phone, same as with iPhones.
I assume it'd be more comparable if the background listening service was turned off on the Android smartphone.

Name a single folding smartphone that has been as successful…
First, define successful. I am never buying another iPhone that is larger than my 13 mini, yet it is going away so I only like features that are unsuccessful? But still, Apple made millions of dollars off the 12/13 mini. Not successful enough for you?
Second, why does switching to an iPhone have to be because something about it is "successful"?

Your "Apple is the only one on the top tier" colors are showing.

If I switch to iPhone:
Will my purchases from the Google AppStore transfer over?
Can I bring my older 32 bit apps over to the iPhone?
Will I have RTS text message capability?
Can I side load apps from third-party developers?
Can I expand the storage by inserting a SD card?
Does the iCloud storage match the storage capacity of the iPhone?
Can I load apps from my computer?
Am I able to download apps from my iPhone to my computer?
Will my Google earbuds have full functionality on my iPhone?
Does the iPhone have under the screen fingerprint sensor?
Does the iPhone have 50 megapixel camera?
Can I use my existing USB-C charger on my iPhone?
How well does the iPhone sync with my Windows 11 computer?
Will I still be able to airplay from my iPhone to my Google Chromecast devices?
Am I able to load antivirus on my iPhone?
What kind of dongles do I need to purchase for my iPhone that I don’t need for my android device?

Phones aside, where are you getting the idea that Volvos aren’t safer than other cars are? A few decades ago they were definitely one of the safest and most reliable car brands and while other brands have caught quite a bit up nowadays, Volvos are still known for their safety AFAIK

signing up for the “iOS experience” ( will never Have the freedom , ever again) has it’s short comings. And it’s not your place to doubt how people feel about this os.

Apple puts in features Android had years prior and pretends they invented it.
When did they do that? Don’t just repeat old memes. When did Apple claim to invent something that they copied from Android, in recent years?

Apple doesn't innovate anymore.
No, I mean, they only designed their own CPU and such small things..

Secure? Yeah ok. Tell that to iPhone users in Brazil who lost their savings for thieves.
That’s not due to device security.

And when Apple sells iPhones with things like: the need to type a passcode to turn the iPhone off by default.
What would that achieve? People could use tinfoil or a hammer.

And have an alphanumeric passcode (my wife's iPhone can be unlocked with a 4 digit code...)
The default is 6 digits, so that’s on your wife. Also, since attempts are rate limited it’s not something you can simply brute force. Alphanumeric passcodes are also an available option.

and, ask for password by default (and not making the user have to set it) to change FaceID.
It asks for passcode when changing FaceID.

Until then, this "secure" thing is just BS and marketing.
So, until Apple implements everything on some arbitrary personal list of yours it’s not only not perfect, no it’s just “BS and marketing“, got it :p

100% agree. I've managed to get most of my family switched over to an iPhone and they are much happier with their iPhones compared to when they had Samsung devices.
I can’t get my husband to switch over. I wish he would. But he just doesn’t want to upgrade his phone. He’s had the same phone since 2017. We are such a contrast. I upgrade every year and he keeps the same phone for 5 years lol

10x telephoto? How far do you stand from your subject? A kilometer?
If you care so much about zoom and photo quality, get a DSLR, not an Android phone😂

Also, how often do you take photos of the moon? Lol.
Last I heard Google had far higher quality satelite photos than your peasant Android phone camera could ever imagine. Click > download.

Heres a 209-Megapixel moon photo taken from an Astrophotographer.

👍🏻
To be fair the zoom lense on the Samsung ultra is really good. It’s not a gimmick and can’t wait for the iPhone to get a periscope lens in 2023. However it’s not worth switching over or getting a second device.

LOL OK!
-Widgets
-App Library
-Default Browser/Mail apps
-Calls notifications in a small window instead of full screen
-Picture in picture
-Winddown mode
-Bike navigation
-App Clips
-Password Monitoring in Safari
-Suggested Apps

Is that enough or are we still pretending Apple invented everything?

greed really has no end does it? they have like 40% of users yet they want more.

Functionality wise iphone is great but I really do not like 2 companies controlling the global market, we really do need more competition here. Same on desktop., at least on desktop linux can function decently for home users albeit the apps always looks like they are in beta form.

I am amused by all the snarky responses here.

It’s increasingly clear from strong iphone sales that Apple’s strengthening ecosystem (i.e. wearables) is likely responsible for drawing Android users to iPhone for the first time. Smartphone industry weakness is also at play as competitors find it harder to stand out on the feature front.

Pointing out how the iPhone doesn’t let you do stuff like sideload apps ignores the inconvenient truth that said feature simply doesn’t matter to the majority of smartphone users, be they on iOS or Android.

At the end of the day, users are not going to miss what they don’t need. Bury your heads in the sand all you want. You cannot deny what is to come.
