I disagree with any public parade designed to support an agenda and I believe that these parades are very intolerant towards views different then their own. This would also apply to a white pride parade, a catholic (or any other religion) parade, a straight pride parade, etc.

Do we really need this? Just make the damn iPhones and iPads and leave the social issues out. Any company who does this runs the risk of alienating customers. Not good business.

I don't think Apple gives a flying **** if a handful of customers stop buying Apple products because of their support of LGBT rights.

Good luck to the people who leave. Microsoft and Google are just as supportive of equality. If they don't want to buy products from companies that support equality, they'll have to go back to living in the stone age, which shouldn't be a stretch for them because their beliefs are already from the stone age.

I'm disgusted.

There. I gave my opinion and there is no need to quote me saying that I don't need to buy Apple products anymore and that I'm so stupid or simple-minded, etc.

Sure, everyone is brave behind fake screen names on message boards

People talking about equality... but gays get their own parade. Do companies put forth the same effort to recognize straight people by having their own parade to celebrate their sexual preference?

Are groups actively seeking to oppress and discriminate against straight people?

I'm
With you. Men are built for women and vice versa

Well of course they are, but nature can do some pretty random things like making men and women biologically attracted to the same sex.

Are you going to persecute these people for what their bodies are telling them?

Do you remember making a conscious decision to be attracted to women, because I certainly didn't. Once puberty kicked in, this irrational attraction just took over my mind, I couldn't help it.

It's clearly a biological effect, and no different for gay people. Just leave them to get on with enjoying their lives, these people aren't affecting you in any way.

At-Will employment. Get used to it. Meanwhile, I hope all your Matthewsesque diatribe isn't disturbing others around you either.

I don't participate in any political discussions, left or right, in work settings as it serves no purpose and almost always poisons work environments. Chris Matthews and Rush Limbaugh are both tools cut from the same cloth, but good job with your assumptions.

Then explain to me, Mr. Brainwashingourchildren, why do we exist? Why does matter exist? How can something, come from nothing? Surely someone had to have created this entire universe, as it couldn't come from a point of nothing.

You are mixing the question of existence of God with Jesus. Many other religions, in fact all other religions, have other views. Judiasm that doesn't acknowledge him, and Islam, simply acknowledges him as a prophet, a human being. Hinduism and other smaller religions have their own views of God.

I'm a minority. I wish Apple would side with me. (And back it up with some cash.)

Since such a parade would inevitably turn out to be not a parade FOR Jesus, but an excuse to peddle hatred towards others... no.

What? Using your flawed logic we could say that the LGBT march is a march against heterosexuals...which I know it isn't, but for you to say pro-Jesus march would be anti-anything is naive and bigoted and I can't believe the hypocrisy of your statement.

that is illegal ... just so you are aware.
Just so you are aware, it's not illegal in Virginia.

VA defines these as the only protected classes in the workplace:

• Race
• Color
• National origin
• Religion
• Sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions)
• Disability
• Age (40 and older)
• Citizenship status
• Genetic information
• Marital Status

The prides let anyone in... how are they designed to support an agenda?

Of course they let everyone in but, if you march in the parade, you are showing your support for gay pride. I would not have an issue if they called it the unity and tolerance parade since that is inclusive for everyone. It's not just the gay pride parade I have an issue with but it's any public parade designed to support a specific group or specific viewpoint.

Interesting that no SVPs were there - just Cook and Lisa Jackson. Also found Schiller and Cook's 4th of July tweets interesting. Notice how Cook swaps out the word "life" and replaces it with "equality".

Maybe Tim didn't want to sound intolerant towards the undead.

On the contrary, this makes me much happier about buying Apple's products.

Homophobes are a dying breed, just like the people who supported slavery and denied women the vote before them.
But you still don't get it. Doesn't matter the issue. Apple is a company that makes products. Not a stage for the latest front running social agenda. Any smart business man knows that remaining neutral is always the best way to run a company.

I'd wager for every closed minded bigot who's going to boycott Apple because of their support of equality, there are two sane people on the fence between Apple and a competitor who will now choose Apple because of their support.

If Apple's only goal was to make products for profits, they'd make generic computers and bundle them with Windows, they wouldn't care about the environment and they wouldn't build the Mac Pro in the U.S.A.

Yeah, Apple's history of taking stands on issues of public interest have definitely hurt their bottom line. Any smart business man can see that.

Summary of this thread:

Let me lecture you about why my problem/issue is bigger and more significant than yours, and why you're wrong, stupid and prejudiced if you don't agree.

It's called post modernism. The only moral trump card in post modernism is whether you can show you are potentially hurt more than the other group by the other group's actions/belief. You see it played out in media all the time. Look at any news site and count how many times you see stories about a particular group being morally outraged because something "hurt" them, even if only tangentially. So everyone outdoes everyone else to show why they are hurt more or could be hurt by something.

At some point there will be post-postmodernity. And it will redefine things differently and these arguments will be reframed into some new position. The net root is the same, though: people are selfish.

not that there is anything wrong with it (Seinfeld reference) ... but doesn't it seem like Apple spent way too much money on this?

bicycles (with banana republic satchels), flags, shirts, iTunes gift cards, posters, food, music, etc. ... couldn't this money have been spent maybe educating people on LGBT or donated to groups effected by "bullies" instead of a 1 day parade?

Sorry but I don't believe in being indoctrinated by the "LGBT community" through "sensitivity training". You guys are welcome to express yourselves but please don't force it on others to support you.

As a Christian I believe the Bible to be the Word of God and it clearly states in places such as Romans 1 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 that homosexuality is a sin just like any other. It's not THE sin or the "unpardonable" sin but it's included in the long list of sins against the Creator God. Now that does not mean I'm a so-called "homophobe". I work with numerous professing gays in my workplace and we seem to get along well. At least work wise. I have no hate for those who profess LGBT. But I can't deny the truth of the Bible and will present that truth lovingly to those willing to hear. No one is "born gay" and there's not such thing as a "gay gene" as noted here --> http://christiannews.net/2014/06/23...homosexuality-impossible-to-determine-by-dna/ God calls all of us whether straight or gay to repentance and saving faith in Jesus. Call me what you want but I'm no hater. I simply must present the truth in love and hope that even a handful will come to Christ.

Also for those Christians on here who are for LGBT consider these five questions.
http://thegospelcoalition.org/blogs...ions-for-christians-who-support-gay-marriage/

Also this does not mean I will boycott Apple. I love their products and have used Apple virtually all my life. They make the best out there. Sometimes a bit overpriced for my budget but I would gladly save up for a Mac then settle for a Windows PC. For those on here who are LGBT just know that it's not a hate issue for me. I don't hate you. Not at all. But as long as I'm able I will exercise my freedom OF speech, expression and religion I will proclaim the truth of the Gospel in love. Also I have much respect for Tim Cook. Taking the reigns of Apple after Steve Jobs is no small task. It's a huge responsibility and he seems to be doing very well. Hope Apple continues to succeed for a long time to come.

----------

If you think followers of Jesus are not "victimised in any way what so ever," you are completely wrong. Just one example:

www.persecution.org

Yes Atheists take the p*ss for Christians believing in fairy tales and nonsense (although I feel sorry for most as they're brainwashed on it as kids and that crap is in deep)

But I think you'll find, that Christianity is the most powerful and popular religion in the world, it covers the majority of the globe and in the western world you're hardly an oppressed minority as a Christian are you, you're not routinely turned down work, beat up on the street or bullied at school, I mean FFS think about what you're actually claiming before you spout such utter nonsense. The reason Atheists have such a pop is because you're the powerful mainstream, it would be popular to spend your time bullying an oppressed minority all day like the LGB community.

But you still don't get it. Doesn't matter the issue. Apple is a company that makes products. Not a stage for the latest front running social agenda. Any smart business man knows that remaining neutral is always the best way to run a company.

I don't believe one can be "neutral" on an issue such as this. Either you are for or against. Even if you don't outwardly express it you won't be on the fence.

Then explain to me, Mr. Brainwashingourchildren, why do we exist? Why does matter exist? How can something, come from nothing? Surely someone had to have created this entire universe, as it couldn't come from a point of nothing.

It's funny, you say that we "brainwash" our children in mythological creatures, but yet atheists brainwash their children into believing that there is nothing out there that could have created this vast universe and something came from nothing.

Like I said, if you don't like Christianity, let it be. I'm not the one who shoves Chrostianity down peoples' throats, but I do teach people who want to accept it.

So please, realize that this forum has many Christians, including myself, who would rather not be criticized based on their religion by one person's opinion.

Why the hell not huh? Christians have been ruining the lives of so many people, don't dish it out if ya can't take it in as well. I very well damn will criticise Christians cause as you can see from the comments here, some of them are really homophobic.

Also this does not mean I will boycott Apple. I love their products and have used Apple virtually all my life.

I'll never understand the hypocrisy of an American Christian who will out of one side of his mouth quote scripture to explain why homosexuality is a sin and then out of the other praise a company that openly supports what he considers to be a sin and support them with his hard-earned money.

If you really think that homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of your God then how can you possibly justify buying the products of a company that supports such abominations? Maybe it's easier to talk about what you believe than actually live it?
