It’s one of their best decisions. No spoilers. We all get to enjoy watching together, discuss at work/school and look forward to the next episode.
Book club comes to mind with your example. Always someone reading ahead. The solution to the book club following your example, release the book in ten pieces. The upside of releasing all in your example, can easily change the rules. A short series, maybe agree to two per week. Then manage those spoiler folks. Just a thought.

Wait til all the episodes are available and binge watch. What’s so hard about that
Just maybe one might like to be up to date on a favorite series. Not ten or more weeks behind. Choices the word that applies to streaming.

Based on that trailer there's going to be a lot of action. Looks like massive CGI set pieces as well. They are spending a ton of money on this show.
One thing that nobody can fault Apple for is production values on their shows.

(Well, I mean, around here, people can complain about anything, but... Whether a given show is personally appealing or not, they clearly went the spare-no-expense route on producing their shows.)

Pretty sure I've seen this one before.
If you’re not reading H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds from 1898, then, well, every “earth invaded” story since has been “unoriginal”, but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been a lot of fun and interesting stories, with unique angles of their own, along the way. I’ll give it a watch.

There is no benefit to being “up to date”. Like it matters if you watch the most current episode of a tv show in the grand scheme of things?

you have a self imposed problem. Then a solution. You make the choice from there

You got one word correct, choice. Streaming about choices not limitation.

Follow the stories of 4 ethnically diverse families as they explore the meaning of humanity and the possibilities that there is more to our world beyond the heavens that awaits...and it's not God.

These shows are always good for a laugh. Just picture it another way. With the combined forces of the US Navy, Marines, Air Force and Army against the Roman Empire. Heck they flattened the Iraqi army like it was nothing and the tech difference was much closer than an alien invasion would be.

Not that there'd be anyone to fight. They'd flatten any military forces from orbit and receive surrenders from all nations in less than a day.

Of course I take the view that aliens would have no interest in conquering earth anyways. Any automation and artificial intelligence would be way beyond the capabilities of humans. So, slave labor is out as slaves would likely be more expensive to maintain. Resources are out. For such an advanced space fairing civilization. There are far virtually limitless resources in our solar system let alone the galaxy. Our humble planet wouldn't be worth the time.

Really, all we'd have to offer are exotic plants, animals and spices. So, flattening the place or risking us destroying it with nukes wouldn't make much sense. I have a hard time even picturing our planet as a food source. As our proteins would likely be totally incompatible. Plus their tech and available resources all over the universe would make such an expedition extremely inefficient compared to some sort of farming in space.

I thought this video had some good points if it really happened, although a lot of assumptions for sure.

You obviously have never watched a single series on Apple TV+. Like, not literally one series.
I have, and this is right on the mark.
Understood, and yet - if you haven’t watched Ted Lasso, go do so right now, it doesn’t matter if you don’t care about soccer, the show is a bit magical.
Ted Lasso was a good/decent show, but it wasn’t ‘magical’. It just was average.

People hype Ted Lasso up so much on here that when I watched it to it’s completion I felt scammed. It was a good show, but nothing about it made it spectacular or great.

Am I the only one who thinks that using guns against invaders who've crossed multiple light years to get here would be like throwing stones at an aircraft carrier?

agreed. I’m personally more likely to start a show with weekly releases than one with an entire season released at once.

With AppleTV+, Disney+, and others, you have the choice to watch as episodes are released, or wait to binge all of them. With Netflix, you have the choice to binge watch when everything is released, or pace yourself when everything is released... Same difference.

With AppleTV's model, you have to manage spoilers if you decide to wait and binge. With Netflix's model, you have to manage spoilers if you decide to pace yourself... Same difference.

In the case of a show like WandaVision, I think it greatly benefitted from being released weekly, as you got this cycle of New Episode > Reaction Videos > Reviews > Easter egg hunting > Speculation > New Episode > ... which helped build momentum and conversation around the show, and the upcoming MCU shows. A different case could be made for any number of shows (like this might not apply for a show like Ted Lasso), and I sorta see where you are coming from in that sense, but it really isn't a question of choice. Both models offer choices.
